07/10/2025: We were tempted by the reviews, and what can I say? We were not disappointed. The food was simply delicious (we had pici with wild boar and a Fiorentina steak – over a kilo, wine, beer, schnapps, and tiramisu). We were also asked what music we would like to listen to 😁. We can only share the positive reviews and recommend not being swayed by the entrance – the real gem (food and service) is inside. The owner is simply fantastic. The evening will be unforgettable. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and perfectly in tune with the medieval charm of the village. The outdoor garden is simply enchanting, perfect for a romantic dinner. The food? Extraordinary. From the handmade pasta, to the delicate and flavorful main courses, to the desserts that seem to have come straight from a family recipe book. Each dish is prepared with the freshest ingredients and with a care that is evident at first bite. All accompanied by an extensive wine list, featuring select local labels. The service was impeccable: courteous, attentive, and always smiling. You can sense the love for the region and the authentic hospitality. Being guests at Relais Palazzo del Capitano made everything even more special: it was like living, for a few days, in a Tuscan dream. The experience is complete, harmonious, and profoundly authentic. Highly recommended, both for those seeking authentic Tuscan cuisine and for those who wish to experience the soul of this extraordinary place. We will definitely be back.

05/10/2025: Rarely write reviews on here but left here feeling incredibly disappointed on our first night in Tuscany. We started with a soup, which tasted bland. The mains were passable, the pasta was where it clawed back a star, but the beef carpaccio, covered in raw mushrooms, was, in my opinion, mediocre. Wasn’t too keen on the ‘formal’ atmosphere, but it is a lovely building and some other guests looked like they were enjoying it. Preference, I guess. Staff were friendly and professional. Price was far too high for what it was. Wrote this as hope it helps the restaurant improve in a couple areas as it is in a fantastic location.

20/09/2025: Unfortunately, I only went there on my last evening. A very nice place, super friendly service – they also speak German – and the food is simply goooooood. One of the best pizzas and the burger – slightly pink with arugula, Parmesan, and olive oil. The whole thing wrapped in a crispy coating. Simply unbeatable. I'll be back next time. Thanks.

17/10/2025: While riding my motorcycle along the Eroica dirt roads, I stumbled upon this fantastic hotel/restaurant. It's a family-run hotel, and I was struck by the kindness and helpfulness of the owners and staff. The service was impeccable, with garage parking for motorcycles and bicycles. The room was cozy and, despite facing the street, very quiet. The bathroom was tidy and everything was spotlessly clean. I also had the pleasure of trying their simple yet delicious cuisine. The crostoni were excellent, and the tripe, made according to grandma's recipe, was fantastic, all washed down with a nice glass of Montalcino red. The breakfast, with both sweet and savory options, was also excellent. What more can I say? If I were to pass through the area again, I would definitely stay here. Excellent value for money. Best wishes to the owner, a motorcyclist whose name I don't remember, for her trip to Mont Saint Michel, although given the weather, I'd recommend postponing your stay.

12/10/2025: Everything was perfect, the room was perhaps a little dark with artificial lighting (the bedroom), the bathroom was fine. Everything you need was there, the cleanliness was top-notch, and the garage was closed for motorcyclists. The dinner was perfect... the chatter at the bar and the selection of whiskeys and rums were top-notch. The owner is a woman to be admired.

Radu was extremely kind and made our night with his warmth—he found the time to chat with us while cooking, serving, and bartending as the rest of his staff was ill. A special dinner that felt very different from the typical tourist experience.

23/08/2025: During our vacation, we returned to this taverna two or three times and were always thrilled. The food is excellent, especially the pasta dishes, which are truly delicious. The waitress was always kind, helpful, and attentive to every detail. The prices are also fair and not excessive, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good food, a warm welcome, and excellent value!
