01/04/2026: I stumbled upon it by chance because it was close to the B&B where I was staying. A lovely surprise. The Materana pizza was excellent, although a bit "challenging"... when you call it a one-dish meal!!! A nice draft beer, followed by a dessert (brought up to temperature with a quick trip to the oven!) and a house liqueur!! The price was absolutely in line with the amount of food! Helpful and friendly staff. WELL DONE!!!

29/03/2026: First of all, I'm a regular customer of this pizzeria. I know the owner Francesco, and his professionalism and kindness are unmatched. About fifteen years ago, in my opinion, it was one of the best pizzerias I'd tried. I often went there on weekends with my family.... The pizzas were, in my opinion, among the best I'd tasted in the area. Then, unfortunately (I'm speaking for myself) something has changed in this place in recent years: the menu style has completely changed, with few pizzas on the menu at completely different prices. The usual drinks I used to order are no longer available, replaced with artisanal ones. In short, a radical change, which I personally didn't appreciate. But on a sour note, unfortunately, returning to the pizzas....because they're no longer like a few years ago but rather Cartavelina style...very fine, and very EXPENSIVE!! All the menu prices have completely doubled. Certainly for a family with dependent children... I don't even want to imagine the final bill. In fact, I've noticed that the Saturday clientele has changed, I've seen many groups of young people... Finally, drawing my conclusions, I don't think I'll go there again!

03/03/2026: The restaurant's location is stunning, perched on the ravine, affording stunning views of the city. Built on the ruins of a cave structure, it has a very large upper room often used for receptions, and a lower room in a veritable cave, making the setting almost magical. We enjoyed two tasting menus, featuring traditional peasant dishes reinterpreted with a modern twist and of the highest quality. The service was impeccable, and the staff was attentive and friendly. Recommended for a meeting or special event, it's definitely worth it.

13/04/2026: I stayed at the Hotel Excelsior Bari for 2 nights and overall found it disappointing for a property advertised as a 4-star hotel. The room was very basic, with cheap-looking furnishings and only a small window, which made the space feel dark and not particularly comfortable. The biggest issue, however, was the bathroom: no window and no ventilation, which made it unpleasant to use. Air conditioning or ventilation was not available during my stay, which is simply not acceptable at this level. What was more frustrating was the inconsistent communication from staff. When I first reported the issue by phone, I was told the AC would be activated. The next day at reception, I was told it would be increased after complaining again. Later in the day another staff member clarified that the AC could not be turned on at all due to seasonal restrictions. This lack of transparency was disappointing. That said, the staff were otherwise friendly and helpful with check-in, check-out, and arranging taxis. The location is convenient, right next to the train station and within walking distance of the city center. However, the immediate surrounding area is quite dirty and feels less safe than other parts of Bari, so there is a clear trade-off. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel, particularly for families or anyone expecting a comfortable 4-star experience.

04/04/2026: The place is spotless and meticulously maintained. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, making you feel right at home. The restaurant is a real highlight: the food is excellent, incredibly fresh, and truly delicious. Special kudos to the kitchen staff, who are simply fantastic! The prices are fair and reasonable. I highly recommend this property to everyone: the location is central and very convenient as a base for exploring Puglia on day trips. We'll definitely be back!

12/03/2026: A place to eat good quality pizza at a good price. The ingredients are fresh and you can see them as soon as you enter the restaurant. The pizzas were tasty and had plenty of toppings. They also had a wide selection to choose from. It's true that the pizza crusts weren't as crispy as we expected. As for the service, it took a while for our food to arrive, but they were friendly. The place was quite busy and seemed to be frequented by locals.

06/12/2025: A lovely pub, with both indoor and outdoor (covered) seating, and nearby parking (it overlooks a small square). The food is excellent; the only flaw (but I can't blame them for that) is that they don't offer any gluten-free options (though, since we brought our own, they were happy to prepare it with care and attention). They offer a wide variety of food (the burgers and amazing fries are especially recommended) and drinks. They can also host birthday parties. Reasonable prices. I recommend it!
