26/11/2025: A true old-school trattoria in the center of Asciano where substance is valued over aesthetics! It's actually called "the village restaurant." The pizza menu is truly extensive: red, white, calzone, pinsa; the meat dishes are also tempting. We shared a pappa con burrata, truly delicious and creamy. Then we tried a pinsa and a pizza: in my opinion, the pinsa dough was far superior, while my husband preferred the pizza with its nice thin crust, which is hard to find these days! We finished with cantucci and vinsanto, a classic you can never go wrong, and a tiramisu with cantucci and vinsanto, truly delicious, with just the right amount of alcohol, a good cream, and garnished with almonds and caramel! We drank three red beers on tap. I'm talking about a bill outside of any market, only €50!!! (I should point out that we had a small discount due to the agreement with our accommodation in the city) but even if it had been €10 more it would have been way below average these days!

21/10/2025: If you are driving in Italy you can't go wrong with Si Montalcino Hotel. Clean, well kept with a very friendly staff. great parking that is close to the hotels lobby. It's only 5 minutes away from Montalcino which is a nice place to visit.

07/02/2026: We had the opportunity to try their cuisine last week during an evening stroll through the city center. I wasn't familiar with the place, but what I saw behind the glass caught my attention. I have to honestly say that eating badly in Tuscany is truly difficult. I'm sorry, but I haven't found anything here worth returning for. I ordered bruschetta to start, but when it arrived, it was bland and tasteless. I wasn't even convinced by the idea of ​​blending/homogenizing the three toppings on top to a near-velvet level. Plus, my idea of ​​bruschetta is different. The bread here was freshly reheated. I repeat, I wasn't thrilled. Next came the two different first courses. In both, we didn't appreciate the sauces, which, though plentiful, were very spicy (too much rosemary) but lacked connection with the pasta, perhaps having been quickly stirred in the pan or perhaps not having used the starchy cooking water needed to bind the sauce to the pasta. The restaurant, however, is quaint and charming.

24/01/2026: Stopped in here after our other plans for dinner fell through. So glad we did. The food was delicious and the polenta with sausage antipasti was so flavorful. I could have ordered 4 more and been so happy. The wild boar and chickpeas was yummy and flavorful and the two pasta my friends got were incredible looking and tasting. The music maybe could have been turned up a little but otherwise it was great!

28/10/2025: We were mostly very disappointed, almost angry. The price is absolutely unjustified. There was mold in the shower, the beds were worn out and hard. The Wi-Fi was unusable (9 Mbps download, 0.1 Mbps upload). The heating was inadequate, and the extreme noise from the heater made it difficult to sleep. Breakfast was bad, with a limited selection, an extra charge for individual eggs (?????), and dry bread. The restaurant also tries to offer a premium experience, but only the price is premium. Tiny portions, cold food, and a waiter who clearly didn't know what he was doing. He literally massacred the wine cork because he didn't know how a waiter's knife worked (somewhat embarrassing for a winery). Then, while I was eating, he cleared the table (at times leaning over me) and said, "Don't worry, you can continue eating." For a dinner for two people costing around €150 (without even getting full), that's quite cheeky. We ended up leaving two days early because the accommodation was truly awful. In summer the outdoor area is certainly very nice with the pool and the view. You have to give it to the hotel, the location is really, really nice. EDIT: After seeing the response from the hotel, I have to clarify: I did indeed bring up that we were unhappy with the accommodation and especially the points about the bed, the internet, heating and the shower. In fact, just behind me while bringing up the issues at the reception, there was another guest who confirmed that they had exactly the same problems (!!). I didn't say that we'd leave because I had a work meeting the next day. I said I had to work and I'm unable because the internet is unusable. I understand that some things were bad luck, but overall the price didn't represent the quality. I do appreciate that the staff was mostly friendly, but there are some non-trivial issues that need to be addressed.

01/01/2026: In the magical village of Volpaia, the Osteria offers a refined and elegant atmosphere, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and dishes that showcase local ingredients with a delicately exotic touch that will surprise you. Last but not least, our two dogs were welcomed with joy. We'll definitely be back. Well done, Filippo and Martina!

29/12/2025: Highly recommended. The dishes are exceptional, and you can immediately see the attention to detail (as well as a lot of passion). Bonus: pet-friendly! Our dog, Barolo, was treated like a true prince. If you can, stop by and try the pumpkin buttons!

08/12/2025: The meat is the highlight, and the "cinghianella" is also excellent: a special appetizer worth trying. The warm atmosphere is complemented by 360° windows. There's a reserved parking lot a few steps away and a few spaces near the entrance for those with mobility issues.

26/10/2025: On our visit to Chiusi, which was our final stop for this visit to Tuscany, including a visit to the museums, which were all very interesting, we ate at this Osteria, which was simply brilliant! The food, the friendly service in a restaurant run by women, was fantastic, so brilliant that we went back today, Sunday, and will return tomorrow, Monday. We're delighted to have discovered this place! Congratulations for being so generous!

02/01/2026: A delightful and unique inn, slightly off the main drag. The pizza is excellent, as are the appetizers, ribollita, and chicken cacciatore. Definitely worth a try.

30/12/2025: This restaurant is located in Piazza Sant'Agostino, slightly outside the busier center. You can eat outside in the sun on a nice day. The first courses are excellent, especially tagliatelle with ragu and pappardelle with wild boar. The tiramisu is also fantastic, and my kids loved it. Highly recommended!

21/09/2025: The food is fantastic. I recommend the mixed platter with various house specialties, including pappa al pomodoro, cured meats, cheeses, and flans, plus samples of the daily specials. The staff is super friendly and welcoming; you feel at home and pampered. I would definitely go back.

03/01/2026: A very unique place, but overcrowded. A mix of confusing and unclear styles. Perhaps it started out as a repair shop, otherwise I can't quite make sense of the connection between the restaurant and the machines in the dining room. There's limited seating. There's a small outdoor parking lot. We hadn't booked, so after waiting a few minutes for a table, we left. The waiters weren't very friendly and left us there with a curt "wait to see if there's room." We looked at the menu and found it expensive, like all the other places in the area.
