30/08/2025: A pleasant discovery! Excellent trattoria inside the farmhouse next to the main road, you don't even have to leave. Quick service and delicious, abundant typical Basilicata dishes. Pictured are Lucanian-style ferricelli and cacciatore-style rabbit. More than fair price. I'd go back!

27/08/2025: Abbiamo mangiato ottimamente, da anni in questo periodo ci andiamo e anche quest'anno siamo rimasti soddisfatti, noto con piacere che la proprietaria e il personale sono attenti alle normative covid e accolgono i clienti in un'ambiente sicuro e famigliare. Piatti abbondanti e sconsigliati per chi è a dieta.

31/07/2026: Everything was good, plentiful, and traditional. We spent a lovely evening in one of the most beautiful squares in Matera's historic center. The staff were helpful and friendly.

26/07/2026: I understand that perhaps we shouldn't have pushed the tables. If it caused any inconvenience, we apologize. However, your reaction was much more unpleasant than our action. We came to your beautiful country to have a good time, get to know your culture, and leave our money here. We didn't break anything, make noise, disturb other guests, or act disrespectfully. We just pushed the tables so that our group of friends could sit together. I wish you to travel more. Maybe visit Lithuania. You would see that in many places in the world, people first greet you with a smile, and only then politely explain the rules. Hospitality is what tourists remember most. In our eyes, pushing a few tables is the same "crime" as drinking a glass of Guinness halfway through the letter "G" - a completely insignificant trifle. A simple smile and a polite request to stop doing it again would be enough. And I think the owner of the restaurant, Francesco, would like his guests to leave with good memories of this place, not with the feeling that they are not welcome here. I hope that this is the kind of hospitality he strives to create. I wish you more smiles and good luck

18/01/2026: I travel often in the area, and Scanzano often offers coffee shops near the entrances. I stopped by chance and found excellent coffee and delicious croissants, even having a honey dispenser instead of sugar at the counter. Well done...

11/01/2026: The food may be good, but the prices are too high and unjustified given the location and service! Plastic tables and chairs, paper tablecloths and napkins, an inexperienced waitress, and honestly, a rather small fillet cost €24... well... we definitely won't be back. PS... I should add, since I received a response after two years, that prices have increased significantly since then, and a good fillet still costs €22-23... and in any case, a small fillet is still small even if it's good quality, which is supposed to be the case everywhere. 😅 Thanks for your reply and good luck!

10/04/2026: Small, charming, and welcoming. The gin and tonic is excellent, with a fruity nuance of Sicilian citrus. The service is attentive and extremely polite. A nice place to have a drink and chat in a relaxed atmosphere.

07/01/2026: Highly recommended, lunch on January 5th was excellent. I highly recommend it. They didn't give us a menu with prices, but we had no unpleasant surprises; the quality of the food and service was excellent for the price. Thanks to the owner for the orecchiette pasta made for our baby, they were truly delicious. The ravioli with creamed peppers were delicious, and the cod was delicious, with a very balanced flavor and fennel sauce. Go there, it's top-notch cuisine!

28/12/2025: I'd love to tell you how the food is, but we couldn't even get in...even though the place was completely empty, the owner was getting ready to smoke a cigarette, and the waiters were all folded...it was completely booked! You wouldn't think they have a welcoming attitude!

13/05/2026: Excellent food with a wide selection of both sandwiches and plated meals. Those of us who are always out for lunch, like me, can avoid the constant sandwiches, which also include vegetables, chicken breast, and many other options. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the two girls who work there are fantastic.

20/08/2025: I've been to this restaurant and I must say it was a truly pleasant experience. The welcome was warm and professional, the atmosphere elegant and comfortable, perfect for a dinner as a couple or with friends. The dishes were prepared with great attention to the quality of the ingredients and presentation: each course was tasty, balanced, and beautifully served. The friendly and helpful staff made everything even more enjoyable, attentive without ever being intrusive. Excellent value for money. A place definitely worth trying, and one I'll gladly return to!

20/08/2025: It could have been better; both the fish starters were dry. The fried fish was decent. The dessert (pear covered in Chantilly cream) was very good.

12/05/2026: A stay in a charming accommodation in a unique place in the world. Sleeping while imagining the lives of people in small spaces, raising their children and earning a living, makes you reflect. The accommodation is very comfortable, the bathroom is excellent, the breakfast is great, and the girls at reception give great tips. Suggestion: pack light, use a backpack (a wheeled suitcase here is crazy), comfortable shoes, and a hat is essential. If you come by car, leave it in the Via Saragat parking lot; it's covered, very affordable, and you can walk to the sassi or take a bus that drops you off very close.

28/04/2026: The bed was a bit hard for our preference, but staying in a cave is incredible and the experience will never be forgotten. There was a very large selection for breakfast and they catered to my gluten-free needs, upon prior request. They had fresh honeycomb and fresh homemade yogurt.

16/07/2026: Calling it a trattoria is a bit of an understatement; many restaurants need to come here to learn how to serve, cook, and charge. The dishes were authentic and delicious; we had an appetizer and a first course, plus two beers and coffees, for just €17 each. Coming back from a bike ride in the Pollino Mountains, where everything was packed, this strategically located trattoria literally saved us! Highly recommended!
