02/08/2025: Arriving late at our vacation spot and a bit tired from the trip, we followed our host's advice and went to dinner at Gli Scugnizzi. We sat on the terrace and ate really well (and in abundance)! The mixed fried fish was tasty, and my son loved the dessert: a cassatina, which he'd never tried before. The welcome was warm, the atmosphere relaxed, and the price reasonable. A good choice for a good dinner!

29/07/2025: We were referred here by a kind gentleman (owner?) from Zimbo Osteria Pizzeria on a Sunday afternoon after driving to several different pizzerias. Pizzas were not available at Zimbo on Sundays but their seafood smelled delicious as we were leaving. The food at Gil Scugnizzi (Margherita pizza, Stracciatella pizza, 4 Stagioni pizza, & linguine ai frutti di mare) was one of the best we’ve eaten on our short trip to Italy. The service was fantastic with a smile and the bright and cheery atmosphere was welcoming. We would love to come back.

11/08/2025: The waiter (the older one from pictures from Other reviews) was very impolite! He didn’t want to give us a table although another waiter was trying to find a solution for us. He went over and said “NO”, told us to call in advance, which we did, several times, but no one bothered to answer. Maybe learn to treat people better? Big thumbs down!

01/07/2025: Es un sitio maravilloso, además de la buena comida hay muy buena atención. Moreno es un gran host y su esposa Sara es una cocinera maravillosa. Son muy buenos los precios, la comida es incomparable y con muy buenas porciones. Una experiencia súper recomendada si quieren buena comida, un excelente ambiente y una gran experiencia.

07/08/2025: This hotel is 25 minutes from the Duomo, but very closed to the theatre and the tramway, so depends on where you want to go. They do bot have their own parking, and outsource their parking, which needs 1 hour notice in advance. Rooms are okay, but their mattress is stiff and you can feel the spring, and they don't have thinner pillows. It's not comfortable for sleep. And they are not very eco-friendly, they don't recycle in rooms and the air conditioning doesn't turn off when you open the windows, electricity doesn't get cut off when you exit.

05/08/2025: Very convenient for visiting Florence. Renovated, on the banks of the Arno. Ideal for a walk or a morning run. Renovated hotel, very decent and clean rooms. The rooftop restaurant offers great views of the city and good food. I found the breakfast average, and parking a bit expensive considering it's not in the city center. A very pleasant 20-minute walk to Ponte Vecchio.

11/08/2025: An elegant seafood restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Everything is incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked. The orecchiette with clams and bottarga are simply spectacular—worth the visit alone! The maltagliati with shrimp and zucchini is also special. The wine list is also excellent: carefully selected, well-curated, and with truly interesting options.

02/08/2025: It's been over 20 years since I've been back to this restaurant, which has since been renovated and has ample parking nearby. The cuisine never disappoints and remains excellent for those who love quality food. Impeccable service.

15/06/2025: Place recommended by many friends, I wanted to try it myself and I was very happy with the excellent food and the fresh breeze eating outside on a Sunday lunch. It was pleasant to listen to the birds chirping and some sparrows came to the tables to keep us company. The relaxing green color of the trees and surrounding hills was a real pleasure. There is also the possibility of staying in tidy and clean rooms. The staff was friendly and professional. Thanks for everything

27/05/2025: My experience can be summed up in two and a half words: Pici all'aglione. Then you can choose between excellent appetizers, delicious steaks or mixed roasts of various sizes. The Pici, however, are a must in this restaurant with a beautiful panoramic terrace and, it never goes wrong, with very kind staff. The prices are average. See you soon then.

15/07/2025: Living in this area of Florence, I often dine at Cipiglio for dinner or takeout. I always love coming back. The pizza is delicious, with even more unusual toppings to please everyone. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The prices are fair for what you get, and the wait, even at peak times, is never too long. I don't feel like giving it 5 stars because I've never tried their restaurant offerings, but it's definitely my favorite pizzeria in the area! A sure thing.

16/08/2025: Lovely pizzeria, located right in the main square of San Donato, serves delicious pizzas with made with a thin crust and tastes amazing. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a great spot for families. The staff are very kind and patient, taking the time to explain the menu in detail. We enjoyed it so much that we came back twice during our holiday! Highly recommended.

13/08/2025: The worst pizza in my life. Actually, it's not pizza, but pita bread with filling. Dessert: we ordered tiramisu. They brought ice cream with tiramisu flavor. But we ordered dessert, not ice cream. On the good side: the location is beautiful

03/08/2025: So pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We got the wellness suite with a Finnish sauna in it. Walking in the hotel, we were impressed by the hard wood floors throughout the suite and the lobby. The hotel is old but we appreciate the history of the building being home to the princes in the late 1800s/1900s. The sauna was awesome. I didn’t realize it had a second bedroom. Location is great - in the middle of Florence within walking distance to all the places we wanted to see and the Santa Maria train station as well.

31/07/2025: The hotel it’s self is very pretty and chic. It is a good mix of modern and old world. the rooms are very large with plenty of space for unpacking! I believe the hotel could be 5 stars if they improved in two things. The rooms were clean but had quite a bit of dust. And the room service ends at 10 (should be 24 hours) and the menu for room service is just food from the hotel’s restaurant. the elevator also broke down a couple of times during my 4 night stay. other than those things i enjoyed my stay a lot and very inexpensive for what you get

25/05/2025: Very nice place in Certaldo. Recently renovated, the staff is fast and kind. The food is pleasant. Recommended for those who decide to visit Certaldo alta where the places are objectively more expensive.

08/08/2025: We chose meatballs and truffle pasta, but the pasta was overcooked and far from al dente. The meatballs had a foul taste and smell, and the truffle pasta wasn't very tasty either. Besides, I think the price isn't very cheap. While we've avoided chain restaurants like this during our trip to Italy, we've made the choice, and I won't be going back to any chain restaurant. I can honestly say it was our worst experience in Italy. Truffle pasta costs 20+2 Euros, meatball pasta costs 15+2 Euros, and the pasta we chose costs 2 Euros, which is another bit of nonsense.

25/07/2025: Disappointed by the lack of price transparency. The Aperol, listed at €6 at the hotel entrance, was charged €8, without prior warning. It was only when we were asked for our bill that we were informed that the restaurant prices were higher. Another surprising point: plain white pasta for an 18-month-old baby (without sauce, oil, or butter) was charged €11. This leaves the impression of unjustified abuse. A shame, because the setting is pleasant.

19/08/2025: When we left Brazil and came to Florence, we had the goal of visiting Osteria Pastella. What a magnificent experience! Order the pasta, which is made right at the table, dipped in a huge grana padano cheese. Simply sensational!

18/08/2025: A great place. We visited the lunch service and had the Tartufo Flambe (Pasta all Ruota) and it was amazing! One pf the best pastas we ever had.
