Finally a real italian quality of meals (after a week of searching around Puglia)! Simple yet refined and flavorful, fresh and healthy. Bruschetta on the house that is to die for. Pasta that looks like there is little sauce to it, yet it has sooo much flavor! Big forest mushrooms on ravioli, lots of well prepared veggies…We were overall very pleased, including the hospitality and friendliness of the stuff (especially since we had a tired hungry little child with us). Not too pricy neither.👏

Wonderful culinary experience in Monte Sant'Angelo. We had lunch yesterday as a couple, having booked a few days in advance. Since we were traveling by motorcycle, we were looking for the right balance between flavor and lightness. The lady at the entrance welcomed us with warmth and hospitality, recommending a delicious organic wine. The "Medioevo" restaurant offers excellent Apulian cuisine: we skipped the appetizer to avoid weighing ourselves down, ordering the first course directly (orecchiette Medieval-style for my boyfriend and orecchiette with turnip greens for me), but we also received a welcome treat (a parcel filled with prosciutto and a handful of olives) to start. For the main course, we chose caciocavallo podolico for me, lamb for my boyfriend, and burrata for my partner. To finish, we shared a berry parfait, coffee, and house liqueur (it was so good we asked for a second glass). It was truly a perfect meal. The atmosphere was refined and pleasant, but what we really appreciated, besides the quality of the food, was the courtesy and professionalism of the entire staff (well done, Simone!). We went to the Medioevo Restaurant in Monte Sant'Angelo, and I have to say it was a truly unforgettable experience. You can immediately sense that this is a zero-mile restaurant where the ingredients are the absolute protagonist. We started with spectacular fava beans and chicory, with extraordinary fava beans and a truly top-notch chicory, accompanied by a platter of top-quality local cured meats and cheeses, each one more delicious than the last. You can tell the chef has thirty years of experience, because he truly knows how to pamper his guests. For our first course, we had ravioli filled with local ricotta and porcini mushrooms from Gargano, which were out of this world. For our second course, we opted for local lamb, which was exceptional, both the grilled one with the flavorful liver rolls and the lamb cooked with potatoes and vegetables, which was incredibly tender. We finished on a high note with desserts, also made by the chef, including a creamy tiramisu, ricotta and chocolate tarts with jam, and the famous almond-filled wafer served in a beautiful composition. It is an excellent restaurant that I recommend with my eyes closed to anyone looking for true quality.

Even though it was freezing outside, the warmth inside enveloped us and warmed us. We were warmly welcomed by two very courteous and professional young waiters, Giovanni and Gianmarco, who guided us and advised us on our culinary choices, always answering our every question with a smile. The food was excellent and authentic. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Monte Sant'Angelo because everyone was friendly and helpful.
