16/11/2025: I ended up here by accident, and I don't regret it. The service was very friendly and customer-oriented. The Black Angus was deliciously prepared and well-served. It's a short walk from the highway rest stop. I'll definitely be back if I have the chance.

New, innovative flavors reflect the creativity of the owner, Mr. Andrea, who is always friendly, personable, and cheerful, like his entire family. We have many cafés in Rome; in Lagonegro, a café in the city center is well-decorated, bright, and pleasant, and also offers excellent breakfasts with a variety of croissants. Excellent service, great atmosphere. 10/10

28/08/2025: Delicious pizza 😍 I love the one with creamy potatoes and sausage! Nice place... unfortunately, however, the last time I was there they made us sit outside. We ate and then asked for something else but they made it clear to us in a very unkind way that it wasn't possible as they had to seat other people waiting (a family)... they had probably booked but had forgotten.... We didn't like this behavior at all... in fact, we won't be back again! The only shame is that we liked the pizza... As for the rest, we will definitely find better elsewhere!

The cuisine is truly exceptional, offering a taste of local dishes made with local, almost always homemade ingredients. The hospitality is definitely worth a stop and a chat with the always-friendly owners. Fair prices reflect the quality and abundant quantity.

28/10/2025: We were a group of 70 and we all ate well and were pampered by the owner who explained all the dishes to us.

26/10/2025: "I'd like to, but I can't..." Dinner with friends on October 25th. High expectations, unfortunately, largely disappointed. Several negatives: we sat down and waited almost half an hour for water, which arrived after the focaccia... Every time we asked for more water, we had long waits, until we had to get up to remember our request. We ordered a bottle of Valpolicella Ripasso, which we abandoned on the table the first time... When the waiter returned, the bottle was simply opened and abandoned again, without letting us taste the wine or pouring it! Oh well... We ordered various appetizers, which I must say were good, although the quantities were a bit small considering the price (equivalent to a first or second course). Then, seven restaurant orders and a pizza. The first and second courses were decent, though not exceptional to be honest, and the quantities were barely acceptable. And the pizza? Well, that never arrived... At least the desserts were outstanding: the tiramisu was excellent, and a truly remarkable cake, a crumble cake with a truly well-made cream. Then four coffees and an amaro. The bill: €42 per person. Way too much, not for what we ordered (the prices are clear on the menu), but for the quantity and quality. And the icing on the cake: the pizza never arrived, so one of our guests would have been left empty-handed, if it weren't for the fact that we're used to sharing dishes among friends. I'm sorry to have to write such a negative review, but I had other expectations, and unfortunately, the negatives were just too many. Too bad.

17/11/2025: Even tonight, as a child, we're never disappointed by the excellent traditional and, above all, artisanal food at low prices. It's the satisfaction that comes from sitting down at the table and asking you how you ate, the best of the best. We're lucky to live several kilometers from the restaurant.

The pepperoni 🌶️, briefly fried in oil, is a delicacy, like chips. But it also tastes divine on top of the food. I find the whole idea of ​​how they do it charming. Keep it up.

16/11/2025: During a short tour of Basilicata, my brother and I stopped in Senise, home of the crusco pepper, and we really liked the Calycanthus restaurant, appreciating the delicious dishes, courtesy and location, it certainly deserves 5 stars.

15/11/2025: I had a bit of a shock when paying the bill after eating a mini appetizer and a first course with local wine, accompanied by a local who knew the place. I conclude that it's true that we'll never grow up in Basilicata. I'm giving it one star because at least one is needed. Bye friends.

20/10/2025: Since June 2025, we've been living in Rifreddo on business trips. Here, we feel at home, pampered all week by the attentive staff, the excellent cuisine, and everyone's willingness to meet our needs. Truly home.

14/10/2025: A very nice weekend, what can I say? I relaxed in the company of friends. The hosts were very helpful. Excellent value for money, the meals were delicious—everything was fresh and of excellent quality—and the drinks were also excellent. I highly recommend it. I hope to return to that wonderful oasis as soon as possible, immersed in beautiful natural greenery where you can breathe in the healthy air. 14/11/2025: And finally, after years and those four or five times I've been there, I'm writing my review. It'll be hard to go back because I moved away from Puglia, but I love the Pollino area and I've been there a lot. The pizza, meat, and porcini mushrooms were amazing. I still remember the first time we stopped in, having a beer with my wife, they brought us a plate of battered cod... Fantastic! And it really felt like home. I really hope they never change, but I'm sure they will because they do their job with love. I really hope to return one day.

12/10/2025: Very friendly staff. We arrived late (around 4 PM), but they welcomed us kindly. The food was plentiful and tasty, the food was quick, and the service was truly excellent. The set menu was excellent value, and to top it off, they even offered us free coffee. Recommended!

The first time was over 40 years ago, and I've been back every now and then to visit Vito and his family, who admirably run this historic family restaurant with professionalism and tradition. The view of the Maratea sea from the terrace is worth the visit in itself. And the menu, what can I say? TOP.
