12/07/2025: Frito Misto was a scam with almost no shrimps, just a lot of calamari with oil and too much flour. Very greasy. There are many places with much better fritto misto and other meals. I don’t understand how other people make all these delicious photo from these place. Definitely not recommend.

11/07/2025: My boyfriend and I stopped here for dinner, intrigued by the boat service... a discovery! Fantastic mixed fried food... quality ingredients, it melted in your mouth... the guys were friendly and fast.

10/07/2025: Beautiful restaurant, enchanting location, top-notch food and service. The €4 cover charge is justified by the service (welcome prosecco, fishballs, pastries, and cookies at the end), but not for an 11-month-old who didn't touch anything... did I pay for the high chair?

16/06/2025: In addition to tasting excellently prepared dishes, we immediately had the impression of being at the home of friends rather than strangers to the restaurant. Domenico prepares unique dishes, his very kind wife describes with true love the dishes and between the lines the highly appreciated chef and his wife. In addition to the dishes on the menu we tasted excellent wine (Borgheri) that we were also able to take with us by drawing directly from the restaurant's well-stocked and well-kept cellar. Coming to Versilia and not stopping by is a real shame!

14/05/2025: Siamo ritornati con piacere al Merlo ed è sempre una bella esperienza in questo locale elegante, posizionato sulla spiaggia con un rigoglioso giardino ben curato.. La cucina è raffinata, ben curata e di qualità elevata con ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Il servizio sempre molto cordiale, disponibile e professionale. Ritorniamo sempre molto volentieri e lo consiglio agli amanti del buon gusto.

01/07/2025: A wonderful discovery among the flavors of Garfagnana We came across it almost by chance while searching Google for a place to eat, and what a nice surprise! After booking a table for two, we were welcomed with kindness and made to sit under a charming outdoor veranda. The environment is simple but well-kept, perfect for enjoying a quiet dinner. The menu offers a rich selection of traditional Garfagnana dishes, with typical products and really interesting combinations. We started with the “della Capannina” appetizer: a riot of local flavors with cured meats, crostini, spelt and other delicacies. Next, spelt flour gnocchi with pecorino cheese fondue and speck (creamy and tasty), chestnut flour pappardelle with leeks and sausage (a rustic and well-balanced dish), and a surprising rabbit stuffed with sausage, black cabbage and chestnut sauce, accompanied by roast potatoes ordered separately. They even offered us a taste of fried porcini mushrooms! The ending was worthy of applause: chestnut fritters (Necci) with ricotta and chocolate, served in a generous tray of six pieces, even though there were only two of us! Generous portions, excellent quality, more than fair prices and a warm welcome. An experience that we enthusiastically recommend. See you next time!

The owners are of a rare kindness, welcoming and always available, making the experience even more pleasant. The location is also splendid: well-kept, welcoming and perfect for enjoying a moment of relaxation and good food. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back!

15/06/2025: Very nice place outside the walls of Lucca with a very ancient history, here you can find traditional Lucca dishes, pappa con il pomodoro, tordelli and rovellina!!! All very good and with that authentic taste of genuineness🤩 if you pass by Lucca go there it will not disappoint you 😋😋😋😋
