03/06/2025: siamo capitati qui per caso, mentre eravamo di passaggio tornando da Viareggio.
abbiamo trovato un locale super accogliente, qualità del cibo davvero sopra alla media considerando il prezzo, e personale super gentile.
prima di mangiare ci sono stati illustrati i piatti e ci è stata presentata la storia dello chef in modo molto simpatico, e credetemi rende molto piacevole l’atmosfera.
varietà di piatti del giorno davvero ampia.

03/06/2025: Not recommended for tourists. The menu is in Italian, and when we asked if there was an English translation, we were met with a provocative "why?" After we explained, almost justifying our decision, that we were from Germany and unfortunately didn't speak Italian, we were told that one wouldn't expect to be offered another language in our own country. There was no attempt to help us with the dishes or the menu. Unfortunately, we couldn't translate either due to poor internet reception.
As a restaurateur who works in an area that partially relies on tourism, I find the reaction inappropriate and not very hospitable.
Therefore, we had no desire to pay for something we didn't understand, so we left.
We can't give a review of the food.

01/06/2025: We just arrived to Tuscany that day and we were so tired and hungry from driving, and we stopped at the first driveway to find something to eat, and it was the driveway to this restaurant. At first I was afraid it was a Michelin star restaurant, and we will not get seated, but they took us in, served us very quickly, made sure to cook a 'special' pasta for the kid. Even though they are known for steak, we had pasta and side dishes of vegetables, and it was amazing. Best ragu and fresh pasta of my life. We will be sure to come back for steak -with a reservation

03/06/2025: We were here for my birthday. The service was really impeccable, they were really good at explaining the various dishes and were always kind and helpful. They even gave us a small pre-dessert for the occasion. Beautiful presentations of the dishes. Everything was very good from the appetizers to the first courses and especially the cheek!
We will be back to try the tasting menus next time!

The presentation of the dishes clearly shows how much attention has been paid to visual appeal—but it doesn’t stop there. The excitement built up by the dramatic presentation explodes the moment the food touches your tongue. It's unbelievably delicious!
In particular, the use of olive oil is masterful—perfectly balanced with the food. The pasta, rich with olive oil, is not greasy at all. The steak is also served with a drizzle of olive oil, enhancing its flavor and creating a taste that’s beyond description.
But it’s not just the food that stands out—the staff are passionate and incredibly kind. If I ever return to Montepulciano, I will revisit this restaurant without a moment’s hesitation.

13/04/2025: Abbiamo cenato in questa trattoria toscana piatti veramente ben eseguiti, clima molto caldo. tavoli in condivisione con altri clienti poi la regina in questo posto è la Fiorentina, Ottima!
possibilità di scegliere il peso della carne.
Consiglio di prenotare con molto anticipo.
30/03/2025: Il locale, molto caratteristico, è piccolissimo e quindi costringe i clienti a mangiare gomito a gomito con i tavoli attaccati. Sui tavoli vieni messo un foglio di carta paglia e questo è il servizio con dei prezzi da ristorante di gran classe.
La fiorentina, alla brace è molto buona e viene servita anche ben cotta. Ottima an che la salsiccia sempre alla brace.
Deliziosi i cantucci al vin santo di fine pasto.
Il servizio è molto veloce.
Il ristorante applica due turni con prenotazione. Il secondo alle 14.30, ed il primo alle 12.30. Da notare che se arrivi qualche minuti prima delle 12.30 non ti fanno asolutamente entrare.
Per quanto sopra e in relazione ai prezzi praticati non ritorneremo certamente in questo locale.

30/05/2025: A 10/10 dinner!! I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn't have made a better choice. Wonderful atmosphere immersed in the Tuscan hills, few tables and very kind service, attentive to every need. Impeccable food, traditional Tuscan offerings but creatively revisited by the chef, much appreciated. A place where we will definitely return and that we will recommend!
27/05/2025: We decided to have dinner here based on the good reviews, and it was simply wonderful. The food was soooo good, the service incredibly friendly, and the whole atmosphere was dreamy! Now that's what I call hospitality! We had various dishes from the regional menu, and everyone enjoyed everything, absolutely everything. At the end of the evening, the chef himself came to our table to ask if we had enjoyed our meal! 12 out of 10!!! It's definitely worth coming here!

04/05/2025: We popped in by chance for a quick lunch and were enchanted by the place.
The decor is one of a kind, lively, colorful, full of incredible objects that will arouse your curiosity. In practice a work of art, which is also reflected in the dishes expertly prepared by the Chef. They are traditional Tuscan dishes, prepared with care and excellent ingredients, with a touch of originality.
The owner and the chef are extremely courteous and make you feel at home.
It is a place waiting to be discovered, truly recommended. I hope to return on my next trip to Tuscany.

11/05/2025: We attended a tasting and dinner at the vineyards. The dinner was quite normal, we had high expectations, hence the disappointment. Regarding the service, it left a little to be desired, as the tasting was of 3 labels and they were not replenished.

My experience at Foresteria Villa Cerna at the end of March was truly memorable, despite a rainy day that unfortunately prevented me from enjoying the beautiful terrace overlooking the vast wine lands of the Cecchi family, in the heart of Chianti Classico. I can't wait to return in the summer, when a sunny day can make the experience even more enchanting.
Despite this, eating inside the restaurant was also surprisingly pleasant. The setting is elegant without being pretentious, with a touch of minimalism that makes everything welcoming and familiar. The paintings, books, fresh flowers and bottles of wine on display add character and create a warm atmosphere. The attention to detail is evident in every corner.
What makes Villa Cerna an unforgettable experience is certainly the quality of the food, the excellent service and the competence of the staff. The maître, Andrea, welcomed us with elegance and availability, telling us interesting stories and accompanying us discreetly throughout the meal, without ever being intrusive. His courtesy and professionalism were impeccable. At the end of the meal, I had the pleasure of speaking with the chef, whom I complimented for a truly excellent job.
Let's move on to the dishes, which were a real delight.
The seasonal menu offers a selection of dishes ranging from Tuscan tradition to more innovative creations, and it is difficult to choose which was the best of the three first courses we ordered. But, in general, everything we tasted was impeccable. We absolutely recommend everything we ordered, along with a tasting of their excellent red wines. Here is what we chose:
- Grilled artichoke, Parmesan fondue, sage pesto: simple but well-balanced flavors.
- Tuscan EVO oil buttons, chickpea cream, rosemary: a unique dish that unleashes all its potential once you break the button in your mouth, releasing a mix of flavors between oil, parmesan and Maldon salt flakes.
- Tagliolini with truffle: the best I've ever tried.
- Fabbri Fusillone, Colonnata lard, raw red prawns: a risky fish and meat dish, an experiment that was a great success anyway!
- Beef tartare: the preparation with the egg inside the tartare was particularly appreciated. - Sautéed spinach: a simple dish that really surprised us with the freshness and genuine flavor of the ingredients.
- Torta della nonna and cream ice cream: very good in a really successful reinterpretation.
- Brownie, white chocolate namelaka and salted caramel ice cream: absolutely a must-have!
