06/05/2026: Not bad. The pizza was delicious, the carbonara was good, although they definitely skimp on the Parmesan. For three pizzas, two pastas, and a fish dish, plus two beers and two Aperols, we paid 112 euros. The time from ordering was less than 20 minutes.

06/04/2026: Let me just say, the receipt only listed a cuopp di terra for €19.50, when we ordered two, but there were barely two small fish and three rings. And in the cuopp di terra, a small mozzarella in carrozza and a potato croquette. It really seemed to me that they adjust the price based on where you are, etc., and on top of that, the portions were really tiny and the quality wasn't up to par with Naples.

17/09/2025: We were truly impressed by this restaurant! We ate wonderfully: carefully prepared dishes, authentic flavors, and the freshest ingredients. The service was friendly and attentive, without ever being intrusive. But the real surprise was the price: excellent quality at a truly reasonable price. An experience I highly recommend and will definitely repeat. Kudos to the entire staff!

17/04/2026: The coffee was good but the desserts were not good at all, they were dry. I took a Sicilian cannolo and only took one bite, it was too much to eat. Then I also took a strawberry tart, let's not even talk about it. If I come back it will only be for the coffee.

05/06/2026: They show $1 spritz, gave me a “big one” with spritz mixed with soda for $7. Was about 2 shots worth filled with ice and soda. Price sobered me up compared to the $1 next door.

04/01/2026: Worst place we've eaten, 4 couples, 3 omelettes, €40 thrown away, and after pointing out that the products were inadequate, they didn't care at all, be wary and leave even if you see it crowded it's only because of the overload of tourists and they take advantage of it to sell off stuff that is not bad, but of a very poor quality. Horrible experience

03/01/2026: I ordered a cuoppo di mare and it was cooked perfectly to me. I guess some places give you larger portions but I thought that the size was appropriate for a nice snack. I had about 12 pieces of seafood which were an assortment of fried squid, fish, and shrimp plus a panzarotti at the bottom and a zeppolelle at the top of the cone. It did not see any microwaves - I only saw food coming out of the fryer from the back. The cost was €8 which seemed ok to me for the amount of food I received. The seafood seemed fresh and was not chewy. Service: efficient and straightforward which I expected- they were busy.

01/05/2026: Dang, I should have looked at the reviews. I just needed a place to sit for a few minutes while waiting for my ferry. I looked at their drink menu before sitting, noticed it didn't show any prices, but (my mistake) sat down anyway. Now I know why they don't show them. A little cochina cocktail cost 20€ and an aeperol spritz was 17€.. and they asked if I wanted to leave a tip. We were there for ~10-15 minutes. For reference, we were paying 7€ per Spritz at a nice place in Rome a couple days ago. Another reference point: I had the best dinner of this entire trip today around Positano. We had 2 pizzas, 1 large beer, 1 generous pour of wine, and 2 complimentary shots of lemoncello - all for 36€ including table and parking fees. I also had lunch for two for 17€. So yeah, Bar Grotta Azzurra charges more for mediocre drinks than what you'll pay for dinner + drinks elsewhere. The servers were friendly and attentive, it's just a bummer to be overcharged so severely and sneakily.

10/06/2026: Zero stars!!!!! Not recommended at all!!!!!! Very, very unfriendly ladies, and the food is not recommended. The tables hadn't been cleaned in ages. The salad was served without oil. After I'd finished eating it, they slammed the oil onto the table. While we were trying to ignore the ladies' behavior, someone suddenly started sweeping the terrace around us. It was so loud we thought the broom couldn't handle it. Not the waitress, but the broom! 😄 The absolute worst part came when we went to pay. The menu said €39. They wanted to charge us €50. When we asked, suddenly all the prices were €2 more expensive than on the menu. And they only accepted cash. During the discussion about the price, she became really rude. So we paid, what else could we do? This is blatant rip-off. Never again!

09/06/2026: The two sisters who own this bar are due to retire. The toilets were filthy with a strong smell of excrement. They charged me 17 euros for a beer and a soda. I gave them a 20-euro note, but they refused to give me change. I found a handwritten price list and realized the bill should have been 10 euros. I asked for the difference, and after some arguing, they gave me a 10-euro note. They then asked for the 3-euro difference. I gave it to them, and they hid a 2-euro coin and demanded another one. I left the establishment amidst insults from the two sisters. The only saving grace was not having eaten in that disgusting restaurant.

26/03/2026: Hidden fee of €2 per person for Wifi they don’t inform you of + overpriced in general. I guess they can exploit being at the top of a mountain.

30/05/2026: I'm not giving it a lower rating because I can't. We sat down at a table (which they hadn't even cleaned, by the way) and ordered a couple of Cokes (the glasses weren't even there). A little while later, one of the waiters came over and told us, quite rudely and unfriendly, that we couldn't sit at the table unless we ordered something to eat. There wasn't a sign indicating this, by the way. In short, I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

21/05/2026: Tried to order 2 coffees to either takeaway or sit down. We ordered at the bar, sign at tables state after 11am you can order then sit. Told 3 differing versions by disinterested staff. Coffee provided after 10mins & other orders made.... Coffee wasn't worth the wait, worst in 3 weeks in EU. Could do 4x the business if less mayhem & indifference prevailed. 🤔

17/11/2025: Unfortunately, we made the mistake of not asking about the prices beforehand – they weren't displayed anywhere. We also had to wait a very long time for service. We were initially charged €20 for two 0.33-liter beers. Only after I inquired was the amount reduced to €12. The items on the bill were incomprehensible. Overall, it seems like a rip-off to me.

10/11/2025: The classic tourist trap that ruins Italy's image. No prices displayed (creative strategy, I imagine). Two takeaway coffees + a day-old sandwich: €15. Not an Italian tradition, but a tradition of ripping off tourists. Italy deserves better. Tourists too.
