04/10/2025: Incredibly friendly and service-oriented staff, very keen to ensure we had a good experience. The food was very good, but on the more expensive side and (compared to other restaurants in the area) small portions. However, the taste was incredible, and outweighed the quantity of food.

18/09/2025: Excellent dinner! The veal ribs melted in your mouth, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The creamy scampi casseroles were simply extraordinary: delicate, creamy, unforgettable. The staff were extremely kind and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. A restaurant that leaves you smiling. Thank you so much!

06/01/2026: An exceptional dining experience! So much so- we actually went back a second time (during a 5 day stay in the area). The flavors and options were just wonderful and the team working there is very friendly and professional. We highly recommend this restaurant!

12/01/2026: One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten, and among pizzerias by the slice, it's the best!!! The flavors are different every time, although the Margherita remains my favorite. Luigi, the pizza chef, is truly EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!!!!

24/12/2025: Nice and welcoming place. The service was also good. The fish was fresh and smelled of the sea... but the first and second courses didn't satisfy me... definitely worth seeing again.

31/10/2025: The restaurant is very welcoming, as is the staff. Excellent meal, with every course, and plenty of pampering to boot. High-quality ingredients, balanced and beautifully presented dishes, and a mouth-watering house dessert. We'll definitely be back. Being allowed to bring our dog was much appreciated.

06/11/2025: We came here because it was recommended in the Lonely Planet guide, but when we arrived it was closed – even though Google clearly shows it as open. Please update your opening hours so we don't make a wasted trip, thank you 🙏 Update: The opening hours aren't updated in real time, it's true, but they are updated quickly if you request it, probably within 24 hours. It would be even faster to do this than to reply to comments :)

06/01/2026: We went with a group of 26 friends to lunch at this delightful little restaurant in the heart of Otranto on January 3, 2026. We were welcomed by Mrs. Doriana with warmth and kindness. The food and price were excellent. I highly recommend it.

03/01/2026: We wandered in by chance on a (very cold) December 31st, and without a reservation, they welcomed us and served us an excellent seafood dinner for New Year's Eve! Excellent value for money, attentive and unobtrusive service (despite the restaurant obviously being full).

07/01/2026: Aside from the price (€80 per person), the negative thing that most influenced this review was the waiter's response to the request for a discount. He said, "The discount at the supermarket." There are many ways to respond, and in a crowded place, a loud response like that wouldn't even be given in a dive... the food was good, but for that price, I'd prefer something else. P.S. After the review, I was contacted by the owner who made some strange allusions to our status. I hope he doesn't do that to everyone who goes and has a bad experience... I'm reposting the previously flagged and obscured review.

The desserts, made directly by the inn, were exquisite and a fitting end to an excellent dinner. The staff was extremely kind and professional, from the telephone reservation to the welcome at the table. The waiters listed the dishes with passion and expertise, making the choice even more enjoyable. The location is unique and charming, located in the heart of Mattinata's historic center. The covered terrace, enclosed by glass windows, made for a warm and welcoming evening, despite the weather outside being less than ideal. Special highlights: the local scaldatelli, the delicious olives, the chilled sparkling water, and the impeccable presentation of the dishes. A place I highly recommend and will definitely return to. It's always a pleasure to find places like this, where the quality of the food and hospitality come together to create an unforgettable experience. *Compliments to Locanda del Farrier for the excellent service and high-quality cuisine!*"

10/12/2025: I had lunch with my family on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. It was a pleasant discovery: excellent food, impeccable service, and a very small and intimate location worth revisiting. Recommended.
