02/06/2026: A gem in Cortona: tradition, lightness, and a warm welcome from days gone by! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Every time we return to Cortona, a stop at this restaurant is a fixed and indispensable ritual. We recently took my father-in-law from Arezzo here to celebrate his 89th birthday, and it was an exceptional choice: a memorable success! The atmosphere is refined, traditional, and welcoming, perfect for feeling at home even on special family occasions.
The cuisine is simply extraordinary: it manages to combine excellent flavor with surprising lightness. Everything is cooked divinely and never feels heavy. The first courses are a work of art: handmade pici and tagliatelle are worth the visit in themselves. An honorable mention absolutely goes to the excellent fried porcini mushrooms, simply exquisite and not at all greasy. The meat is also excellent, tender and flavorful, cooked to perfection.
What really makes the difference, however, is the human factor:
The service: The waiters, especially Cecilia and Ali, are exquisite. Kind, friendly, professional, and always smiling, ready to satisfy every request.
The owner: Paolo is a man from another era. His helpfulness and the visceral passion he puts into his work are evident in every detail of the restaurant.
All this is complemented by an excellent quality-price ratio, which these days is a significant plus.
The bottom line? Everything is top-notch. If you're passing through Cortona, this place is highly recommended!
