07/07/2025: ⚠️ Very serious experience: We stayed at this property trusting the 4 stars declared and the images on Google and Booking, which turned out to be clearly misleading. The reality is profoundly different from what was advertised: it is an old, neglected property, with rooms that are more reminiscent of a nightclub than a hotel, and a style totally incompatible with the quality and hygiene standards expected for a hospitality facility of this category. At the time of booking, we were told that only a "suite with hot tubs" was available. Later, reading the reviews of other guests, we discovered that this is a systematic practice, used to induce customers to accept non-transparent conditions, thus configuring deceptive commercial conduct. We arrived at the property around midnight, with a newborn in tow. Despite having called the hotel 15 minutes before to confirm our arrival, we were given an attic room with an internal temperature above 45°C. The baby, a few months old, immediately showed clear signs of discomfort and sickness. The room, lacking adequate thermal insulation, was moldy, damp and had seriously poor hygiene conditions. Access was only via very hot stairs, totally unsuitable for those traveling with children or the elderly. The temperature makes climbing up difficult. When we asked for an explanation, the staff stated that - following complaints from other guests who had found the rooms "too cold" - they had chosen not to turn on the air conditioning before the guests' arrival. An unacceptable, illogical and irresponsible justification from a safety and health perspective, especially considering the presence of a newborn. It should be emphasized that the aforementioned gentleman was well accommodated at the reception, in a very cool environment. I showed up with my daughter in my arms in a sea of ​​sweat and visibly tired by the temperature. Only after repeated insistence were we moved to another room, which was still unsuitable: cracks in the walls, a shower in full view in the room, a clogged sink. Conditions that in no way reflect the definition of a “suite” or what was declared at the time of booking. We tried several times to contact the owner, without ever receiving a response. Online reviews have shown that the gentleman present in the facility is used to providing contradictory, evasive or completely false answers, systematically avoiding satisfying the legitimate requests of guests, with conduct bordering on legality. Further aggravating elements: • We were asked for €120 over the phone for the “suite”, the only available room with a hydromassage tub that had given us hope having decided at the last minute to stop, given the tiredness, unable to continue for 4 hours by car. We were not told the price of the second room. • When my friend asked to retrieve some personal items left in the first room, she was initially told that it was not possible because new guests were expected. Shortly after, the staff contradicted themselves, telling her to leave the keys attached to the door, implicitly admitting that no other guests were expected. • When we asked for a room with a balcony (for reasons related to smoking), we were told that there were no alternatives available, only to be transferred to a room with a view. This room, however, was located right next to a recycling company, with strong smog smells and under an overpass, in an area not suitable for families nor compatible with what was promised online. • There was not even a mattress cover. • The swimming pool visible in the advertising photos does not belong to the hotel, but to an adjacent bar, where the atmosphere is made inaccessible and noisy by loud music and chaotic attendance.

10/06/2025: What can I say? The Masaniello hotel is fantastic, the staff is competent and very kind. Having arrived from an unpleasant adventure, we were welcomed super well. I booked a suite. The staff, knowing my misadventure, made me find the room already with the air conditioning on. The room was perfect, spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. I highly recommend it. We will definitely be back.

24/09/2025: Ate at the restaurant here. Had the best raviolis ever in my life. Stopped here from our private boat tour from Sorrento. Fabulous. Service was amazing. Really expensive. You really start to see the prices go up the closer you get to Capri and positano. Worth the spend but most likely wouldn’t stay here.

22/09/2025: staff very rude, went on a boat trip day here and felt forced to eat. staff told us if we wasn’t to eat it would require €100 per person to access capri town which now we have found out this is a lie. they were very shocked none of me or my friends liked fish food and was extremely rude and looked down their nose at us, especially the man in the grey blazer with grey hair, mocked our accent and made us feel very little, we left without ordering as we felt trapped and very unsafe - do not recconmend

08/03/2026: Dirt everywhere—tablecloths, glasses, plates... Old, rotten mushrooms on pizza, old baguettes, and bitter olive oil. Antipasti fried in old, stinking oil. And worst of all—warm beer in a dirty mug. And we didn't get a receipt because the register broke... RUN!

08/03/2026: I happened to pass by downtown Sorrento in early March. The atmosphere isn't bad, with decent service, but unfortunately the food, especially the fried calamari and shrimp, isn't great.

The girl with glasses spoke to us very rudely, telling us to call the next day because the owner wasn't there at the time, to make an appointment. She was unorthodox. We definitely won't be returning.

18/07/2025: We were craving some ice cream, so we chose this ice cream shop. And I have to say we weren't wrong at all; in fact, we overdid it. The ice cream was excellent, creamy, flavorful, and the flavor was exactly what we chose! 500g for €10, a great price. The staff was kind and attentive, even asking if anyone had any intolerances (celiac disease) or allergies before filling the tub. Definitely worth a try.

07/09/2025: Excellent cuisine and a family atmosphere I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and I can't say enough good things about it! The appetizers were rich and varied, a true explosion of flavors: crispy and flavorful fried cod, delicate zucchini flowers, tender and tasty octopus... all prepared with great care and quality ingredients. The first courses were equally impressive: scialatielli and gnocchi cooked to perfection, abundant and flavorful, just as tradition dictates. The atmosphere is welcoming and refined, with a warm atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff is incredibly kind, always smiling and helpful: it truly feels like family. A place where you eat great and feel even better. I'll definitely be back! I hope you remember me 😂

27/02/2026: We stayed 3 nights at this property and I have to say we had a great time! Having read the reviews, I was worried I'd find a terrible place to stay, but the room was nice and renovated, equipped with everything we needed (even a kitchen, which we didn't use), and in a great, quiet location! We followed the recommendations for dinner and were very happy with it! So, Amedeo Square was a great choice!

23/02/2026: Unfortunately, I didn't get the room shown in the photos for three people—none of them were of the same or similar standard. I wasn't even informed of the owner's change of mind, which meant I'd be getting a room, a small unit on the ground floor. I had no choice but to agree to a lower price because the owner informed me on the spot when he first arrived. He said renovations were underway, but we secured a room well over six months in advance. Strangely, other travelers were put next door. We were given a room for three people: one couch and one fairly large double bed. The room had mold on the shower tray and window, and no ventilation. There was a refrigerator, air conditioning, hot water, a small kettle, two glasses of approximately 150 ml each, and no spoon or other cutlery. Mini soap, shower gels, and shampoos were available, room cleaning, a coffee maker, clean towels, clean bedding, and comfortable spring mattresses. Thanks to this, we took advantage of the "discount" on canceling our booking on Booking. For four days, it wasn't worth the hassle, but you can see the mentality and attitude – when you confront someone, they'll take a discount. I have a feeling this won't be the last time this happens, and the procedure seems commonplace based on the entries below, which aren't on Booking.com because the man asked for the reservation to be canceled. Fill in the rest. The only thing is that everything you need in Naples is close by. There's a café next door, a mini-shop where a nice man and his Polish wife sell their goods, and a mini-market nearby. The metro, which is currently closed until May 2026, is probably worth checking the information, and there's a taxi rank by the square.

10/03/2026: I've been to this university cafeteria several times before, but what happened today has never happened to me. A woman at the cafeteria counter was rude and surly after I asked her a simple question about my plate on the counter. I then asked her if she could please give me my plate to go, and she casually snorted at me in a disrespectful manner for no reason whatsoever. I understand the crowds and the stress, but this is absolutely not appropriate behavior. I'm disappointed.

22/02/2026: The food quality here is actually quite good, and you can tell the ingredients are decent. However, the biggest drawback is that the meals are rarely served warm. It's a real shame because the flavors are there, but eating lukewarm pasta or meat every day really takes away from the experience. There are no microwaves available for student use, so you're stuck with whatever temperature it's served at and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. If the university provided a way to heat the food up, it would easily be a 5-star spot, but for now, you just have to get used to cold lunches.
