16/02/2025: Personally the best pizzeria in Trieste. Discovered by chance, it turned out to be a gem. Wide choice of pizzas also with local ingredients, unquestionable quality, very fast service and friendly staff. I also recommend the Italian starter: plentiful and delicious. Prices are competitive. There is not only pizza, it is also possible to order first and second courses.

15/03/2025: Dario is a unique person, he is a true HOST! In business since 1986, the restaurant “Da Afro” offers authentic local cuisine, with a careful selection of wines and raw materials (often from his garden/farm). They also have a hotel with 8 rooms, I recommend you try to have dinner at his place and if you are far away to stop and sleep and with the excuse drink a few more bottles. Every time I pass by his area I stop to have a chat over a glass of wine🍷 and then eat a nice first course! You won't regret it 😇

27/03/2025: A really lovely, authentic and legendary restaurant in the middle of the city centre of Trieste. Really friendly service and amazing fresh fish, really great starters and wonderful wine.

22/02/2025: Jamón Penne With cream and tomato sauce was a hit! 5 star food, 5 star service, and 5 star atmosphere with the wood and rock tavern walls and antique lights. The Spinach was a healthy size but the ratatouille wasn’t like what I expected in the movie. It was basically oven roasted yellow pepper and zucchini. Flavor wise it was really good but presentation wasn’t as good. Still doesn’t take away from the rest of the food, service, and atmosphere. 5 stars to end the night 🌟.

28/11/2024: Very nice and clean place with tables on the central avenue and inside. Attentive, kind and professional staff. Wide choice of beers and cocktails. In short, you drink and eat well! Worth a stop during your walk!

I ordered a Risotto without any problems for an excellent one (sometimes you have to beg for it in some other starred restaurant..) Here the dishes prepared with care, despite their simplicity of ingredients, leave the palate satisfied. The desserts, also with a ricotta base, give you that sensation of freshness and pleasantness, a goodness. Service provided by the very kind owner who doesn't skimp on what to see outside the window and passionately lists the products on the plate... they increase curiosity when tasting. €135 for 4 With two liters of water and 4 coffees.
