Excellent restaurant in every way

Excellent experience at Retro Gusto. We particularly enjoyed the pappardelle with shrimp and almonds, a very well-balanced dish with original and perfectly executed flavors. The lemon pasta was also delicious, fresh, and fragrant, ideal for showcasing local produce. The highlight of the meal was the tiramisu: simply exceptional. Light, indulgent, and perfectly executed, it was undoubtedly the best we tasted in Italy. Pleasant service with a special mention for Marco, who was very helpful, available, and very pleasant. Beautifully presented dishes and high-quality ingredients; a restaurant we highly recommend when visiting Otranto.

Last night I dined at this restaurant, which I wish I'd discovered sooner, given the truly impeccable evening we had, from the welcome we received upon arrival to the owner's farewell before we left. We ordered appetizers (I literally ate the best seafood salad I've ever tasted), a first course, and finally a tiramisu that was out of this world... In each course, we recognized the high quality of the ingredients, the commitment to showcasing them, and the attention to detail in the presentation. For this reason, I found the prices commensurate with the quality of the dishes (and no higher than many other restaurants whose menus are largely based on frozen products)! I dined at Retrogusto and the experience was simply impeccable. A restaurant that manages to combine elegance, authenticity, and gastronomic research with a rare naturalness. The atmosphere is refined yet welcoming, with attention to every detail, and the service is extremely professional, attentive, and never intrusive. Each dish reflects the region through excellent raw materials, crafted with technique, balance, and great culinary sensitivity. The quality of the fish is extraordinary, as is the presentation of the dishes: essential, elegant, and capable of showcasing each ingredient without being overbearing. The wine selection is also excellent, perfectly paired with the chef's dishes. Retrogusto is more than just a restaurant, it's a true gastronomic experience in the heart of Otranto. An address absolutely worth discovering and remembering.
