Definitely busy based on their Spaghetti all'assassina basically fried spaghetti with a little heat (less than anticipated). Make sure to have a reservation. Wine is cheaper by quantify - order a litre. Other pasta is very flavourful.

I came to this restaurant with one sole purpose: to eat the Spaghetti all'Assassina, which is why this restaurant is often mentioned. Well, I can only say that they are EXCEPTIONAL, truly a dish worthy of A+. I can only compliment the Chef for the mastery with which he brings this dish to life. If you come to Bari, "you knew..."

Friendly service, good size portions, delicious food.

I had a great time. The rice, potatoes, and mussels were very good, the stuffed mussels were very good, and the seafood tagliatelle were exceptional. The service was courteous and the timing was right. I recommend it.

This restaurant is an absolute gem. We had an afternoon flight back to the UK and had recently tried Spaghetti alla Assasina and we were desperate to have it again before heading home. We had a few hours so decided to go here for lunch as reviews were good. Apparently it's the birth place of the wonderful dish so we had to try. I called ahead with my broken Italian and got a table for 12:00. This turned out to be the best decision of our trip. Wonderful from start to finish. The restaurant had a lovely old fashioned atmosphere and just the type we love. The service was impeccable and our waiter was fantastic, very informative about each dish he brought out. The food was stunning and very reasonably priced. We left very full but also annoyed that we couldn't leave a tip. They couldn't accept tips on a credit card and as we were on the way back to the airport we were all out of cash. We're holidaying in Cisternino in the summer and we're heading back to eat here again, obviously for the food but also to give them a cash tip lol!

Lots of variety and experience in typical dishes

Six of us went for dinner on a Saturday evening. All the tables were occupied, so the atmosphere was quite lively and noisy. We ordered appetizers (our favorite drink and grilled mushrooms), which, along with the house Primitivo wine, convinced us of their quality and quantity. Then we were served the first course (three spaghetti all'assassina and three orecchiette with ragù). The spaghetti was acceptable, but we didn't like the orecchiette with ragù... partly because of the quality of the pasta and partly because of the ragù. The service was a bit slow due to the large number of customers and also a bit sloppy.
