La Grotta di Tiburzi In Chiusdino

There were two of us and we ordered a "La Grotta" appetizer, with cured meats, cheeses, and crostini, and a cacio e pepe (cheese and pepper) first course each. The quality of the food was excellent, both for the appetizer and the first courses, with thoughtful and truly pleasing presentations. The house wine was also exquisite and paired perfectly with the meal. Unfortunately, there are some negatives to note: there were only three crostini in total (one of each type), and there were only two or three slices of cured meat. Considering that the platter is designed for two people and costs €28, the quantities seemed rather limited, despite the good quality of the products. Furthermore, the bread wasn't fresh and probably looked like it was made yesterday. Overall, a positive experience in terms of quality, but room for improvement.

Typical dishes, good value, excellent first courses, tortellacci, pici... Kind and friendly. Worth a try.

We had a most wonderful evening at this restaurant. Not only was the personelle incredibly welcoming people, but the ambience, the wine, aperitivo experience and cuisine itself were just a straight 10/10. The prices were very fair, the quality of meat and vegetables were incredible and all in all it was just a most wonderful experience. There were no barriers in communication, every question we had was answered with extensive information. To conclude: if you are staying in Tuscany (close to Siena), check this place out. In our opinion it is absolutely worth it!!!

When you visit San Galgano, make the most of your time in Chiusdino and stop at this restaurant. We had a wonderful meal (peposo, pappa al pomodoro, fried vegetables, and meat) for a reasonable price. The two young men who run it are kind and welcoming. An experience worth repeating and recommending.

Beautiful restaurant inside, it feels like being in a cave. The food was excellent, and the staff was very honest and friendly.

A wonderful experience! We stopped at this restaurant for a quick lunch while passing through Chiusdino to visit the Abbey of San Galgano. The staff were extremely kind and attentive, the service was prompt, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed two appetizers (a mix of local crostini and tartare) and two first courses (ravioli filled with white ragù—amazing), finishing with tiramisu and Vin Santo. It was an excellent experience that we will repeat as soon as possible and recommend to anyone passing through the area (or even those who are specifically visiting).

My family and I have been traveling through Italy the last week, and this place is HANDS DOWN, the best experience we’ve had so far. Valentina and Manuel took such good care of us, we are American and our language barrier had us frightened we would have discord. But they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and seen. Each bite was mouth watering and full of love that you can taste. We cannot wait to have dinner again tomorrow. I also purchased 4 different honey jars with different flavors that I can’t wait to bring home to share with my family! Grazie Mille!!

Amazing food, amazing service, amazing place.

A wonderful discovery in a beautiful little village. Delicious food, clean, and very friendly staff. Both the first and second courses are worth trying. You won't be disappointed!
