Al Campanon In Trieste

We discovered this pizzeria by chance two years ago and were recently back. The pizzas are incredible; the dough is airy inside and crispy on the outside. The tomato sauce has a fruity flavor that adds a wonderful freshness. The sheer number of options almost compels us to make another visit soon. Don't be afraid to try something new!

Very good pizzas. The classic dough is better than the 5-grain one, which I wasn't entirely sold on. The ingredients are very good, though. Friendly staff.

A simple place that offers a variety of pizza doughs to choose from. Being a trattoria, there are also other dishes to choose from besides pizza. As a celiac, I chose a pizza with gluten-free dough: it was quite good! Although the pizzas made with regular flour tasted completely different! The ingredients were very good, and I had the opportunity to try a variation of the pizza toppings. A note for celiacs: they bake the gluten-free pizzas in the same oven as the regular flour pizzas, so they rightly point out the real risk of cross-contamination. I chose to take this risk, but I was pleased that the staff was informed of the issue and promptly communicated the specifics.

Very nice place with delicious pizza and a very friendly staff. Also, very affordable prices. Highly recommended!

Raffaele, the pizza chef, is very nice and makes wonderful pizzas, the place is welcoming and very clean and if they had a little garden for the summer they would be the best but already like this they pay so many... shame his wife is a little sulky every now and then... but every now and then. 😁😘 gluten-free pizza dough for allergy sufferers.

I ordered a sweet and savory pizza for delivery and I absolutely loved it! It was the best pizza I've had in Trieste so far. It's incredibly light, incredibly tasty, and the ingredients are clearly top-quality. They also gave me what we call "pettole" (small pastries) in Taranto, which made me feel right at home. 🫶🏻 I highly recommend eating here because it's truly worth it!

Found this just walking around, had a wonderful lunch. Would definitely come back and to try another recommended meal.

Maybe we ordered the wrong items—the ones people usually praise here—but unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy them. The coffee wasn’t very good, the tiramisu was overly frozen and had too much cream, and I didn’t like the Napoli sandwich. There weren’t many people in the café, and the service speed was average. Instead of the beer we ordered, they brought us a cola—how could that even happen? The staff don’t speak English, and we don’t speak Italian, so I honestly don’t understand how “beer” turned into “cola.” Reviews say the pizza here is good, and maybe it is, but without an English menu, even using a translator we couldn’t manage to order it 😂
