27/06/2025: We spent a wonderful, balmy summer evening on the Pietra terrace, enjoying the drinks (fantastic bartender!). The rabbit with rosemary potatoes was particularly delicious, and we highly recommend the pears braised in spices and wine with ice cream. The mix of locals and an international clientele is quite unusual. We look forward to our next visit.

13/06/2025: Writing a review of this 3-star "Hotel" is not easy. Yes, because, reading other reviews, apart from one, the others speak of a structure that absolutely did not reflect what we experienced. Arriving late in the evening, we were told that there was no garage, when at the time of booking, on the phone I had been confirmed the possibility of putting the motorcycle in the garage. GOOD, BUT LET'S GO IN ORDER. THE ROOMS: I WOULD FIRST NOTE THAT WE STAYED FOR TWO NIGHTS AND THE ROOM WAS NEITHER REDONE NOR CLEANED, AS THE RULES OF A 3-STAR HOTEL REQUIRE! WE TAKE THE ROOM CALLED "SUPERIOR" BECAUSE, ACCORDING TO THE MANAGEMENT, IT HAS THE LARGEST BATHROOM. ONCE WE HAVE TAKEN POSSESSION OF THE ROOM, WE REALIZE, WANT TO TAKE A SHOWER, AFTER HOURS AND HOURS OF MOTORCYCLE, THAT THE 3 STAR HOTEL DOES NOT OFFER A SIMPLE HAIR DRYER, WHICH I HAVE TO ASK FOR, THE SAME FATE FOR SHAMPOO OR SHOWER GEL, ONLY TWO, PROVIDED FOR TWO DAYS OF STAY, PRACTICALLY IF THE CUSTOMER DOESN'T ASK FOR IT, THEY SIMPLY DON'T BOTHER TO GIVE IT.. THE "SUPERIOR" ROOM HAS MOSQUITO NETS, BUT THEY OBVIOUSLY CANNOT ELIMINATE THE DANGER OF MOSQUITOES, SINCE I HAVE TO ELIMINATE REAL HELICOPTERS (I TOOK PHOTOS) WHICH FORTUNELY DO NOT STING BUT WHICH TO SEE, AND ABOVE ALL HEARING YOURSELF AT NIGHT IS NOT PLEASANT. THE SHOWER, VERY SMALL, BUT THE UNACCEPTABLE THING IS TO SEE PIGEON DROPPINGS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BATHROOM WINDOW! NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE HAVE KEPT THE BATHROOM WINDOW CLOSED AT ALL TIMES. FORGET ABOUT A MINI FRIDGE, FORGET ABOUT A CLOSET, BUT ONLY A COAT RACK ALONG THE WALL. THE BED: IF YOU LIKE THE 80'S METAL MESH BASE, THEN IT'S PERFECT, INCLUDING METALLIC NOISES AFTERWARDS. THE MATTRESS, INSUFFICIENT. BREAKFAST. IN MANY YEARS OF HONORABLE BIKERS ACTIVITY, I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A BARRELLING AND ABOVE ALL UNACCEPTABLE BREAKFAST. SHOULD I DESCRIBE IT? IT IS ENOUGH TO SAY THAT ON THE SECOND MORNING A CUSTOMER WENT TO GET CROISSANTS AT THE BAR DEL BORGO. THE MUCH-VALUED CUISINE? NOT AVAILABLE! ON THE SECOND EVENING, WE TOLD ONE OF THE GIRLS THAT WE WOULD HAVE LIKED TO DO THE HALF-BOARD MENU, BECAUSE, AS IT WAS A PIZZA ROUND EVENING AT THEIR PLACE AND WE PREFERRED TO EAT TYPICAL CUISINE, WE DID NOT FEEL LIKE EATING PIZZA. WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS EASILY POSSIBLE AND THEY OFFERED US SOME TORTELLINI, RABBIT....EHM....YES...TOO BAD THAT WE RETURNED AFTER LESS THAN AN HOUR, AND AFTER ASKING ANOTHER GIRL FROM THE STAFF, WE WERE LITERALLY TOLD THAT WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO EAT, NEITHER TORTELLINI, NOR RABBIT, NOR PIZZA! BECAUSE THE PLACE WAS BY NOW FULL. WHILE THE GIRL WAS EVEN RAISING DOUBT THAT WE HAD MADE PREVIOUS AGREEMENTS ON THE MENU, CLAIMING THAT WE HAD NOT TALKED TO HER AND THAT SHE WOULD HAVE ASKED FOR CONFIRMATION, IN THE MEANTIME SHE CONTINUED TO NOT CARE ABOUT US WHO WERE WAITING, AND CONTINUED TO PREPARE FOR THE PIZZA ROUND. WE PRACTICALLY WAITED FOR HALF AN HOUR FOR HER TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM, AS SHE HAD SAID, FORTUNATELY THEY MANAGED TO BOOK AT A RESTAURANT NEARBY AND WE WERE ABLE TO EAT THERE, OTHERWISE WE WOULD HAVE ALSO REMAINED HUNGRY. THE NEXT DAY, WE ONLY DRINK AN ORANGE DRINK, PACKED OUR BAGS AND LEFT AWAY VERY HAPPY, TO BE ABLE TO HAVE A REAL BREAKFAST. THE ONLY THING WE LIKED? THE ATMOSPHERE, OF THE WHOLE VILLAGE. THE 3 STAR HOTEL "LA PIETRA" HAS A LONG WAY TO GO TO DEFINE ITSELF AS A 3 STAR. PS: DON'T FORGET TO ASK FOR THE WIFI PASSWORD, OTHERWISE IF YOU HOPE TO FIND THE INFORMATION IN THE ROOM LIKE ANY SELF-RESPECTING HOTEL, THEN YOU WILL HAVE A BAD SURPRISE. THERE IS NO TV, THE ONLY THING THAT IS WRITTEN ON THE SITE. THIS WAS OUR EXPERIENCE. TESTIFIED BY PHOTOS. THE PRICE IS ABSOLUTELY UNJUSTIFIED FOR WHAT THEY OFFER.

30/12/2025: We often go to this pizzeria because the quality is so good. The menu features pizzas, sandwiches, and steaks, and the names are fun, as they're named after different parts of the town. They use excellent ingredients, including local ones. The service is friendly; Simone, the owner, makes you feel at ease. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality and quantity. They always offer takeout, even during peak hours. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

16/10/2025: The pizza dough is rubbery, and the toppings are tasteless and lack any flavor. The beers are also nothing special. I strongly advise against this place.

04/11/2025: It's always a real pleasure to spend a few days at Locanda del Castello. Massimo is a wonderful and friendly host and a skilled chef. The menu is extensive and excellent. The staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly. A must-visit!

08/10/2025: Massimo and Serena are beautiful people. Food was absolutely delicious. Unique presentation of tiramisu but very tasty.

25/02/2026: We were very pleased with the restaurant overall. We went for lunch without any expectations, and I must say the service was excellent. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for good food in Siena.

25/11/2025: The wait for a pizza was very long, over an hour...which you can't even call a pizza! Gluten-free is fine, but only recommended for celiacs.

24/11/2025: Unfortunately, with a lot of professional experience in the restaurant industry, I have to be honest and give this absolutely negative review, but I would like it to also serve as an incentive to do better, because constructive criticism is also necessary. Honestly, the menu offers a wide selection, even too extensive and really puts you in difficulty. You can't offer a choice of 89 pizzas... and not only that... it only confuses ideas and puts the customer in difficulty, also because if I have to wait over an hour for a pizza... The service was truly poor, two waiters for 35 covers... after bringing drinks and taking reservations, they only showed up to deliver us, during the agonizing wait of over an hour for 14 pizzas (by the way, they only served two at a time... we need to understand...), two mini baskets of French fries that the kids devoured... perhaps it would have been more appropriate to have suggested that there was a long wait... but what left me stunned was that they never reassured the customer by apologizing for the abnormal delay... I repeat, I have no idea and I don't want to judge what happened that evening... there's always a reason... but it certainly doesn't seem like they were up to the task of handling the situation. Basically, I ate my pizza after an hour and a half of waiting when I could have gotten up and left out of desperation but more out of hunger... without anyone noticing... cherry tomatoes mistaken for tomatoes..... champignons mushrooms were not fresh and I don't know what kind of mushrooms they were.... it practically seemed like I was eating carasau bread topped with pizza because it was so dry.... The karaoke night was nice, but with such a small space it is impossible to even converse with the person in front of you.. that's why it would be appropriate in my opinion to develop it in other more suitable and appropriate environments, also for safety reasons, because when people get up and start dancing.... Bad evening?! It can happen... but sorry to say... I definitely won't be back.

21/10/2025: Last weekend, I found myself with my partner spending a wonderful weekend in the Siena hills. During our visit to the city, we decided to have lunch, just in time for lunch, and were welcomed by the Antica Trattoria Stalloreggi... The quality of the cured meats on the platter was worthy of the best hospital-style Camst, even in appearance. The pici were perfectly made; even the guanciale was flavorless and overpowered by the glue that seemed to coat the pasta (it's cooked in boiling water). Unfortunately, the waitress was left alone to serve when the place was almost full, so she was probably tired but polite, fortunately more so than the house white wine. Let's conclude with the setting, which is in a beautiful village in the center of Siena, simple and rustic, typical of a hillside trattoria. The prices are absolutely unreasonable for the quality: €60 for an appetizer, a first course, two vegetable side dishes, half a liter of colored water (called wine)... if you're going for coffee, highly recommended. Thanks anyway

05/11/2025: We brought our 20 students here for a pasta workshop and a three-course meal. It was fantastic! The food and service were outstanding. The children were captivated by the atmosphere and learned to appreciate Italian culture.

08/02/2026: I was at the restaurant recently, and to be honest, the food wasn't bad. The only flaw was the owner in the jacket. We ordered an appetizer of crostini and chicken livers, pappardelle, wild boar, and veal in Brunello. After bringing the dishes, he told us the veal wasn't ready yet and would take at least 30 minutes to an hour. We initially decided to wait and started eating. The owner brought us more crostini while we waited, of his own free will, due to the inconvenience. After a good half hour, we asked about the veal, but he told us it would take another hour. We had a visit to Antinori in the afternoon, so we decided to leave. When it came time to pay, here's the deal. In the first bill, he listed not one, but three portions of crostini, and the veal that never arrived. We immediately exposed him by pointing out the mistake, and he took the veal away. At that point, teased, we also disputed the two additional portions of crostini that had arrived, which we hadn't requested but had been brought by him due to the mistake. He dismissively removes one of the two additions. Recommended place for the food, but he should learn to run a restaurant. The atmosphere needs rethinking; put two split air conditioning units instead of the stove in the middle of the room.

16/11/2025: The food was really good. It's a modern restaurant with a large window next to a vending machine. You'd expect a no-frills menu for workers. And I think they do something along those lines on weekdays. On weekends (it was a Saturday), they offer an à la carte menu, with normal prices, for both meat and fish. The quality was really good. A lovely mixed fish appetizer and a mixed grill, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

24/01/2026: Among my favorite pizzas in Gaiole, it's now a weekly ritual to get a calzone and a pizza from Corrado, who always greets you with a smile and a joke, and the pizzas are always hot and ready to go. In the summer, you can also enjoy light, easily digestible, and perfectly cooked pizzas outside.

23/12/2025: This small takeaway pizzeria is a key local staple in Gaiole in Chianti, thanks to the dedication of owner Corrado Ciamparini: delicious, flavorful pizza, never heavy, easily digestible, and always reasonably priced.

21/12/2025: Super warm atmosphere! My crazy friends and I had a blast! The staff was always courteous and friendly, super lovely 🥰 especially the waitress Eleonora, who gave us great advice and served us perfectly 🔝 and she and her colleague were super friendly with their reindeer horns 🤣 And then, the pinsa was super good, we're telling you! My friends and I will be back super soon, one of the best nights ever 🥰

05/07/2025: Anno dopo anno sempre una conferma a Bagno Vignoni. Prodotti eccellenti, sapori tradizionali di grandissimo livello e tutto condito da semplicità e un bel giardino. Insomma rapporto qualità prezzo davvero eccezionale. Purtroppo quest'anno non avevano la panzanella, ma non mancherà occasione in futuro per rimangiarla.
