A beautiful evening accompanied by excellent service and Michelin-starred food. The menu was beautifully presented and authentic. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. The only downside, perhaps, was the price of the glasses of wine.

For my birthday dinner, we chose the "all'origine" menu, a 10-course experience, including welcome tastings from the chef and a pre-dessert.
It was a unique experience, our first time at a Michelin-starred restaurant, and we were speechless... the dining room staff were super courteous, knowledgeable, and kind... the sommelier Andrea also paid excellent attention, helping my partner pair the tasting menu with four glasses of wine for every two courses... finally, he even gave us the chance to see the cellar and put a candle on the dessert...
Everything was perfect, highly recommended.

Wow, what an incredible experience at Allegro. The restaurant is small and comforting, yet romantic and well spaced. Dark and sexy, great for an intimate date night!
Service here is outstanding. Very personable, highly attentive and professionally executed. 10/10 for service.
Food was fantastic, but a few missed opportunities. We got the classic tasting menu, and everything was done really well. Fantastic dishes reimagined in very creative ways. A few small items however, missed the mark. The "piña colada", the "negroni" and the small "pastas" were a miss this evening. The Pina colleague and negroni didnt quite taste like their names implied, and the first few "pastas" had no pasta at all.
Overall, super creative, very well done. Just some name changes would probably fit better to alleviate expectations.
Atmosphere lost a mark for me, as some people coming in with shorts and t-shirts, so the dress code seems to be very relaxed. When you sit amongst people in shorts, jeans and t-shirts, the vibe in the atmosphere really goes down from where it could be. They should uphold their dress code standard a bit here.
Cocktails and cocktail service is also top notch here. They are done tableside with a soft explanation. Very nice touch.
Another downside was having a chipped water glass. I only realized it towards the end of the meal when it clipped my lip. I pointed this out to the server who apologized and brought a new glass. Nothing more.
From my experience, Michelin star restaurants would not have a chipped water glass, or would have done far more to compensate, rather than just replace the glass.
Other than that, meal was excellent and service was outstanding. Would highly recommend.
If there's one thing we Romans fiercely defend, it's our traditional dishes: woe betide anyone who touches our carbonara or oxtail stew. That's why going to All'Oro is always a jaw-dropping experience. Chef Riccardo Di Giacinto does something incredibly difficult: he takes the flavors we grew up with, the authentic and intense ones, and completely revolutionizes their form, while keeping the memory of the flavor intact. It's a mind-blowing game of illusions.
The restaurant is located inside the luxurious The H'All Boutique Hotel, just steps from Piazza del Popolo. The atmosphere is elegant, dark, and very contemporary, with impeccable yet welcoming service that makes you feel immediately at ease, without the rigidity of certain Michelin-starred restaurants.
But let's get to the food, because this is where the history of avant-garde Roman cuisine is made. You can't say you've been to All'Oro without trying their great classics.
The start is dazzling with the celebrated Oxtail Rocher with celery jelly. Visually, it's identical to the famous chocolate, but with the first bite, you'll find the melt-in-your-mouth intensity of expertly crafted Oxtail, with the fresh note of celery cleansing the palate. A stroke of genius.
Another iconic dish that will blow your mind is the Potato and Cod Tiramisu. Served in a classic dessert glass, it plays with textures and temperatures: the saltiness of the cod pairs magnificently with the delicate potatoes, creating an enveloping and unforgettable appetizer.
For first courses, the chef outdoes himself with his Cappelletti in hay broth with stracchino cheese and saffron or his reinterpretations of Roman pasta shapes. Each pasta dish is cooked to perfection al dente and has an intensity of flavor that makes you say, "Yes, this is Lazio." Even the selection of main courses, such as lamb or suckling pig, showcases local cuts of meat with modern cooking techniques that make the meat incredibly tender.
The wine list is extensive, with a focus on both major labels and small, sought-after producers, and the wait staff is skilled at tailoring the perfect menu for you.
The verdict: All'Oro isn't just a dinner, it's a gastronomic experience. Riccardo Di Giacinto has managed to make Roman cuisine both "pop" and sophisticated. A Roman takes pride in seeing their cuisine treated with such ingenuity. Definitely worth a try.

Returned after several years and found it impeccable as ever, with a nice selection of menus (not a given for a Michelin-starred restaurant), an amazing wine list, and top-notch food.

The ideas and presentations are very attractive and appealing, but in my opinion, something has been left behind. Many of the flavors could have been surprising years ago, but now the dishes lack the combinations or flavors that captivate you like you find in other Michelin-starred restaurants. Unfortunately, being located right in the city center, it had to accommodate the foreign tourists who made up the majority of the restaurant's customers during my visit, and they were quite noisy.
It's a shame; I expected more, especially considering the price.

This dinner was the highlight of our Italian honeymoon. Each course had its own surprise and the food was phenomenal. You're not just eating dinner, it's an experience.

Exceeded expectations, by a long shot. The chef presents Roman (and other Italian) cuisine, reimagined. The food was absolutely stunning, and we had a fantastic Lazio wine recommendation, but what really set the experience apart was the service. The various staff working were friendly, efficient and grounded; reminiscent of 3 Michelin star dining. Special mention to Daniele, who graced us with some lively banter after our meal and provided a list of restaurant recommendations for our next stop on the trip. I don't think this place will stay 1-star for long, and it's currently a steal to visit. Get in while you can.
