05/10/2025: The staff is friendly. The pizza wasn't the best we've had in Palermo. The salad wasn't tasty at all—the lettuce was bitter. I wouldn't recommend this place. The staff asks everyone to leave a review at the end, providing a link.

05/10/2025: The Neapolitan pizzas were burned, while the calzone and the stuffed crust pizza were raw. The restaurant lacks soundproofing, and it's impossible to talk at the table without shouting.

01/10/2025: Carletto in Sant'Angela di Militello was a truly pleasant experience. Everything was excellent, from the welcome to the service, and, of course, the food. Among the dishes, the swordfish rolls stand out, a true house specialty: tender, flavorful, and grilled. A delicacy truly worth trying.

30/09/2025: The food may be good, with Carletto cooking by the outdoor fireplace, and working really hard, but the waiters don't pay attention to you. From the moment you arrive, you choose your table, otherwise no one tells you where to sit. A good 20 minutes passed before I ordered. The mussels for the appetizer were large, but they didn't seem fresh. At least in Sicily, fish should be eaten well. I asked for coffee, and the waiter was talking to known customers and replied as if to say, "Yeah, okay, I'm coming..." and continued calmly, ignoring my request. I wouldn't recommend it because there are only 2 or 3 waiters, the place is large, and you risk ending up like a piece of junk.

07/10/2025: I was pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant in Syracuse. I had the spaghetti siracusana, which was delicious. The price was fair.

13/10/2025: Beautiful restaurant with a stunning terrace to admire the most beautiful sunset in this area. We found the service very friendly, the seafood dishes high-quality and presented with impeccable care. Even the desserts were truly top-notch (must try)!!! Excellent value for money. 29/09/2025: I had lunch here today, and the quality was exceptional. The food was of the highest quality and variety, and the service and staff were impeccable. The fish was incredibly fresh. I'd love to return.

09/09/2025: We were only visiting the restaurant, not the hotel. We sat outside and were served quickly. The courses were explained to us very well in English. We chose the appetizers and a main course (€35 per person), which included some drinks (soft drinks, wine, and shots at the end). The food came quickly and was very varied. Unfortunately, we were disturbed by a lot of wasps, but were then moved inside. There was a tour group of at least 100 Italian people inside (it was almost impossible to have a conversation). All in all, it was good, but definitely too much for us.

01/10/2025: Hotel Metropole is definitely one of the most luxurious properties in Taormina and probably the one with the best location. You are right in the center of the action among restaurants , shops, boutiques and bars. If you want to go to the beach it is just a 10 min drive away.

29/09/2025: Tried to visit for lunch during the terrible weather on Saturday 27th September 2025. From start to finish it was a disaster. Told we were able to sit down near reception, asked for menus, then told we weren't due to tour and asked to go downstairs to their other restaurant (female member of staff with brown hair and Gucci belt) - other restaurant closed to due to the rain. Then told it was ok to sit somewhere else on the upstairs terrace by same member of staff and then told my male member of staff that food not possible. All very confusing and not what I would have expected for a hotel of this calibre. Mixed messages. Disappointing.

14/10/2025: The room was dirty. Upon arrival, there were 10 woodlice, half of them dead, and three spiders. Stains on the ceiling, a disgusting toilet seat, and mold in the bathroom. At reception, I was offered insect spray in the evening, so I could either sleep with live insects or in the cloud of poisonous woodlice. Only one towel, and the one they brought was completely tattered. Very thinly soundproofed. I woke up at 6:00 a.m. thanks to the neighbors. At breakfast at 8:00 a.m., they could have cleaned up the juice and coffee and refilled the cereal. An incomparable location, however, doesn't justify the 4 stars and the value for money in the off-season.

09/10/2025: Recommended! The review could end here, but I still want to recommend the squid ink and pasta with sardines from this menu. An old-fashioned restaurant with experienced staff. There's no phone coverage in the alley, but good wifi is available. I rarely get three 5-star ratings, and here they all are.
