We were welcomed with great professionalism and warmth, and from the first minutes we knew we were in a special place. At the table, we were won over by the top-quality dishes: a masterfully prepared tagliolini with lobster, a simply exceptional red tuna tartare, and a fresh fish carpaccio recommended by the manager, Artur, which proved to be a perfect choice. Artur himself deserves a special mention: his expertise, kindness, and ability to guide guests in choosing dishes and wines truly make the difference. Thanks to his advice, we paired it with an excellent Apulian wine that enhanced every course. We left the restaurant more than satisfied, with the desire to return soon. La Giudecca is the right place for those who want a true culinary experience in Gallipoli, featuring fresh fish, authentic flavors, and high-quality service. A must-try every time I visit Gallipoli. I discovered this place and never look for new restaurants. Excellent seafood, top-notch service, and Artur is the best, now a friend. I recommend everyone try it, especially at lunchtime for the sea view and the peaceful atmosphere.

A few days ago, we had dinner at Ristorante La Giudecca in Gallipoli. This restaurant is located at the beginning of Lungomare Galileo Galilei, coming from the historic center, and offers a magnificent view of the entire bay from the center to Punta Pizzo. The owner, Artur Bodini, gave us a very warm welcome and showed us to a beautiful spot on the terrace overlooking the sea and its vibrant colors. We immediately felt very comfortable in this restaurant. We asked the owner to recommend the appetizers and wine. The tuna carpaccio and the antipasti platter with local delicacies were excellent. A particular highlight was a salad of finely sliced ​​cuttlefish with potatoes. For our main course, we chose pasta with aragosta. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care and attention to detail. This was further demonstrated by the platters of fresh fish served at the next table. A taste of what's to come at our next visit to La Giudecca... The service was outstanding, and we felt as if our every need was being anticipated. We had a wonderful evening at La Giudecca, and we can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. A special thank you to the owner, Artur Bodini, and his team. Why not simply enjoy beautiful moments and culinary delights and leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind? For those who prefer a quick meal, there are restaurants that specialize in that.

After a while, greeted by a brisk lady (who served in her usual attire, stepping away from the register), we were placed in a large, welcoming, and clean room. A distinguished and kind gentleman with graying hair and glasses took our orders, explaining the details. So far, so good. The waiter arrived, polite, but... but... when he poured the wine into the glass, he spilled it... not done... OK. We waited an hour, I realized it was crowded, and finally we tasted what friends had been raving about... and here's the rub... the first course, orecchiette, tasted like the mass-produced ones, the sauce was a little... limp, but the flavor was more than decent. Ahhhh the pasta, like linguine with sea urchin sauce!!!!! Help..... they had disappeared, drowned in the oil... but maybe it was the sea urchin-flavored oil... we'll never know. I wanted to ask the cashier or at least tell them to say hello, maybe they were on vacation at the beach... the second course arrives... well, here we go again!! Excellent portion of mixed fried food, BUT... it wasn't good, it wasn't crispy, prepared in a hurry, perhaps not floured well??! Filthy, almost tasteless... there are much better options in less highly rated restaurants... basically, they had no flavor. I went to the cashier, not even asking how lunch went... I wanted to say something but was stopped... I definitely won't be returning easily, much to the delight of the managers. The customer must be "lulled" and not a guinea pig to be given anything, also because you can't make fun of a Salento native. Too bad, the great kindness of the maître (the gentleman with glasses) was not enough to not darken this day. Ah, this is NOT an accusatory criticism, but an opinion that serves as a suggestion to always be more....more!!!
