10/04/2026: Aside from the atmosphere (we were inside, and I don't know if there's a terrace. It's understandable and not bad at all, but I have to be honest about giving 5 stars to something else...), we had a wonderful time! The person who served us was very kind, I think the owner. We ate simple but delicious and light meals. Thank you, and well done! We'll be back as soon as we can.

05/04/2026: We stayed one night after a day of motorcycle touring. The location is perfect for visiting Montalcino, and there's also parking for motorcycles and cars. The view of the Tuscan hills is stunning. We had a hearty and delicious breakfast, featuring traditional cured meats. The service was welcoming and extremely kind, even helping us fix a problem with our motorcycle. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the beds are very comfortable. We'll be back!

19/04/2026: Superb service. Efficiently executed with a smile. We were a group of 13 arriving wet and cold on bicycles. We were allowed to check in early, we could clean our muddy bikes and store them securely. As we had no car, we ordered pizza from town and ate on the hotel terrace. Rooms and communal areas very comfortable. Bar and breakfast very good.

10/04/2026: Place is cozy and intimate, staff consists only of two people who I assume are the owners, and they are very gentle. Food… (sigh) food was the BEST Italian food we have ever had. We had to go back the next day. It is unbelievably delicious and homemade. If you stop to eat at the Tuscany, this should definitely be it.
21/02/2026: We'd been looking for a restaurant/osteria where we could feel "at home" for a while. From the welcome, to the decor, from the service to the exceptional food: everything was second to none. We can't wait to return to the enchanting hills to visit you again. The owner's smile when he brings you your food is genuine and sincere, ingredients that make guests feel at home. Not to mention the amazing food, all exclusively handmade. We can't wait to return to the enchanting Tuscan hills and enjoy another stop at Caffè Sant'Angelo! ♥️

14/04/2026: Excellent Italian restaurant, lovely decor and very pleasant service. The pasta is homemade and everything is delicious, all at a reasonable price for this touristy area. I highly recommend it.

11/04/2026: Two glasses of wine for 20 euros. Not worth it. The waiter was very friendly, but the business is completely opaque: the price list isn't public and the receipt doesn't itemize anything. A total rip-off!
11/04/2026: 🫵🏻DANGER!!! 🫵🏻 The place seemed like a nice spot to enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace. We ordered two local Brunello wines. They don't show you a menu with prices, but when you go to pay… bam! What a rip-off!!! €20 for two wines!!!!! 🤷 We asked for the bill, and it was all itemized. What I liked most was the owner's cynical smile!!!🎁

09/04/2026: A good option in Montalcino for those who want typical Tuscan food.
The dishes are well-prepared, especially the rabbit and wild boar. The wine list is excellent, with great Brunello options.
Rustic and pleasant atmosphere, very much in the style of the region.
The service can vary — it wasn't bad, but it's not the strongest point either.

20/10/2025: An experience not to be repeated...we waited an hour and a half for a plate of penne with tomato sauce and a chicken breast...and the place was practically empty. As soon as we'd eaten our dish, we, like the other three diners, went to pay without even getting our coffee!
15/10/2025: Delicious pizza and friendly service! Our dog was even allowed to come along :)

25/01/2026: Old fashioned tavern, homemade pasta, everything very good, generous portions, good family restaurant, but very very good, nice place, we were 12 people for dinner, we were satisfied, thanks to the next one
10/12/2025: An unpretentious osteria serving traditional Tuscan dishes, such as pici with wild boar ragù, liver, and rabbit in Brunello wine.
A homey atmosphere and friendly, welcoming staff.
The house wine and homemade tart were very good (it reminded me so much of the one my grandmother used to make when I was little!!!).
Good value for money.

03/08/2025: Abbiamo scoperto questo ristorante per la sua vicinanza alla struttura dove soggiornavamo, e si è rivelata una scelta perfetta. L’esperienza è stata davvero eccellente: piatti tipici toscani preparati con cura e ingredienti genuini, accompagnati dalla calorosa accoglienza dei proprietari, sempre gentili e sorridenti. Consigliatissimi i pici all’aglione fatti a mano, le tagliatelle al tartufo e l’imperdibile pepata della locanda. Una tappa che vale assolutamente la pena! Silvia e Siraj
20/07/2025: Locanda a gestione familiare, ottima la proposta di piatti, situata fuori Montalcino sulla strada per l’abbazia di Sant’Antimo, non è il consueto ristorante acchiappa turisti con magari poveri cingalesi a sgobbare in cucina. Padrone di casa molto cordiale così come la signora di casa che sotto un accento ormai toscano nasconde un’anima ischitana, aiutati dal giovanotto di casa molto sollecito nell’accontentare le richieste dei clienti. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

01/05/2025: Uma experiência encantadora do início ao fim. O Castello Banfi La Taverna oferece não apenas uma comida deliciosa e bem executada, mas também um atendimento atencioso e gentil. O ambiente é lindíssimo — aconchegante, autêntico e com um charme que só a Toscana pode oferecer. Saímos extremamente satisfeitos. Recomendo fortemente a visita para quem busca uma refeição memorável em um cenário inesquecível.

Il ragazzo Niccolò è stato gentilissimo ci ha fatto fare un bellissimo giro del borgo raccontandoci la storia del luogo e la filiera dell’attività.
