I don't know what to say. The staff were incredibly friendly, the dishes were exquisite, the food was clean, and the selection was excellent. In short, going there only once definitely leaves a lasting impression. I ate: the snails, which I enjoyed, despite being reluctant to try the main ingredient; the French onion soup (the best dish in the world, executed masterfully); the beef in olive oil (to rival the best restaurants in Brescia); and the express tiramisu (controversial note: the cheesecake I wanted wasn't there!). Everything was excellent. I'll be back specifically for the trio of first courses, which should be their signature dish. I recommend everyone try it.

Hostaria Viola was truly a wonderful discovery. We were looking for somewhere away from the touristy areas, and here we found just what we were looking for.
The menu is very interesting, with local ingredients and options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.
The fresh stuffed pasta is excellent, with special mention for the ravioli with bitter herbs and the agnolotti.
The main courses are also delicious, with spectacular pike and creamed cod.
The desserts are not to be missed; the whole wheat apple pie is truly delicious.
The staff are kind and welcoming; we really had a great time.
