11/08/2024: We went to this restaurant at the beginning of August, on a midweek evening. The place is well-kept and very beautiful, you can see it right from the entrance. We were greeted by the waiters and Mr. Santini. They stood out for their friendliness, kindness and availability, never intrusive or affected, never cloying or excessively, nor rude or forgotten. We chose a "Fisherman's Menu" tasting menu, challenging to get to the end (for those who tolerate small portions) and each dish was a discovery of perfection and flavours. Everything balanced, authentic flavours, nothing to complain about. Worthy of mention in the long menu are the lobster terrine with caviar, a superb foie gras with raisin wine sauce and the inevitable traditional tortelli: pumpkin tortelli (they look like grandma's. A starred grandma) delicious and also appreciated by guests who usually don't eat them due to the presence of mustard and amaretti. The service has always been perfect, never excessive, never forgotten (even though the room was full), never felt uncomfortable, the explanations of the dishes were exhaustive, friendly waiters ready for dialogue, always attentive to the needs of the table, but discreet. We also lingered under the portico overlooking the internal garden, refreshed by a waterfall from the roof which gave a particular background to the place. We really enjoyed our stay in this place which has maintained its three stars for a long time and is worth it. Congratulations and thanks for a wonderful evening.

27/07/2024: The TOP!!! impeccable service. Guys super prepared on everything. Very good food. They also accepted my dog ​​who fortunately was good. I praised the risotto but the tomato terrine perhaps surpasses it. And thanks again so much because since the next day is my birthday they celebrated me super!!!!

07/08/2024: Welcoming place, staff (perhaps they are the owners) attentive to every detail. Delicious dishes......the pumpkin tortelli...fantastic. And what about the desserts....super. Small details that express attention such as bringing sweets with coffee. Excellent value for money. We will definitely be back. Compliments to the chef and staff/owners.

05/06/2024: I read with great sadness that this exceptional restaurant that accompanied my life and that of my family closed on Sunday. Here I celebrated my confirmation and... my wedding. I will miss the kindness of Mr Tano and his staff, the elegance of the room, with its paintings and the round tables in the corners. I will regret his Mantuan cuisine at the highest levels. Thank you for the beautiful, unforgettable moments spent pleasantly at the Cigno.

04/06/2024: Torno al Cigno dopo tanti, tanti anni, ora che sta per cambiare ..bandiera. Sempre una bella serata, d'altri tempi, come ricordavo. Servizio impeccabile, locale che sa di antico/nobile, menù per certi versi anche moderno con piatti inaspettati (antipasto di una terrina di pomodori spettacolare già solo nell'idea). Ma anche grande tradizione mantovana, quasi leggera. Conto adeguato ma non inaspettato. Tutto bello, Tano con il suo "papillon" (mi pare rosso) che viene a salutarti quando vai via, sulla porta, sono cose che si ricorderanno sempre oltre la sua cucina. Atzalut!

The owner… chef, greets guests with a light and precious presence both for the choice of dishes and for the wine pairings. Prices within the norm of good refined food. Well done!!!

12/08/2024: Family restaurant founded over 200 years ago (1802). Five people stopped for dinner on Sunday 12 August. We could see that the positive reviews are fully deserved. Excellent product quality, kindness and good service times (considering that the place was quite full). We recommend booking by telephone. Among the dishes we recommend: cold cuts, octopus tentacles with burrata and mixed salad, stew with polenta. Among the desserts: the decomposed tiramisu, good and original.

09/08/2024: For an outdoor family dinner with children. A trattoria immersed in the Mantua countryside but easily accessible. Great food, great service and good prices. Fast and friendly. Well done

25/08/2024: Ritorniamo spesso, da oltre dieci anni, in questo piccolo ed accogliente agriturismo, è diventato una tappa fissa irrinunciabile! Menù d’eccellenza, curati nei particolari, gustosi e con una presentazione mirabile dei piatti. Il menù “Fichissimo”di oggi è uno dei nostri preferiti ed imperdibile! E, come previsto, ancora una volta ci ha entusiasmato: buonissimo! Consigliatissimo per chi ancora non lo conosce!

18/07/2024: We ate very well, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice. We took the "35 year menu", it was so abundant that two could eat it, tasty and well looked after. The house wine was excellent and we paid a fair price. I highly recommend.

19/08/2024: I come every year to eat at the Locanda and every time I am satisfied. Very good traditional menu, especially the tagliatelle with duck ragù. Excellent choice of desserts. The staff goes out of their way to put customers at ease. Prices are average

18/08/2024: We had dinner there on the occasion of the Fiera delle Grazie 2024, and it was a real pleasure! The pumpkin tortelli were excellent, the risotto alla pilota was exquisite and the cotechino was absolutely sublime, which we accompanied with a side of sauerkraut (an unexpectedly pleasant combination, with the acidity of the sauerkraut marrying perfectly with the fattiness of the cotechino) and beans , pork rinds and polenta (which on the menu would be an appetizer... but with cotechino it's the death of it!). Among the desserts, the chocolate salami with cream and the very Mantovani sbrisolona cake with zabaglione are very popular. All washed down with another classic: Lambrusco Mantovano, dark red in color and sweet on the palate. Also worthy of mention are the staff, quick and always smiling and kind despite the pressure due to the many people who came for the Fair. Prices are average, with a truly high quality/price ratio.

The restaurant offers a first course of the day while there is a well-stocked buffet of vegetables, cold second and first courses (and desserts!!) available to eat as much as you want. Highly recommended for a lunch at very honest prices with the feeling of feeling at home
