19/05/2026: A cowboy themed trattoria specializing in steaks, but this last time 2 in our party of 6 ordered the steak and the rest of us were served our meals and after some time left, and it was another half hour before they ever got their steaks

11/06/2026: One of the best options to eat a meal in Barga and surrounding areas. Capretz offers traditional Italian food but also has other culinary options including Argentinian, American, and Mexican to name a few.
I ordered the steak and my wife ordered the goulash, both were amazing.
This was one of the best meals we had in Italy. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
11/06/2026: We came for lunch. We didn't need to book but there was a large table of 20 reserved so maybe best to if you can. Service was good and the staff understood English. We ordered a capretz platter to start, a capretz burger and a Mexican burger washed down with a small beer, water and an ice tea. It was quite warm but there is plenty of shade to cool down in. It's a short walk up a steep hill from the road but worth it.

13/06/2026: We were in Viareggio for the June 2nd long weekend, and had the pleasure of dining at La Barchina, enjoying freshly fried fish. A highly recommended place.
12/06/2026: Quick and easy dinner along the Viareggio harbor. Really good fried food, crispy and not too greasy. The shrimp and calamari were superb, but the cod was even better!! The girls working there were kind and friendly, truly lovely.
Highly recommended!!

27/07/2026: A good ice cream shop with quality ice cream. The pistachio ice cream is particularly delicious. Here, you pay for the cup, not the number of scoops. However, I'm only giving it 3 stars because of the service. The staff is neither warm nor friendly. I felt that Italian customers were greeted much more warmly than foreigners. The waitress simply placed my cup on the counter before immediately moving on to the next customer. A simple smile, a "bon appétit," or a "goodbye" would have been appreciated. It's a shame, because it spoils what could have been a very good experience.

12/07/2026: I have only two words for this place: authenticity and wonder.
The restaurant is nestled in a cultivated and wooded valley, its location affording a Garden of Eden-like view.
The sense of peace is immense; a dinner here is as rejuvenating as a week's vacation!
Almost all of the products used on the menu are homegrown.
The steamed and grilled vegetable dishes with chickpea hummus and peanut, thyme, and lemon pesto are a must.

11/08/2026: I followed the advice of a YouTuber from Lucca who is hilarious to hear and review some of his dishes. He recommended the tordelli, and we went for those, but the rest of the menu is also good and excellent value. My family knows the place, having been going there for years. In addition to the famous tordelli with ragù, we ordered pappa al pomodoro, pork loin with flan, and a quarter of wine.

05/08/2026: We found this place the first time we were in Lucca about 7 years ago and they made us feel so welcome and valued as a customer that it was the first place we made a bee line for on our recent visit. The weather was glorious this time though and we sat outside enjoying a few drinks in the sun. We also had food of various choices from the excellent meat and cheese platter to 3 different sandwiches that we all had a little try of each others.
The guys who work there are bang on it for service and attentiveness. They are so polite and friendly. We visited 4 times over our 2 day stay and would recommend it to anyone.

02/06/2026: We had lunch on the terrace, overlooking the sea. The menu is limited, just as I like it, and the dishes everyone chose were delicious and beautifully presented. The Ukrainian waitress who served us deserves a special mention: she was friendly and professional.

27/04/2026: This restaurant is truly a small oasis of tranquility and authenticity, nestled among the trees and the silence of rural Tuscany. Mrs. Marina and the other waitresses were incredibly kind and friendly! The food is very good, traditional and rustic, with prices that are also below average. I highly recommend it, even just for the atmosphere of dining among the trees.

They serve beer from the local brewery and have a small shop selling local goods

Excellent dishes... Ricotta and spinach tortelli with butter and sage are simply breathtaking... Excellent, in short... Signora Angela is very kind. We'll be back when we're passing through.
I recommend it for motorcyclists because they also have a shop with cheeses and cured meats.
Rustic atmosphere, just the way we like it.

27/06/2026: There was a party of 80 people dining when we got to the restaurant on a Friday evening. Nevertheless, the service to our table of 2 was excellent, a sign of an exceptionally well run restaurant. The food was excellent, and the piazza vibe while dining outside was lovely. Highly recommend this restaurant.
