25/08/2025: We came here encouraged by the very good reviews, and indeed the atmosphere was nice and people generally friendly. However, the pasta with shrimp was far from what we expected: the pasta tasted reheated, and to our surprise there were actually two different types of pasta in the same dish… not exactly Italian. We mentioned it to the waitress, who assured us everything was fresh — and that was the end of the conversation. To be fair, the tagliata di manzo was good. We didn’t make a fuss and simply left. Perhaps it was just an unfortunate mistake… or maybe we were a little too much of the “tourist type.” Either way, a pity.

The food, prepared with local ingredients, offers some truly excellent dishes, while others are a bit disappointing... and the prices are fair. We'll definitely be back to try other dishes and perhaps change our opinion.

02/07/2025: An amazing Tuscan experience with fantastic hosts, go here if you want to experience real tradition and delicious home cooked food. Perfect for adults and children. Loads of great space for children to hang out and explore before and after dinner and an amazing friendly dog that everybody wished they owned ! Food absolutely delicious !!

11/05/2025: I went to Giannino's with about ten friends and the experience was excellent! Although the place is very simple and unpretentious, what we ate was delicious. Between Donatella's cuisine and Giannino's service, you can be sure of having an excellent, warm and welcoming dining experience. If I'm back in the area I will definitely stop by. The Osteria da Giannino warms the heart and makes the tummy happy!

25/08/2025: After many years, I regretfully change my review. The service is always very friendly, but unfortunately, the portions have been significantly reduced and the prices are inadequate. In particular, the mixed antipasto, which used to be the flagship, has become truly less than a taste.

23/08/2025: I found this restaurant almost by chance, open at noon, and after eating, I immediately booked for dinner the next day. The freshest fish, prepared with a touch of home-made excellence. A variety of dishes that invite you to return for a second or even a third time, to be sure you've enjoyed the entire menu. The generous portions are satisfying, as is the final bill, which is extremely fair, reflecting the quality and courtesy that Mr. Danilo shows his guests. Congratulations to everyone.

22/08/2025: We stopped by one evening during our stay in Grosseto. The atmosphere and setting were beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were forced to stay inside due to the heavy rain, but we passed the time with a couple of cacchiere and a good bottle of Montecucco. We had a truly delicious tagliata steak and a delicious crostini with burrata and anchovies. The price was reasonable for what we ate. Highly recommended.

08/09/2025: We're not quite there. All these reviews, most of them enthusiastic, and yet the food is decidedly mediocre. The clam crostini consist of three slices of bread topped with a red sauce made from shelled lupin beans! Do you really serve shellfish on bread? Evidently, given the price (€4), they had no alternatives to make the dish seem paltry (there were 4-5 lupin beans on each slice of bread). The ground crostini were decent, but not even close to the liver crostini we've eaten so many times in Tuscany. For the second course, fresh grilled fish. Everything else had an asterisk because it was frozen, so we asked for grilled sea bass. It actually said fresh, not wild-caught. It was, in fact, one of the worst farmed sea bass you can find in the supermarket. €14 for a fresh-caught fish, after all, would be unthinkable. Then the steak. Perfectly cut, tender but with no marbling, much less dry-aging. Mediocre flavor. €4 per 100 grams. Last but not least, the chickpeas I ordered as a side dish. They had opened a can of ready-made chickpeas and poured the contents, with all the liquid, into a bowl that they probably heated in the microwave. Disgraceful. I didn't pay for these because I reported it at the cashier. When the cook came to give me the bill, I preferred not to waste time recounting everything I'm writing. "The chickpeas weren't good? Yeah, but I don't know how they make them." She was wearing an apron and came from the kitchen. Ultimately, a complete fail. It costs less, but for me, it's absolutely not worth it.

15/08/2025: We've been going there for over 10 years when I return from Milan to my native Maremma. We've always had excellent lunches and dinners there at reasonable prices. This August 2025, however, we've been there three times in a row, and on all three occasions, we've eaten beyond the pale and at ridiculous prices. We'll return if it was just the owner's August madness...

30/07/2025: I'm spending my holidays in the beautiful Maremma region, staying in Tirli. Tonight I had dinner with my family at this super welcoming restaurant, and it was a wonderful experience. The appetizer platter was exquisite, and the wild boar was absolutely delicious, both the one with apples and the one with orange. The grilled meat was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The price was very reasonable for the quality and ingredients. I'll definitely be back before I leave.

05/09/2025: Tasty dinner with fresh pasta and excellent meat! During the day, it's also a rotisserie with delicious dishes. Prompt and fast service. If you're passing by Principina, I highly recommend it! The tortelli with wild boar ragù are fantastic!
