A tastefully converted cellar located at the foot of the charming old town. You need to be physically prepared for a hike through charming alleys and steep stairways... but finally, once you're seated at your table, the rewards arrive: delicious traditional dishes served in a very characteristic setting.

A very unique place in the oldest part of Sorano. It's a bit tricky to get to, but once you enter, it's wonderful. Part of the place is a cave, and the space is very small with only a few seats, so book in advance. Top-quality food, a few dishes but of a high standard, and very unique; the vine leaf rolls are delicious. The owner recommends wines to accompany the dishes; he's super helpful and very courteous. When you're in the area, stopping by this restaurant is definitely worth it.

Beautiful venue, housed in a tuff cellar and furnished with an interesting balance of rustic and contemporary. The menu offers an interesting selection of traditional dishes. Excellent value for money. Reservations are recommended. Discreet and professional table service.

A very charming restaurant inside a cave. The food is excellent, sophisticated gourmet cuisine with local twists. The wine selection is excellent, and the restaurant manager recommends it.

What an extraordinary experience, over and over!! My wife and I recently spent a weekend in Sorano and ate at Cantina L'Ottava Rima Friday (dinner), Saturday (dinner) and Sunday (lunch). I have yet to find such a place in all of my Italy travels since 2018. With all of the food coming from the local farmers and Nicola being so passionate regarding art and slow food done with amazing quality I never get tired of eating there. Nicola is also a genius when it comes to wine and paring with food. And finally, it is in the most incredibly charming beautiful town. I highly recommend.

22/03/2026: I tried this restaurant nestled in the Tuscan countryside and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The owners were very welcoming, the ingredients locally sourced and of high quality. Ida was so attentive and friendly that I will definitely return. The appetizers were endless, the first courses were tasty and plentiful, and the chicken cacciatore and baked potatoes were delicious. Everything was special. Thank you.
