22/04/2025: Ho prenotato per il pranzo di pasquetta 20.04.2025, nella prenotazione avevo già esposto i problemi alimentari e mi è stato detto che non c'erano problemi per le variazioni, richiedo conferma il giorno prima e mi viene detto di riferire al cameriere del tavolo... Arriviamo, riferisco e x gli intolleranti ovviamente non c'è niente di dedicato solo pietanze già pronte. I primi solo alcuni dove i formaggi venivano aggiunti dopo, il dolce con la frutta arriva solo la frutta, la carne invece arriva cruda e la salsiccia salatissima. Dai 2 primi previsti dal menù ho potuto mangiare solo 1, senza il dolce e gli antipasti da chissà cosa previsto ho dovuto accontentarmi delle verdure grigliate. Alla cassa poi hanno fatto la parte di un misero sconto di 5€. 1 stella extra solo x il personale di sala.

31/05/2025: It’s been a really long time since I had a culinary experience of this level. I admit that it’s a bit difficult to surprise me with food. The last time was in a starred restaurant and I have to admit that the dinner at I Rocci surpassed even that. The research in the dishes is visible, it’s felt, but it’s totally devoid of that self-assurance that is often called “experimentation”. At I Rocci the chef places himself without protagonism, it seems that he places himself after the ingredient, after the palate of the guest to whom the kitchen reserves a little surprise before ordering and at the end of the meal, after dessert. In the dining room, the atmosphere is informal and cheerful but without a lack of attention. I have no idea how much was spent, I was my son’s guest, but whatever the bill, it was well deserved. The joy and happiness of the dinner continues even today. Thanks again.

25/05/2025: It is a grill restaurant, they are courteous and welcoming. The menu has a rich appetizer with rare things like donkey mortadella, then fresh and aged local cheeses and cooked and uncooked vegetables. But the main course is the meats and in particular here they also serve horse meat.
25/05/2025: I met Angelo on an organized group trip. We hit it off right away. When he answered the phone to take reservations, he made me want to try the dishes at his restaurant. No sooner said than done. I left for Ceglie Messapica on Wednesday and the same day I was at the restaurant. Excellent meat, excellent service, the place, what can I say, is truly an ancient village. You can only fall in love with this place. I will definitely return and I recommend it to everyone❤️

22/05/2025: Pasta overcooked, fish that you have to look for in the dish, we are very disappointed and for these reasons it is really too expensive 22 euros per dish.
20/05/2025: We ate there tonight.Friendly waiter who was so helpful with all. He had lots of patience and explained the menu to us. Food was beautiful. They even cooked some of our small children who are fussy with fish some beautiful pasta instead. We had catch of the day it was so delicious the fish, the potatoes and the sauce. It was flavoured perfectly. And all while looking at the sea. Would highly recommend. Thank you.

18/05/2025: Ero indeciso se dare 4 o 5 stelle, alla fine ho optato per 5 per la location, una vista davvero mozzafiato, soprattutto con le luci del tramonto. Si intravede il lavoro che c'è dietro la preparazione e presentazione, probabilmente avremmo gradito delle quantità leggermente più abbondanti. Tutto buono comunque! Servizio efficiente.

07/06/2025: We were drawn in by the refinement of the place. The staff was very pleasant. The wine was very good too. Unfortunately, the tuna and swordfish dishes were more than disappointing and the endive accompaniment was disgusting after a few bites. What a shame!
06/06/2025: Loved the courtyard setting. The service was excellent and our food was fresh and tasty. The prosciutto and melon was very filling and generous portion of prosciutto. The ravioli was done just right. Not a huge wine selection but plenty of good choices. Our server Aexandro was the best. Made the evening even more enjoyable.

22/05/2025: I must admit that I have never been to the Calvi restaurant and it was a truly pleasant discovery, a gastronomic experience that manages to combine elegance and simplicity with great balance. The cuisine is of the highest level, with attention to the smallest details both in the plating and in the flavors. Each dish tells a story of research and passion, thanks to excellent quality ingredients, fresh and carefully selected. The combinations are refined but never excessive, capable of enhancing the natural flavors without overloading them. The service is another strong point: friendly, present but never intrusive, with a staff always ready to recommend and explain with competence the dishes and the wines to pair. You feel pampered from start to finish. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming, perfect for both a romantic dinner and a lunch with friends. The environment manages to convey serenity, with an attention to detail that is also reflected in the furnishings and background music. Finally, the quality-price ratio is more than fair. Considering the quality of the ingredients, the mastery of the kitchen and the level of service, the bill is absolutely adequate and well balanced. In short, Calvi is a restaurant where you gladly return: to eat well, relax and feel welcomed. A round of applause to Donato for his passion. Highly recommended.

It’s exactly what happens when you enter their home: they open the doors to their home, welcome you with a smile and treat you like family. This is Calvi: warmth, passion, care. It’s one of those places where you don’t just go to eat well — even if, trust me, you eat like a god — but to live a moment. The place is elegant and welcoming, with large and comfortable spaces. But my favorite corner is near the pass, because from there I can see everything. The kitchen is completely open, a real theater where the show never stops. I could stay there for hours watching how they move, how they take care of every detail… and in fact, every now and then, my wife calls me to order! Chef Donato is young, but with an edge. He has a head, a heart and a lot of hunger (not just for cooking, but for growing): he studies, travels, puts himself to the test. He never stops. Angelica, on the other hand, is the sommelier you would always like to have at your table: brilliant, very friendly, knowledgeable. She reads inside you and can always recommend the right glass, even if you want to dare with a cocktail or a spirit. In the dining room there is also Domenica, sweet, smiling, who makes you feel immediately at ease. Their cuisine is lively, contemporary, but rooted in tradition. You can find meat, fish, vegetarian dishes, daily specials, new dishes every season... but always with a clear philosophy: seasonality, respect for the raw materials and zero waste. I have eaten some of the best dishes of my life at their place. And every time it is different, because the menu changes, the inspiration changes... but the quality never changes. And then there are the leavened products. Bread, focaccia, sandwiches, panettone, brioche: all made by them, with sourdough and selected flours. I often stop by just to get the freshly baked bread, because it is truly special. I close with desserts and ice creams… which are not just “good”. They are poetry. The ice creams are churned on the spot, the desserts are never banal. Calvi is not just any restaurant. It is a real experience, made of heart, technique, family and so much beauty. If you have the chance, go there. Let yourself be embraced.
