21/10/2025: I celebrated my birthday at Cucina Torcicoda and it was a wonderful experience! A welcoming and refined atmosphere, delicious food (the desserts were truly amazing!), and impeccable service. Our waiter was kind, positive, and very attentive. A special evening I will fondly remember.

18/10/2025: I chose the restaurant both because it has a Satispay agreement (so I can use company meal vouchers) and because of the good reviews I'd read online. We ordered an appetizer and two main courses: a duck and a fillet of meagre with samphire and potatoes (€28 for the fillet with samphire alone). After a few minutes, what I believe to be the owner returns to the table to inform us that the duck is unavailable—a shortcoming that, given the restaurant's "standards," should have been disclosed when ordering. The wait for our dishes is quite long: at least 30 minutes. When they finally arrive, we discover that one of them is incomplete. We're told, "Our apologies, but the samphire is out"—so one of the dish's three main ingredients is simply removed, without any warning or alternative offer. To my surprised reaction, the owner responds with a rather unfortunate question: "Do you even know what samphire is?" —I still wonder what that sentence meant. Result: a €28 dish reduced to a fillet of sea bass with three slices of potatoes. The icing on the cake: when I got the bill, I tried to pay with Satispay, but the owner said, "Well, I don't know if it works, I never use it." Spoiler: Satispay didn't work—or rather, it did work, but the owner wouldn't click "accept," despite me pointing it out several times. In the end: 1. I paid out of pocket. 2. I spent €122.50 for an appetizer, two main courses, a dessert, two glasses of wine (plus two dessert wines), and a coffee. 3. I received rude and inattentive service. 4. No discount or gesture of courtesy, despite the obvious shortcomings. 5. I look at the receipt and realize we paid €6 for a coffee (not even in St. Mark's Square in Venice) and donated 50 cents to an organization unknown to us, without asking us in advance (usually the 50 cents donated are deducted from the profit, not added to the customer's account without a request). The only positive note: the quality of the ingredients and the kindness of the rest of the staff (especially the lady in the dining room, who was truly courteous!). Unfortunately, given this situation, a customer can only leave feeling dissatisfied.

17/10/2025: A wonderful dinner in Lucca's historic center. The best restaurant in the city center... excellent food and impeccable service. The owner was able to accommodate every request! If you haven't stopped by for lunch or dinner, you haven't been to Lucca!

13/10/2025: We were completely satisfied – everything was top-notch! The pizza was delicious, and the pasta with truffle sauce was simply outstanding. The only thing was that the bench was a bit uncomfortable; the seating was a bit too straight. Otherwise, we can highly recommend this restaurant!

26/09/2025: I've only tried lunch on workdays. It's a great place; the food is quick and the quality is good. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. A full lunch costs €13! I'd say it's more than fair. I recommend it.

22/09/2025: Located in the first hills behind Capezzano Pianore, just 1.5 km or 2 km from the Sarzanese Provincial Road. However, some road signs to help locate the restaurant wouldn't be a bad idea! As soon as we entered, we were escorted to the back garden/patio, and the setting is truly fantastic. The waiters are elegant in their uniforms. The menu includes both meat and fish, and the dishes are well-prepared and beautifully presented. Everything perfect, then? Almost. A couple of details were a shame: the mushrooms in the tagliatelle ai funghi were frozen, plasticky, and tasteless (a serious problem, considering it was mid-September); when ordering coffee, I unfortunately discovered they had no sweetener, just white sugar (being diabetic, I had to drink it bitter). Finally, the bill: €75 per person for an appetizer, a first course (or second course), dessert, and the cheapest wine on the menu—it's not cheap, though the garden/patio setting justifies the slight price premium.

14/10/2025: It was so special. Stefano and his staff could not have been more welcoming. The room was very comfortable. The shower was outstanding. The inn itself was old world feeling with the comfort of a newer hotel.

08/10/2025: We visited the restaurant several times during our week-long vacation. We would have visited more often, but the restaurant was fully booked, and no wonder. The food was really good, the place had an atmosphere, but the best thing was the incredibly warm service. The staff is absolutely top-notch and the restaurateur himself is a sight to behold: such a cheerful and caring atmosphere maintainer that nothing could be better. Thank you very much! In this restaurant, the customer feels like part of the family. ❤️🙏

27/09/2025: I've been there three times in about a year... the first time was sublime. The service was truly excellent and the food was undeniable. The second time, perhaps mindful of the first, I let myself go without observing and "listening." The third time was a few weeks ago, on a Friday, and I noticed a decline in the service. The dining room staff was too young, so in my opinion, they were less inclined to show the kind of attention a place of this caliber should offer. That said, I was surprised by the food. I always order the veal agnolotti with roast beef sauce, and unfortunately, on this occasion, it wasn't the dish I knew and appreciated. Of course, a bad night always happens... especially towards the end of the summer season, which is why I'll return as soon as possible to definitely change my mind. I'll conclude by saying that my criticism is meant to be constructive as well as stimulating. I gave it 4 stars because among all the top ratings, at least they'll stand out 😘.
