07/04/2024: Fantastic and welcoming place! We ate very well, we recommended the tagliolini with artichokes and pistachio pesto, baked pear and cheese terrine, peposo with potatoes and the chocolate and chilli pepper cake was fantastic!!!

31/03/2024: Small restaurant passing through Torrenieri that serves typical Tuscan cuisine and pizzas. I recommend the wild boar, they make it very good, the first courses are also good. Amazing house red wine. Friendly staff, honest prices.

26/11/2023: We had two dinners at La Taverna while staying at Il Borgo at Castello Banfi. First was a four-course tasting menu (plus amuse-bouche to start and cookies after dessert) matched with four wines (plus sparking wine to start). The second night, we ordered from the al la carte menu and had two classic Tuscan dishes: Pici al Ragu Di Cinghiale and Bistecca alla Fiorentina with a bottle of Banfi Brunello di Montalcino Poggio alle Mura. The service is very friendly and attentive and the setting casual and comfortable. A great place to eat!

11/11/2023: I enjoyed a multi-course lunch as part of the Banfi Excellence Tour. It was a great way to cap off a stay at Banfi with both equal parts tasty Tuscan food and exceptional wines. All around good service in a setting at the Banfi estate that evokes visions of a good Tuscan life. A definite must if touring the wine region but its popularity means planning ahead with a reservation.

24/03/2024: Very knowledgeable and courteous staff, very good food, in particular I recommend the pappardelle with wild boar ragù. Quiet location and a wide choice of wines. I would happily go back!

04/04/2024: I tried this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. Me, my boyfriend and two friends all in their early 30s. We order a bottle of Rosso di Montalcino year 2015 for 80 euros. After a while the waiter, perhaps having forgotten the order, asks me if I wanted a Rosso or a Brunello. As a neophyte, lightly, expressing my uncertainty by not fully understanding the real difference between the two vines, I answer Brunello. Not another word from the waiter. A 2015 Brunello is brought to the table.; The owner says he took it from the cellar, "yes it's cold but in the restaurant it's hot..." place it on the table and go. Drank, ate, everything ok. SURPRISE Final bill 960.50 of which 750 euros for a bottle of wine. All paid because clearly "you ordered it"... I'm just wondering if you consider yourselves correct in behaving in this way... playing on the misunderstanding, plucking your customers like chickens. Why not spend 2 words and inform the customer that there is a notable price difference between the 2 wines? Wouldn't it be more ethically correct? Not to mention that 750 euros of wine I DEMAND that it be served with all the trappings, letting it oxygenate, decant and not serving it like any other wine. Not an "I'm sorry" nor a bitter one offered... NEVER AGAIN.

03/04/2024: And here I am again friends, for those who don't know me I have been a traveler for work and pleasure for 30 years, so my reviews are objectively truthful. I don't know where to start but one adjective. EMBARRASSING! From the girl who welcomed me, cold, rude, it seemed like she was doing me a favor, I arrived at 4.15pm on Easter day, so I didn't disturb her lunch or maybe she was breastfeeding seeing as the busty cleavage in plain sight 😱. He took me to the room and gave me info, I remembered that I was vegan for breakfasts, he didn't move an eyelid. The following morning I understood why he hadn't raised an eyelid. When I asked Mrs Anna, perhaps there are some vegan croissants aside for me, she said absolutely NO. Not only did they not apologize or bother to let me find something but I he replied .we have fruit and jam 😱😱😱 seriously ??? it's not over , he made it worse by telling me that they are going to buy flour, pasta etc for celiacs ? Seriously? And are we vegans discriminated against? He said he wasn't going to buy a box of croissants for just 1 person, I replied and go to the bar to buy one for myself 😂🤣🤣? Answer... they don't exist in Montalcino. Now I would invite local people to answer. They let me stay in the rooms outside the hotel because it was full, telling me they were the same...🤣🤣 No comment, view in front of the building, tiny room was bigger than my suitcase, embarrassing bathroom, not to mention the towels that They'll be disgusting when they turn 50. Are we kidding? I asked the phone to bring me a bottle of water because the one in the room was already open and an extra roll of toilet paper because the next day I wouldn't have the room done. They didn't want to give it to me, the next day Mrs. Anna said that I wanted toilet paper for the dog's needs 😱😱 in reality, I have sleepers, I attach photos 😱😱. From my bed I could hear the toilet and the neighbor's shower drain, not to mention the voices. They woke me up at 8 on the DD on Easter Monday. do you think it's over?,😂noooooo the building was emptied, only me was left, so they thought well with 14* pouring cold rain, to take away my heating and hot water, their response...ma'am, it's April 1st 😱.The feral value that leaked and got a bag that I had hanging there wet. Conclusion, the rude and unkind women, the 2 kindest men of the family. If you are vegan, absolutely don't go. There is nothing positive about my 2-night stopover, only that they accept our 4-legged friends, even though in 30 years of having dogs, I have always taken them with me everywhere.
