31/03/2025: HORRIBLE. Breakfast in the bar coffee...burnt at 7.00? Check the machine! Lactose-free cappuccino with milk strictly boiled in the pan where normal milk was made. Croissant served to me boiling hot so I had to take it away because at the first bite it was burning hot and was a raw/sticky mass, so I asked for a little bag and annoyed she handed it to me rudely. To pay? The cashier had to first chat with the back kitchen telling me it's urgent, I'm coming!? But is everything ok? Not at Materana. All this for €5

The aromas and flavors are indescribable. Furthermore, there are dishes ready for take-away, it also offers a barbecue service, if you are in the area you should try it. P.S. Commercial establishment, not recommended for vegetarians 😂😂😂😂😂

11/07/2025: Consigliato da amici andiamo alla scoperta di questo ristorante in quanto cercavamo delle pietanze tipiche locali, che riportassero ai sapori di una volta, quelli della cucina tradizionale, tramandata ma rivisitata in chiave moderna. Locale accogliente e ben curato, personale cortese e fiero di spiegare il piatto, materia prima.di ottima qualità e bontà indiscutibile. Sui dessert, "il Cestino del Barisano" vale di nuovo una visita al locale. Complimenti e buona strada.

Accueil chaleureux, service impeccable, fraîcheur de la salle intérieure troglodyte très appréciée par jour de canicule (et sinon il existe aussi une jolie terrasse ombragée). Mention spéciale pour le dessert (photo) typique de Matera : le Cestino del Barisano : une mousse de ricotta légère et pas trop sucrée, avec purée de fruits frais et amandes grillées, dans une pâte croustillante, c’est à tomber par terre …

02/08/2025: Posto appena fuori dal paese...accogliente e familiare. Siamo stati a pranzo, degustando antipasti fantastici, primi da leccarsi i baffi...e secondi di carne e di pesce squisiti. Posto consigliatissimo....

23/07/2025: Sono stato qualche giorno fa perche'vicino al glamping e devo dire che sono rimasto piacevolmente soddisfatto. La ragazza in sala gentilissima, il cibo buono, ottimi i cavatelli con mollica e peperone crusco, anche abbondante. Buonissimo i peperoni cruschi, antipasto abbondante e cristata alle fragole della casa deliziosa. Per completare il tutto, quando siamo andati noi c'era una gran pace ..che nn guasta mai

In short ... recommended if you want a perfect oasis of peace .... I saw a comment that I consider really out of place and not very polite ... as a customer who returns and will return again I can only recommend this place. Thanks to all of you

Quiet and sophisticated atmosphere, delicious food, the friendliest and kindest staff (which is something to look out for when you do not speak Italian) and good food/wine recommendations. I didn’t ask the name of the sommelier but he was excepcional! So professional, nice and kind, and led us to choose great vino di Matera.

29/07/2025: Pessima esperienza in un ambiente trascuratissimo, con prezzi alle stelle ma qualità di livello Fastfood. Cameriera che propone solo i piatti più costosi ma che poi ti portano delle porzioni ridicole con pochissima carne/pesce e un sacco di patate surgelate.

I tried the lasagna and meatballs in tomato sauce: authentic flavors, just like homemade. The value is also excellent: generous portions at fair prices. Today, given the weather conditions and what happened yesterday, July 15, 2025, due to bad weather in Basilicata, my friends and I decided to cancel our reservation. When I called the facility, a gentleman answered. As soon as he learned we wouldn't be coming today, he was extremely rude and belittled what I had said, saying it wasn't true, that he believed it was sunny there right now and therefore it wouldn't rain this afternoon, and many other things... He was truly unprofessional. I wanted to point out that bringing your own food or drinks into this facility is strictly prohibited; you are forced to buy everything from there.
