02/05/2026: Excellent experience, excellent home cooking, more than generous portions and very fast and welcoming service despite it being May 1st and the place being full and rustic atmosphere that I love, the particular attention to customer requests and a cuisine that brought me back to the flavours of the past can only make me award 5 full stars

Beneath the building are the historic cellars of Tenuta Squarcialupi, where Chianti is still aged today: these fascinating and evocative spaces are open to visitors. The restaurant offers a traditional Tuscan menu, expertly revisited by chef Francesco Costagli. The pasta is carefully prepared by chef Alessio Perna, a true master. The service is attentive, friendly, and, dare I say, impeccable. A truly exceptional culinary experience: I highly recommend lunch or dinner here. Special praise goes to the owner, Mauro Maestrini, a true master of the art. The entire team, from the kitchen to the dining room, deserves praise for their professionalism and dedication. An experience worth repeating... the only risk: it can be addictive! 😊

01/05/2026: We had (or we thought we have a reservation in another restaurant), but it turned out to be closed. Trying to find a place nearby without reservation and last minute, we bumped into this place which was full mainly with locals, but also few tourists like us. We were lucky they could find us a table and we enjoyed fantastic food. Atmosphere and service are also very good. Highly recommend it!

03/06/2026: We visited this restaurant for the first time. We had the Florentine steak, appetizers, and dessert. The steak was superb! The waiter matched the perfect Tuscan wine. The service was fast and beautiful. The service was polite. We read the reviews and don't understand those who gave it one star. We're one of those customers who find fault with a fork being placed incorrectly. We found no fault here!

29/04/2026: I'd stopped here several times, but for a quick bite to eat at the outdoor tables, I finally had a proper, full-blown lunch, and I must say I was completely satisfied. The tortelli with wild boar ragù were excellent, as was the wild boar with apples for the main course... good wine, and the dessert was delicious too. The place isn't very big inside, with just a few tables; reservations are recommended. The ambiance is fairly simple but well-kept, with many references and memories of Tirli and the Maremma in general... even in the cuisine!

07/05/2026: We have traveled to Florence for over 5 years staying months a time. We started going to Osteria Toscanella last year when it opened. THe food is excellent from appetizers to desserts. THe service is professional and knowledgeable as well as appropriately friendly. The owner is a gentleman and is knowledgeable about the wines. The wine selection is well sourced and every time we enjoy the suggestions the owner or waitress has made. The tables are decently spaced so you don't feel like you are in a cattle car and squeezed in next to someone. The room is pleasant and has some historical significance to the area. Every time we dine here - the food selection, preparation. plating and taste are all done with care and purpose. We enjoy every meal we have here. We can hear each other talk and don't have to yell to be heard. We hear other people's delight from table to table as their food arrives. It is on a human scale.

12/05/2026: So good we had to go back twice. The food itself is fantastic, with outstanding dishes such as the pear raviolini, pici con ragu or the anchovies as a starter. This is just to name a few - every dish we had there was wonderful, as well as an extensive and very complete wine selection. The restaurant is very cozy and intimate, and the staff are truly lovely. It’s so good to find a restaurant like this in the most touristic part of Florence, we could not recommend it enough!

11/05/2026: Delicious and authentic Italian food served by friendly dedicated staff in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Very comfortable. The pear raviolinos in a light Parmesan cream sauce was amazing! Followed by a delicious filet with peppercorn sauce and buttery roasted fingerling potatoes. Finished with a perfect chocolate cake which was a small moist rich torte with fudge sauce and fresh whipped cream.

02/03/2026: Very nice restaurant, very kind and helpful staff. The food was really good; I was really impressed with the truffle tartare. There are many gluten-free and lactose-free options available, and allergens are clearly marked. The staff also offered us coffee and a liqueur, a truly appreciated gesture.

08/05/2026: We walked in and it was kind of empty (cause Americans eat early haha) but we were greeted warmly and we got some different foods to try as much as possible and our waitress(the Mexican-Italian one) was super amazing, she recommended really good foods, wines, and was super attentive despite having many other tables once it started filling up. Definitely would go back again.

04/05/2026: This was one of the best experiences we've had in Florence. We had a group of 7 people and they were super accomadating. Pamela was our waitress. We were immediately greeted with prosecco for our table. The restaurant had everything for all of the group to find something to eat. Our group had for starters: mixed salad, eggplant flan. Then for second course we had: pici pasta (the garlic and the ragu were the favorites). For main course, the cod was the favorite and the steak was okay. Favorite dessert was the coconut pudding (like a flan), we also had the tiramisu and creme brulee. Would totally come here again. Absolutely delightful.

14/05/2026: The food was very good! The Service was great although they were over booked, tjey still accomodatr us. they could still make a chit chat with us and check if everything is fine!

13/05/2026: It's not the first time I've been here; I've always had a great experience, except this time. I was very disappointed. The dish I ordered contained pork, but it wasn't listed on the menu at all. I noticed it halfway through and left it as it was. I asked the waiter, and he informed me it was bacon. For religious reasons, I don't eat pork, so I couldn't finish it. The most serious problem is that someone with an allergy, not knowing it, could have had a serious reaction. A reputable restaurant must declare all allergens and main ingredients. I ask that the menu be updated immediately to avoid problems for other customers.

07/05/2026: Recommended by a friend, a place with many typical Tuscan dishes, a wide selection of wines, spectacular chicken liver crostini and very tender tagliata, an excellent restaurant worth trying.

15/05/2026: Meat dishes are recommended. It's easy to enter and has a nice atmosphere. There's nothing spectacular, but there are no duds either; it's a safe bet.
