10/12/2025: Last weekend of November 2025. Two of us enter (the second person knows and frequents the place occasionally). I'm not from the area, but I've been frequenting Friuli Venezia Giulia for over 40 years for various reasons. The second person very kindly suggests I go there for an aperitif and try the Tre Corone meatballs. We enter around 6:30 pm and, knowing that the place takes reservations for dinner, we politely ask one of the staff if it's possible to do so without disturbing us during dinner time. A staff member replies that it's no problem and seats us just inside, about ten meters from the counter on the right. A "very friendly" bald staff member comes to serve us, and in a very curt and unsympathetic manner asks us what we'd like to drink. We order a glass of FRIULANO and a PINOT NERO, a plate of Bagatto cold cuts, and two meatballs. Shortly afterward, the same "very nice" guy served us, looking very annoyed, as if having an aperitif had bothered him and we'd stolen the place from some late dinner party. The plate of prosciutto (a veil), he supposed, weighed 40-50 grams maximum, while the two meatballs were standard. After we finished the generous plate of prosciutto, the same "very nice" guy took our plates away without asking if we wanted anything else. After 10-15 minutes, no one showed up again. I went to pay, and a kind young man asked me if everything was okay. I calmly replied, with a half-smile and a "subtle" reply, also apologizing so as not to sound too blunt, that I was quite disappointed by the size of the prosciutto (the flavor of which I don't even remember...), and by the size of the two glasses of wine we were served compared to what two other customers (customers they knew) were holding. The guy at the cash register was very kind, apologizing for the fact that we weren't happy with the service, but that the portions were adequate, both for the drinks and for the "ham," which they regularly weigh before bringing it to the table. I retorted that I didn't come in to speculate on the cost of my groceries, but that I would have thought someone would have cared if we still wanted something, and that we were rightly paying for it. Aside from the cash register's renewed apologies, which I thank for his courtesy in explaining his points, we left feeling absolutely astonished by such service (the bald man was as friendly as sand in a swimsuit on the beach). The location is very nice, the food was very small for the price, but of sufficient quality. What we couldn't stand was having our plates taken away without asking, with the place still half empty... I definitely won't be returning. 👎 Maybe we'll go to some place in the city under new management to try it... a word to the wise.

22/09/2025: We stayed for two nights. The place is very quiet, the rooms are very clean and equipped with everything you need. Compliments for the breakfast, especially the cakes. We also tried the restaurant, which served simple but truly excellent Friulian cuisine. The owner was very friendly and empathetic.

18/09/2025: Great place to stay and visit Trieste, Udine, Cividale, or travel further to Slovenia. Lucca and Paul are great hosts that immeriately make you feel at home. Pauls humor is unforgettable. So is the big pergola in front of the building, the biggest in Italy, Europe or even the world! While having breakfast or dinner under it, you have a wonderful view! This Agriturismo is a unique experience.

28/08/2025: This was our first time in Friuli and we were looking forward to the landscape, the towns, the food, the wine, the mountains, and the sea. While searching for a personally run agriturismo, we came across the friendly reviews of La Faula and felt completely at home there! Luca and Paul have created a very special place, with plenty of space for retreat and peace, as well as for meeting people and sharing their humanity. Thank you for your hospitality, the lovely breakfast, and the delicious dinner! We had a wonderful stay! Arrivederci e alla prossima volta

19/07/2025: Antica Osteria in the center offers traditional Friulian cuisine with Slovenian influences, being close to the border. It offers authentic, home-cooked food, not to be missed if you're passing through!

14/12/2025: Beautiful location; if I had the chance, I'd use it for a romantic dinner. The quality of the ingredients is excellent; the blecs with game ragù is delicious, partly because the game has lost that "gamy" flavor that can sometimes be off-putting, but it's still flavorful. The goulash is just the right amount of spicy, not too spicy, not too spicy. The sliced ​​beef with potatoes is excellent, as is the cooking, which respects the customer's requests. The hazelnut dessert and the tiramisu are both delicious. The service is impeccable, as it caters to the customer's needs and is also timely. Finally, the quality/price ratio is excellent. 29/11/2025: I returned for dinner after the change of management. We had an aperitif first, followed by dinner. Everything was perfect, both the aperitifs outside and the restaurant! I highly recommend it!

21/09/2025: We celebrated our anniversary at this grill restaurant and it was a truly enjoyable evening. ​The prosciutto and focaccia appetizer, the two first courses, the drinks, the dessert, and the coffee were all delicious. We spent about €35 each, a great price considering the quality. ​A special touch was the polenta with bell pepper sauce that was offered to us, truly delicious. The cookies and meringues served with the coffee were also a welcome touch. ​We highly recommend this place!

03/11/2025: But this osteria deserves a true Michelin star, in its most typical Friulian tradition. The scent of Friuli is evident as soon as you enter, the comfortable atmosphere, and the super-friendly staff make you feel at home. The dishes are traditional, from the classic Cjarson pasta—a first course or dessert? Delicious—to the Osvaldo prosciutto (a real treat) and lamb chops, all paired with local wines! Finishing with a dessert served with a local vegetable will simply make you smile with joy.

18/08/2025: I'd just like to point out that there was too much oil on the pizza, which made it a bit too heavy for my taste. That said, the pizza was still good. The wife was also satisfied, but she did make a point (please take this as advice, not as a harsh criticism): in her case, the vegetable pizza was too big, and very, very undercooked. A pass, anyway!
