30/09/2025: We ate here twice in a row. Although the owner didn't speak English, he still tried to communicate with us. The restaurant is not very big, but the food is surprisingly delicious. I really like the porcini mushrooms with charcoal grilled steak. The pizza and black truffle pasta are also delicious.

21/10/2025: If you are driving in Italy you can't go wrong with Si Montalcino Hotel. Clean, well kept with a very friendly staff. great parking that is close to the hotels lobby. It's only 5 minutes away from Montalcino which is a nice place to visit.

11/08/2025: We stayed a few days and had a great time. The rooms are simple and, in my opinion, could use some updating. However, the service is top-notch and the staff is extremely friendly. Breakfast was excellent.

11/09/2025: We were a part of 11 and we all enjoyed this restaurant that much we went twice. Staff were very friendly and nothing was any trouble . Food was bello and it all came out at the same time 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽 I would highly recommend

09/09/2025: DELICIOUS LUNCH INSIDE A CASTLE ! My wife and I arrived in Florence by Bullet Train from Rome on Sunday, March 23rd. A well appointed king suite on the 5th floor of the luxurious Hotel Berchielli would be HOME for the next 4 days. Hard to beat that view of the picturesque River Arno ! We had a couple of day tours planned while in Florence and had engaged the services of our fav limo tour driver Martin who knew the ropes around here better than most. And more than that Martin had become our good friend since we first used his services 18 months before when he drove us from Florence to Bologna via the scenic route. On Monday Martin picked us up out front to begin our road tour of Tuscany. AMAZING SCENERY EVERYWHERE ! We stopped at Piazza del Campo for a look around...Siena Cathedral was beautiful ! In the distance I could see a large structure that looked like a castle. I said to Martin that I had never seen a castle....then we will go there Michael was his reply. Martin let us out at the front entrance while he parked the limo...and then he joined us within a few minutes. WOW ! What we could see out front sure looked majestic. NOTE ! San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena, Tuscany, north-central Italy. Known as the Town of Five Towers, San Gimignano is famous for its medieval architecture, unique in the preservation of about a dozen of its tower houses which with its hilltop setting and encircling walls, form "an unforgettable skyline". In the 3rd century BC a small Etruscan village stood on the site of San Gimignano. Shortly after we entered through the front gate my wife bought a beautiful Italian wide brimmed straw hat to replace the one left behind on the Bullet Train. We walked along the pristine paved paths looking at the wide variety of small businesses designed to please the hordes of tourists who visit here. At around 1pm we decided it was time to have some lunch and Martin knew the perfect spot...La Biscondola. We found a level table on the sloping outdoor patio and a smiling server named Giusy brought us menus. FIRST UP ! I ordered a bottle of Vale Blonde Ale to come out with our glasses of iced waters. I also asked Guisy to bring me a tall stem glass. FOOD ! I wasn't really sure what I wanted so I thought ordering a Bruschetta would be a good start. My wife and Martin both went with serves of Zuppa Toscana di Farro ( Tuscan spelled soup ). My ice cold blonde ale in a tall stem glass tasted very good. SUPER FAST SERVICE ! Before we knew it our server Giusy brought everything out to our table. My wife and our friend Martin commented how satisfying their soups tasted....it was a chilly day. OMG ! When I ordered my bruschetta I figured it would be a small serve and then I would order something else. BIGGEST BRUSCHETTA EVER ! But I tell you what....it was totally delicious. DESSERT ! We had plans to buy gelatos at a very famous gelateria up the street but some sort of cake sounded nice. When I was checking out inside a bit earlier I saw this interesting looking cake on the bar counter. Giusy told me it was called Panforte Fichi e Noci ( figs, nuts, honey ). Everyone agreed we should have some. Soon after Giusy brought out 6 thin slices on a platter...it tasted dense, rich and very flavorsome. We loved it. I had a lovely chat with Stefania the owner before we headed off on our merry way. A VERY ENJOYABLE LUNCH !

21/09/2025: High-quality gelato with a wide variety of flavors! The pistachio is one of the best I've ever had. The welcoming and friendly staff make this gelato shop a place to return to! Highly recommended!!!

16/09/2025: The best chocolate ice cream I've ever had. The rest of the ice creams are also very good, especially the pistachio. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by and trying them. The waitress is very friendly.

30/09/2025: Family lunch on Sunday. There were 14 of us, and everyone was able to choose different dishes from the menu, all of which were delicious. Despite the variety of dishes, the service was excellent; it's not easy to serve 14 people with different dishes at the same time. Well done!

31/08/2025: Terrible. Avoid celiacs. They say on the phone that they have products for celiacs, and when you walk in the door, a big sign awaits you stating that there's a risk of contamination for celiacs. And that's exactly what happened; I ended up with a nasty mouth ulcer. Also, my husband ordered a pizza with burrata, and shortly afterward he had bouts of diarrhea. A very negative experience.

13/04/2025: They say they are open all day, till late evening. We modified our route to Siena to eat there, only to discover that the kitchen was closed (at 15.00). It was a big disappointment.

13/04/2025: Both the food and the service were perfect. We arrived without a reservation and they treated us wonderfully.

11/10/2025: We stopped in for a pizza at 2:45 when it said they closed at 3:30 and they denied a service. Do not go here!!!

The hotel offers an incredible variety of activities, all perfectly organized and thoughtfully designed to showcase the best of Tuscany — from cooking classes and wine tastings to relaxing pool experiences and scenic walks. Every day brought something new to discover. We tried both restaurants, and each meal was unforgettable — beautifully presented, full of authentic flavor, and prepared with so much care. Dining here was easily among the best culinary experiences we’ve had in Italy. The location is ideal, with Florence and Siena each about an hour’s drive away along a smooth and picturesque road. Every detail of our stay — the rooms, the service, the food, the surroundings — was flawless. Without a doubt, this is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at in Italy. Thank you to the entire team for making our experience so memorable. We can’t wait to return very soon to this little piece of Tuscan paradise!

15/10/2025: A refined place, but the staff isn't always up to par. We often go for aperitifs or dinner; it's a pleasant place and easy on the eyes.

There are two reasons for this: the first, the delicious food, and the second, Laurène and her colleagues, simply fantastic employees who enjoy their work and the service. We were thrilled with the food and Laurène, and both evenings were truly special. Thank you so much! We'd love to come back! 🤗

28/08/2025: Wonderful dinner overlooking the valley. Refined cuisine, friendly and professional service, and a lovely setting. I especially recommend the desserts—it's rare to find such good ones in the region. I'm truly happy to see that La Chiusa, a historic Montefollonico institution, continues to exist and offer exceptional gastronomic experiences.

20/10/2025: The waiters were very angry and the service was very bad. I have been to many countries but I have never come across such an establishment. I do not recommend anyone to go there!

18/10/2025: The rule that the customer is always right does not apply! It is inappropriate to wait for everyone to be at the table to serve you food, it is still free to consume. The waiters do not like you to order an additional drink, as it requires movement on their part. We would not repeat, despite the small selection in the village.
