30/03/2026: Where is the hospitality here? That evening, only four tables were occupied: three Italian guests and us. When the owner wasn't cooking in the kitchen, he was sitting at the Italian tables chatting with them. We weren't even acknowledged with a glance or a "tutto bene?" (everything alright?). We didn't feel welcome at all. The food was okay, but nothing special. The waiter was quick and considerably more hospitable than the owner.

08/03/2026: We came for lunch by chance... And it's become one of those few favorite places, those places where when you want to eat out you say, "I'll go to Beach, I eat well and leave satisfied." The appetizers are excellent, the first courses are exceptional, and the second courses are unsurpassed... Generous portions, always fresh ingredients, dishes prepared to order. Artisanal desserts. Added value: local wines and olive oil from small local businesses. Finally, the friendliness and warmth of the entire staff, a very kind Barbara who, together with Michel, know how to welcome you, and an exceptional chef, Antonio, who puts his heart into what he does. An enviable location, just 3 meters from the sea.

08/04/2026: The hotel is very well located next to the casino in the city center. There's a bit of noise in the morning for all the sea-facing rooms, but the main issue is the lack of parking. There is a public parking lot opposite the hotel, which is paid, but be aware that on market days or other events, the parking lot must be vacated.

31/03/2026: Bad experience. We booked Express for my wife's birthday, but the spa was out of service. The booking confirmation stated that spa access was available on the dates we booked. Upon arrival at the hotel, the staff said the spa was closed for renovations, but they didn't inform us that we wouldn't have access during our reservation. They told us to go to Spa Europe, which cost €100 per person per day. We decided to leave the hotel and request a refund, which we still haven't received since January. We ended up staying at Hotel Europe because for €90 more we got a better room with spa access. Scamming people is not very cool.

21/12/2025: 3 pieces of white focaccia, 1 small piece with onions, and 1 small piece of sardines, total €11. Prices, in my opinion, are disproportionate to what you get. I definitely won't be returning. I personally don't recommend it.

04/03/2026: Excellent and friendly service. Unique location overlooking the sea, truly delicious seafood. The strength of this place is its simplicity, not to be missed if you come to Arma di Taggia!

30/01/2026: A lovely discovery. A restaurant with a terrace overlooking the sea, the atmosphere is very basic, but we tried the fish first course of the day, the desserts, and the accompanying focaccia: everything was delicious and reasonably priced, with friendly service.

05/03/2026: Great experience, the dishes offered are all homemade and very good. Then, as was the custom in the old days, they come back several times to ask for seconds. Excellent service, reasonable price.

01/10/2025: Judging by the over-whelming review responses so far being combative rather than accepting, I did wonder if it were worth writing this. After all, isn’t one positive aspect of an honest review being that those responsible for the establishment can improve? I visited with my husband - one night stay. First things first, acknowledgment where it is due, the owners/people at this establishment are lovely and are intent on giving good service. All are very friendly and courteous -but other than this element, I’m afraid I’m at a loss as to why many other reviews are so at odds with our own recent experience. The views, of course, are absolutely stunning ….. but when that’s been said, nothing else is anywhere close to acceptable, let alone impressive. It’s obvious that the picture-book location is expected to deflect any and all expectations of comfort. There really is precious little. Please don’t expect that the photos were taken this side of the millennium, and at that fast-receding point in time, the decoration and facilities were more than likely passable - but having clearly had zero investment in the fabric since, it has become tired and massively past its sell-by date and in dire need of maintenance on a grand scale. It has to be said, however, that as some buildings fall into decrepitude, they become oddly iconic. Perhaps this is a case in point….. but be warned, don’t expect anything less than an authentic Adam’s Family mansion experience complete with incredible, breath-taking views.

21/09/2025: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel La Riserva di Castel d'Appio. The place is full of charm, the view is magnificent, and the setting is very relaxing. The staff is charming and efficient, whether at reception, at breakfast, or in the restaurant. The rooms are comfortable and the food is of high quality. We will gladly return!

16/03/2026: Delicious ice cream and very friendly staff. Even my little mistake of helping myself to the ice cream spoons on the counter was met with a friendly response, and I was politely informed that this wasn't acceptable and that the spoons would be handed to me by a server.

08/03/2026: The artisanal ice cream is very good, and they serve it very quickly. It's spacious and welcoming.

28/03/2026: Every time I return to Imperia, I visit this wonderful wine bar. The wine list is extensive and includes many gems. The atmosphere is relaxed, and you can enjoy excellent dishes to accompany your meal.

04/04/2026: The service is incredibly fast (you don't even have time to order before you're served!) but it's pushy. The food is good, but definitely overpriced for what you get.

25/02/2026: Aside from the pretty waitress, there's nothing positive to report. The food is served in under three minutes, which basically means it's just reheated. My Pasta Mare had absolutely no seafood except for the seaweed. The service was pushy. It's a shame this restaurant is praised in the 2024 travel guide. The ambiance is actually nice, but the mold on the ceiling is unacceptable. That's all I have to say about that.

28/11/2025: A real discovery, just steps from the main street of Diano Marina. Huge sandwiches, incredible flavor, and super cheap!! We paid €6.80 for two sandwiches. Intrigued by the size of the sandwiches, when I got to the apartment I weighed mine (a 3-pack). 580 grams!!! Incredible. Delicious. True, as many comments say, hygiene and cleanliness are their weak points, but it's definitely worth it, since we came back the next day!

25/12/2025: A unique place. Very small but with a huge variety of homemade focaccias and pizzas. The focaccias and pizzas are always fresh because they're made throughout the day. The simple ones are available from early in the morning, and the more elaborate ones come out around lunchtime. Excellent quality and deliciousness, even for health-conscious eaters. Excellent coffee and a family atmosphere. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
