20/10/2025: It was a friendly and delicious pizza place. Haha. I arrived before opening time, but they greeted me, and offered me sparkling white wine. It was delicious. They also gave me complimentary dishes like a large fried fish cake. I had seafood pasta and mushroom burrata pizza, and they were delicious. Haha. It seems like a local favorite, so I guess they focus on filling meals. If you're looking for something fresh, I recommend asking for recommendations from other menu items.

18/10/2025: Great food, great service! We stopped at the hu Camping in Florence just to eat there! It's within walking distance of the campsite, absolutely delicious, and not just the pizza! For example, the octopus in the "soup." The price is also super fair.

14/10/2025: ✨ Al Tranvai – A Hidden Gem in Florence We first discovered Al Tranvai completely by accident during our first visit to Florence. We had planned to dine at a nearby restaurant that turned out to have an impossibly long wait, and my husband — taking charge of his wife’s hanger emergency — stumbled into Al Tranvai instead. The restaurant was cozy and bustling, but managed to seat us without too much of a wait. We sat outside, close to neighboring tables filled mostly with locals. Two Italian gentlemen at the next table struck up a conversation with us, and we soon learned that one of them was a chef at another nearby restaurant. That was our first clue that we had landed somewhere special. They were so gracious, helping us navigate the handwritten Italian menu and even sharing some of their dishes with us. We bravely sampled a local specialty — kidneys — not quite to our taste, but when in Rome (or Florence!), right? My husband and I shared a few Tuscan classics: ribollita (a hearty white bean and bread soup with vegetables), arrabbiata linguine, and peposo, a slow-braised beef with black pepper and red wine. Each dish was simple yet full of soul — proof that great food doesn’t need to be complicated. We decided to secretly pay for our new friends’ meal along with ours. When they found out, they surprised us in return with a bottle of their favorite wine to take home — a gesture we’ll never forget. It was a truly magical evening. A year later, we were lucky enough to return to Florence. I chose Al Tranvai as the place to meet my Italian cousin for the very first time. The restaurant was just as warm and charming as we remembered, and the meal just as wonderful. I hope we can keep coming back to recreate the incredible memories we’ve made here.

05/08/2025: A really nice little place, with soft lighting, just the way I like it, and considering it was a Sunday in August, it wasn't packed, just the way I like it... 😁 The chitarra allo scoglio was very good, and the lamb chops were simply wonderful. The crema catalana was a little too sweet for my taste, but sugar and I had a falling out. Great value, low price, and high quality, congratulations.

The owners are like family now. Prices are in line with the local area, but the human touch is what sets them apart. ❤️

18/09/2025: We came to Osteria Pastella full of excitement, drawn in by its reputation and the unique pasta wheel experience. Sadly, what should have been a highlight of our trip turned into one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the start, we made it very clear that we are vegan and do not eat any meat or seafood. Despite this, we were served calamari skewers, and assured they were vegan. Only after tasting them and questioning again did the staff admit it was calamari. This was shocking and deeply upsetting. What hurt the most was not only the mistake itself, but the careless way it was handled. The staff’s apology felt rushed, lacking sincerity or empathy. The impression we were left with is that the restaurant’s overwhelming success has gone to its head — they rely on their tourist appeal and theatrical “wheel show,” but have forgotten the basics of genuine hospitality and respect for their guests. For travelers with dietary restrictions, allergies, or simply an expectation of care: please be aware. Behind the spectacle, the customer experience here can feel like you are just another wallet at the table, rather than a valued guest.

15/10/2025: Excellent Neapolitan pizza. We chose the pizzini option because we were a group, and it was satisfying; we were able to try many flavors. The restaurant has a lovely outdoor garden to enjoy during the day and the walk along the Arno River. The interior is large and charming. Fair prices. Also recommended for a business dinner. Parking nearby is easy to find.

20/09/2025: It would be a 3.5/5 Pizza and appetizers are nothing special... Good, average... Excellent for groups... Very nice atmosphere, especially in the summer.

11/10/2025: Very nice atmosphere, but terrible management. They served me ravioli alla Norma, 5, I repeat, 5 tasteless, supermarket-quality green ravioli, half raw, with a spoonful of Co-op passata and strips of eggplant peel. So awful that Norma didn't show up out of shame. A parmigiana of dried-out eggplants that fit in a teacup, and a tiramisu so bland it wasn't even filled with Marsala. A place only suitable as a tearoom, perhaps, or for anorexics. The price was exorbitant for both the quality and quantity.

09/10/2025: The evening at chalet fonata was really special. The food was great as well as the service. Both the indoor dining area as well as the garden were really beautiful. Great recommendation!

24/09/2025: Lovely interiors and atmosphere. Great hide-away in the middle of the crowd, and beautiful seating both indoors and outdoors. The service was lovely, headed by Mattia who showed us their bar (in the picture) and really made the experience more personalised - we will for sure be back. In terms of the food, the ingredients were really fresh where you could really taste the quality. Their generousity is also very commendable.

23/09/2025: We had a wonderful evening at Restaurant Irene in Florence. The location on Piazza della Repubblica could not be more perfect, right in the heart of the city. The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, with a warm and stylish setting that made our dinner truly special. The service was excellent – attentive, professional, and very friendly, making us feel well cared for throughout the evening. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavor, from the fresh and vibrant starter to the perfectly prepared pasta and risotto. Everything was of outstanding quality. Overall, Irene is the ideal place to enjoy a refined dinner in Florence with great cuisine, impeccable service, and a unique atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The ambiance is especially noteworthy, with a focus on Florentine traditions, particularly historic football. Fair prices and fast service. I'll definitely be back.

10/10/2025: Really not sure how this place has a 4 star status!! The room was very dated and in need of a refurb. Mattress was so hard and bathroom was so so small. The noise from other rooms and on the landing was ridiculous, shouldn't be able to hear people's conversations in the next room! Breakfast was very poor also with limited options, so settled for a poor tasting coffee!!

08/10/2025: Great location, amenities and room. They do three times a day room cleaning. Spacious room with a touch of history. Rooftop bar was pretty. If you rent a car they will give you a ZTL pass which is very accommodating. Car parking is roughly ~40Euro nightly.
