04/11/2025: An hidden gem and oasis in Varenna where to spend a fantastic day by the pool away from the madness of the touristy crowded village streets. We just love it here, you can even swim in the lake since they have a private dock. Food is also good and sunset hour is spectacular.
28/09/2025: View was brilliant, wish the staff attitude matched the wonderful view. Staff not very inviting or considerate towards people who can't speak Italian.

23/05/2026: A decidedly negative experience with the pizza, which was raw in the center and topped with low-quality ingredients. Instead of parmesan shavings at the end of the pizza, they served a sprinkling of overly mature, unpleasant-tasting grated cheese. The prosciutto tasted like scraps of meat, cut into half-centimeter-thick rectangles and rich in fat. The price is low compared to average, but I would have preferred to spend €5-6 more for a pizza worthy of the name.

12/01/2026: It's called Bar Mario, but there's very little Ligabue in it. In fact, the whole time I was there drinking hot chocolate, there was an entire Vasco Rossi playlist playing! Nothing against Vasco; in fact, I love him. But if you're Bar Mario, I'm not saying you should constantly play an entire Ligabue playlist, but at least don't play an entire Vasco playlist, otherwise it seems like a joke!
I haven't tried the food, just the hot chocolate with plain cream—nothing special.
The two ladies are kind, but let's just say they're more cheerful and sociable only with whoever they like.
It's a real shame, because it has so much potential...

15/08/2025: Took a detour just to go and have Indian food in Novellara due to thriving Sikh community that have brought the food, tradition and Indianness in this place.
Place : Slightly outside of Novellara.
Food : Absolutely loved it. You might get both the flavors of regular Indian restaurant and the taste of Dhaba. Overall, the taste, the flavors and the quality of food was fulfilling.
Price : You are in for a surprise. Rather a good one. Full paisa 💰 vasool.
Ambience : Ok.
Service : Acceptable

05/05/2026: A historic, family-run restaurant. A true agriturismo, they serve their own wine. They offer a menu with two starters, gnocco and tigelle, and dessert. Everything is delicious, served like family. I highly recommend it if you're in the area.

01/05/2026: The people who run this place are kind, helpful and fast. Everything is good, from the Illy coffee to the Folco pastries and savory dishes... excellent.
10/04/2026: I stopped by to grab a takeout sandwich, as I was passing by. I chose a prosciutto sandwich, but the price wasn't listed (or at least I didn't see one; I imagine there's a paper menu, but they didn't show it to me).
When I got to the checkout, I discovered the sandwich cost €8. Personally, I find this a decidedly excessive price for such a simple product. I mentioned it and was told the ham used was Crudo di Sant'Ilario. I understand the quality of the ingredients, but in my opinion, it still doesn't justify the price.
Was the sandwich good? Yes. Was it worth €8? I don't think so. It's still a decent sandwich, but nothing special, regardless of the type of ham used.

11/07/2025: And everything is good between the PRICE: 10 euros for a kebab
2 euros for a drink, total: 12 euros. If I'd known, I'd have gone to Don Divino for lunch, which costs the same, but you get a first course, second course, drink, and coffee. For a kebab for 10 euros, which is 20 thousand lire, NO. NEVER AGAIN.... I feel sorry for them, but it's way overpriced. I highly recommend DONDIVINO!!!

We had a pizza and a sandwich, I must say that it was filling, a hearty dish full of ingredients! 😍
