06/01/2026: We went to this restaurant for New Year's Eve dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the menu, which was truly spectacular! We were enchanted by the appetizers right from the start, but when they served us the ramen, we thought it couldn't get any better. Instead, the tortelli exceeded all expectations. The wine pairing was also very well received, especially the red "Le Cupole"! The service was impeccable. Usually at New Year's Eve dinners, the food and service are on the "lower end" despite the high prices, but in this case, the cost was absolutely worth it! I highly recommend it.

31/12/2025: Ristorante da Ciacco is truly an excellent restaurant. It seamlessly combines friendly service, lovely atmosphere and amazing food. One can choose to sit either in the comfortable inside area or outside. If you choose the latter, your experience will only be magnified. Sitting outside is surreal....you are virtually next to a 500 year-old church in a beautiful medieval village. Tuscan dishes are generally simple....characterized by locally sourced foods, the freshest ingredients and presented in a non-fussy way. Ciacco is different. The creativity and presentation of the food is truly amazing and the dishes are some of the best I have ever had....Tuscan or otherwise. I’d mention the Tonno (tuna) I had or the risotto, but chances are great that they may not be available the following day as the menu changes constantly, depending on what the cook may have found that day at the market. Ciacco is known in the area for having fish on their menu....something not typical in this area of Tuscany. I have had numerous fish dishes at Ciacco over the years and they have always been fantastic. I always seem to leave the restaurant in amazement as to how spectacular the meal was.....a meal easily on par with the best meals I’ve had at some of Europe best restaurants. In short: if the opportunity should ever present itself, do yourself a favor and stop by beautiful San Quirico d’Orcia and eat at Ristorante da Ciacco!

31/12/2025: Passing through Siena, a timeless interlude accompanied by the Italian music of the 80s. A truly regal Negroni and surely the best carbonara of my life. An incredible tiramisu. Go without hesitation; a 4.4 rating seems far too low.

28/12/2025: Friendly and professional staff and excellent prices. The food was delicious and top-quality!!! We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance after many others turned us down because we didn't have a reservation. The only ones who were kind enough to let us in. Highly recommended!!!

29/11/2025: We took advantage of the fried pizza + cream baba promo. We'd never done that before. AMAZING Fried pizza with black dough, broccoli rabe, and Oscar-worthy sausage. The baba was truly fabulous. 6 stars if there are any, thanks...

20/10/2025: Nice place, more than fair prices, service needs to be reviewed: when we asked to take away the pizza and to be able to cut it they responded with a "really!" 🫠

07/01/2026: Restaurant in the historic center of Siena a stone's throw from Piazza del Campo, impeccable service with very friendly and welcoming but above all professional guys, excellent appetizers as well as first courses especially the ravioli covered with black cherry cream on top a truly unique taste also the excellent pappardelle, as a second course an excellent meat cooked both in milk and in wine seemed almost to melt in the mouth, even the desserts are not inferior with a tiramisu a little different from the usual but truly unique with an incredible cream I highly recommend coming here.

23/09/2025: Absolutely a two-Michelin-star dinner. Heinz Beck's sous chef is the chef. The dishes are exceptional, ecstatic. An incredible experience.

18/08/2025: What can I say... A special location, a village on the border between Tuscany and Umbria and Lazio, and the chef was on top of his game like never before in showcasing the local ingredients. The tasting was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish had something unique to offer, even the smallest bite. I would have said it was impossible to rank in order of goodness, because the extremely high quality of the suckling pig, the sea bass, and the scampi were all on par. But alas, all the courses had to capitulate in the face of the foie gras, an absolute masterpiece, an explosion of flavors, textures, and even temperatures, sublime, enhanced by the stellar pairing of the white wine we were offered... When you leave, the only thought is what the autumn menu will be like. Many thanks to the chef, the sommelier, and the entire team, young but truly knowledgeable, unobtrusive yet always present...

28/10/2025: We were mostly very disappointed, almost angry. The price is absolutely unjustified. There was mold in the shower, the beds were worn out and hard. The Wi-Fi was unusable (9 Mbps download, 0.1 Mbps upload). The heating was inadequate, and the extreme noise from the heater made it difficult to sleep. Breakfast was bad, with a limited selection, an extra charge for individual eggs (?????), and dry bread. The restaurant also tries to offer a premium experience, but only the price is premium. Tiny portions, cold food, and a waiter who clearly didn't know what he was doing. He literally massacred the wine cork because he didn't know how a waiter's knife worked (somewhat embarrassing for a winery). Then, while I was eating, he cleared the table (at times leaning over me) and said, "Don't worry, you can continue eating." For a dinner for two people costing around €150 (without even getting full), that's quite cheeky. We ended up leaving two days early because the accommodation was truly awful. In summer the outdoor area is certainly very nice with the pool and the view. You have to give it to the hotel, the location is really, really nice. EDIT: After seeing the response from the hotel, I have to clarify: I did indeed bring up that we were unhappy with the accommodation and especially the points about the bed, the internet, heating and the shower. In fact, just behind me while bringing up the issues at the reception, there was another guest who confirmed that they had exactly the same problems (!!). I didn't say that we'd leave because I had a work meeting the next day. I said I had to work and I'm unable because the internet is unusable. I understand that some things were bad luck, but overall the price didn't represent the quality. I do appreciate that the staff was mostly friendly, but there are some non-trivial issues that need to be addressed.

21/09/2025: The food is fantastic. I recommend the mixed platter with various house specialties, including pappa al pomodoro, cured meats, cheeses, and flans, plus samples of the daily specials. The staff is super friendly and welcoming; you feel at home and pampered. I would definitely go back.

21/10/2025: If you are driving in Italy you can't go wrong with Si Montalcino Hotel. Clean, well kept with a very friendly staff. great parking that is close to the hotels lobby. It's only 5 minutes away from Montalcino which is a nice place to visit.

11/08/2025: We stayed a few days and had a great time. The rooms are simple and, in my opinion, could use some updating. However, the service is top-notch and the staff is extremely friendly. Breakfast was excellent.

26/11/2025: A true old-school trattoria in the center of Asciano where substance is valued over aesthetics! It's actually called "the village restaurant." The pizza menu is truly extensive: red, white, calzone, pinsa; the meat dishes are also tempting. We shared a pappa con burrata, truly delicious and creamy. Then we tried a pinsa and a pizza: in my opinion, the pinsa dough was far superior, while my husband preferred the pizza with its nice thin crust, which is hard to find these days! We finished with cantucci and vinsanto, a classic you can never go wrong, and a tiramisu with cantucci and vinsanto, truly delicious, with just the right amount of alcohol, a good cream, and garnished with almonds and caramel! We drank three red beers on tap. I'm talking about a bill outside of any market, only €50!!! (I should point out that we had a small discount due to the agreement with our accommodation in the city) but even if it had been €10 more it would have been way below average these days!

The food was excellent, the service was attentive, and the timing was perfect so we could then go out and stroll before celebrating midnight. The price was RIGHT!!!! We'll definitely be back. 21/01/2026: The place is really nice...we had GREAT food, with battuta and then pici with old-fashioned sauce, if I remember correctly that was the name. The staff was excellent, the waiter taking orders was really good, "a raise is recommended."
