06/04/2026: I went there because it was recommended by relatives in the area. It's an excellent seafood restaurant on the main street of Santa Maria al Bagno. I found the fish to be very fresh and well-prepared. The service was very attentive. You can eat à la carte or choose from the tasting menus. Recommended for seafood lovers. Prices are reasonable.

04/04/2026: A sophisticated restaurant located in an elegant historic residence overlooking the sea. The decor and service are meticulously crafted. Excellent food quality and exquisite presentation. This isn't our first time here, and each time is a pleasant experience. The friendliness and cleanliness are a constant. It's become a go-to for me. Parking is paid only during the summer months, and you can park on the street. We didn't have to wait because we had reserved a table.

31/05/2026: We went to this restaurant yesterday to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. What can I say? It's a very elegant restaurant, with attentive and polite staff and delicious food. If you're near Lecce, I highly recommend it!

29/05/2026: We originally wanted to dine at the restaurant across the street, but unfortunately we were unable to get a reservation, so we decided to try this restaurant instead. We ordered a combination of the four-course tasting menu (€50 per person) and were extremely disappointed with both the food quality and the overall experience. Shortly after the meal, we became sick. As a professional chef from California, I was particularly concerned about the quality and freshness of the seafood. The tuna showed signs of discoloration that suggested it was no longer fresh, and the shrimp tasted as if it had expired. It felt as though ingredients left over from the previous day were being served to guests. When our pasta course arrived, we decided not to continue with the meal and informed the staff that we wished to leave. Rather than addressing our concerns professionally, the owner approached us in an aggressive and unprofessional manner. Despite our dissatisfaction, I still paid half of the bill as a gesture of fairness. A restaurant’s response to customer concerns is just as important as the food itself. Instead of becoming confrontational, a simple apology and an effort to resolve the situation would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have had in Italy, and I cannot recommend this restaurant.

09/06/2026: A very nice culinary experience. The service was a bit slow, but the setting is lovely if you book in advance. We were there on Bastille Day, so it was very crowded and we were stuck in a passageway.

05/06/2026: Fantastic restaurant. The service was exceptional. The food so fresh and beautifully prepared. The chef prepared off menu dishes for a gluten free member of oour party. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation. Wonderful.

25/05/2026: Leaving a restaurant with a satisfied smile is quite rare these days. I hadn't been back to "Da Amedeo" in a while. A quick but substantial lunch, the appetizer of eggplant rolls with cod was excellent, but chef Andrea surprised me with this excellent dish, made with few ingredients but wonderfully prepared: spaghetti with mussels, yellow cherry tomatoes, and zucchini flowers, a hint of lime for a touch of class. The icing on the cake was the mopping up of the bread with his own bread. Top 👏👏👏

15/05/2026: We had dinner here one evening in May and were very well looked after by the owners. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was tasteful and cozy!

10/05/2026: After a while, greeted by a brisk lady (who served in her usual attire, stepping away from the register), we were placed in a large, welcoming, and clean room. A distinguished and kind gentleman with graying hair and glasses took our orders, explaining the details. So far, so good. The waiter arrived, polite, but... but... when he poured the wine into the glass, he spilled it... not done... OK. We waited an hour, I realized it was crowded, and finally we tasted what friends had been raving about... and here's the rub... the first course, orecchiette, tasted like the mass-produced ones, the sauce was a little... limp, but the flavor was more than decent. Ahhhh the pasta, like linguine with sea urchin sauce!!!!! Help..... they had disappeared, drowned in the oil... but maybe it was the sea urchin-flavored oil... we'll never know. I wanted to ask the cashier or at least tell them to say hello, maybe they were on vacation at the beach... the second course arrives... well, here we go again!! Excellent portion of mixed fried food, BUT... it wasn't good, it wasn't crispy, prepared in a hurry, perhaps not floured well??! Filthy, almost tasteless... there are much better options in less highly rated restaurants... basically, they had no flavor. I went to the cashier, not even asking how lunch went... I wanted to say something but was stopped... I definitely won't be returning easily, much to the delight of the managers. The customer must be "lulled" and not a guinea pig to be given anything, also because you can't make fun of a Salento native. Too bad, the great kindness of the maître (the gentleman with glasses) was not enough to not darken this day. Ah, this is NOT an accusatory criticism, but an opinion that serves as a suggestion to always be more....more!!!

27/12/2025: We stumbled upon it by chance, without a reservation, one day during the Christmas holidays. We'd heard good things about it, and it deserved its reputation: we had excellent raw seafood (compliments to the accompanying sauces), a first course (tagliolini spunsale and anchovy colatura), a second course (sea bass with chard cream), and two desserts. Everything was delicious! It must be said: the price isn't cheap. The service was truly friendly, both to us and to our dog. I recommend it for a special occasion.

23/12/2025: My boyfriend and I went to this little restaurant in September. Fantastic place! We spent a bit because we didn't want for anything, but the quality of the food and wine was worth every penny. The fish was incredibly fresh, and they recommended the right wine to pair with the dishes. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. Excellent customer service! High quality, definitely recommended.

05/07/2026: Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. We ordered and waited over an hour and a half before anything arrived. Being a Saturday night, a wait is understandable, but what arrived didn't make up for the wait. The menu seemed rather sparse and poorly curated. We ordered udon noodles with vegetables for a six-year-old, and they arrived very late, burned, bitter, and practically inedible. As for the sushi, the quality was significantly below expectations: the rice was too hard, the flavors were almost nonexistent, the fish was under-appreciated, and the shrimp were served raw and of poor quality. Compared to other sushi places we've tried in Lecce, the quality was significantly lower. It's a shame, but for us, it was a negative experience, and I don't think we'll be back.
