03/01/2026: We stopped for lunch, but with little time available, we still managed to enjoy tagliatelle and rabbit cacciatore. Everything was delicious. The service was also excellent.

15/12/2025: A marvel, a unique discovery. I was very hungry, it was eight o'clock in the evening, and I stumbled upon it by chance. It was a stroke of luck because I ate really well. The wild boar stew was excellent, with excellent sautéed vegetables. I'll definitely be sure to stop by there at eight o'clock every time I'm back in Rome. Until next time, thank you.

31/01/2026: I visited Hosteria del Borgo during a trip to Maremma and had a divine meal. I especially recommend the ribollita, the gnudi (stuffed with ricotta and spinach, no pasta), and the pici, simply delicious. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. Highly recommended if you're passing through!

We tried the pappardelle with hare and the pici with wild boar, and they were sublime, incredibly flavorful, perfectly seasoned, the game flavor not overpowering, and the pasta was homemade. The platter served with warm focaccia was also exceptional, and the desserts were always homemade. In conclusion, a quaint restaurant where you can feel the Tuscan countryside, offering a simple yet exceptional menu. Thanks also to the lady who served us during the meal, kind and not intrusive. The prices were also unbeatable. Thank you.

We had a wonderful evening, everything was delicious: prosciutto crudo al taglio, baked potatoes, grilled vegetables, and two excellent first courses (Chianina beef ragù and spaghetti with fresh tomato and basil). The house Morellino di Scansano was also excellent. The extra virgin olive oil was truly special. The service from the entire staff was excellent and friendly, starting with the very kind Filippo. We'll be back as soon as we can to try the other dishes. Thank you, and see you soon!

07/03/2026: We ate very well, Emilio was very friendly, spaghetti with clams and gnocchi with cream of scampi were exceptional, with delicious fried food 😋. I will definitely be back.

09/09/2025: I went there for dinner with my family, and the first thing I have to say is that the staff is very kind and polite. For example, we didn't make a reservation, but they found us a table anyway. The prices are reasonable and the pizzas are good. The atmosphere is cozy but perhaps a little noisy.

09/09/2025: We had a wonderful time. The owners were welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The food was excellent. Classic platter with cold cuts, cheeses, and pickles. Tripe with lampredotto and Maremma-style snails. We finished with a tasting of biscuits, bitters, and holy water! Top!

19/02/2026: Found by chance while visiting Sovana on a rainy day in February with friends and looking for a coffee, we ran into a guy who was opening the bistro and kindly let us in since everything around him was closed. Then, given his kindness and friendliness, we decided to return for lunch to try the handmade pici made by him and his mother, which we found to be excellent 👍

The chef is extremely skilled, and you can taste the love for tradition in every course. The staff is very friendly, warm, and always helpful. The atmosphere is rustic, warm, and typically Tuscan, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended! La Cantina di Istia è una perla della cucina toscana. Abbiamo mangiato davvero benissimo: piatti caserecci, genuini e richchi di sapore, preparati con grande competenza. Lo chef è estremamente preparato e si percepisce l’amore per la tradizione in ogni portata. Lo staff è super simpatico, accogliente e sempre disponibile. The atmosphere is rustic, warm and typical of Tuscany, which makes the atmosphere more beautiful. Assolutamente consigliata!

01/11/2025: We had dinner at this agriturismo, which we found by chance. The food was excellent, and the portions were generous. Excellent value, and the ingredients were either homegrown or sourced locally. But what I really want to highlight is Elia's impeccable service. If I could, I'd give him more than 5 stars for his kindness and dedication. Thank you so much. Definitely recommended.
