31/10/2025: Excellent pizzeria. Friendly welcome for tourists. The menu is available online in four languages, including French, which is very helpful for deciding what to order. Pizzas are prepared right in front of you. Very good, made with fresh ingredients. The ingredients and flavors are exactly as advertised. The pork croquettes were pretty good too. The decor is a bit like a snack bar, but the food is amazing! We ate very well, and when you see homemade pizzas with good ingredients for under €10, you're not used to that in France! 😀

20/11/2025: Traditional cuisine from neighboring towns, updated with a touch of flair and a few twists, partly based on the ingredients found at the market. The preparation is excellent, the flavor is excellent, and the service and presentation are almost impeccable. We'll definitely return! The prices seem appropriate for the quality of the food, as well as the hard work and dedication put into it by the owners and staff.

02/11/2025: We loved this restaurant. Beautiful setting and everything we tried was delicious: orecchiette with cime di rapa and with ragu, then lamb stew and a semi freddo dessert. Warm people attending customers and professional service. We definitely recommend.

30/11/2025: If there's a place where good humor rises along with the dough, it's this out-of-this-world pizzeria, capable of catapulting you into orbit with the first bite. Phenomenal appetizers: bruschetta that smells of heaven, pettole as light as cosmic clouds. Excellent wine, quality perceived throughout, from the welcome to the coffee, super-clean bathrooms. From what I understand, this place is a must-try for the people of Matera because it was packed, yet we were very comfortable and received kind and efficient service.

29/09/2025: Hiiiiiii, this is the first review I've written for a "fast food" let's say, the first time I went there was on June 27, 2024 with my cousin and I tried L'ALTOMARE BABY and I have to tell the truth... IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! even if heavy... BUT DELICIOUS!!! Congratulations D'FOOD!!! Then... I really liked the service, the owners are very good especially the girl with me and also the speed in making the sandwiches, so congratulations for this D'FOOD too!!! Then the environment... I didn't like it very much, too small and it's not like MC DONALD'S where you can also go inside the restaurant, but above all it was uncomfortable to eat the sandwich, because there were no chairs to sit on (I know they were stolen) but get some new ones, right? 😅😅😅. But everything else was perfect!!! 👌👌👌Thanks D'FOOD and have a good day!!! 😄😄😄

10/11/2025: Cozy local ristorante with very good food, good service and reasonable prices. We drove Matera to Potenza and saw a sign in crossroad "Irsina - uno dei piu belli borghi in Italia" and decided to for sunday lunch there. It was very good decision!

Making everything even more special was Donato's kindness and impeccable attention in the dining room, making you feel like you were at the center of a complete sensory experience. Through the glass separating the kitchen from the dining room, I glimpsed a close-knit team, smiling, orderly, and impeccably clean: silence, precision, harmony—almost a dance that contributed to the truly magical atmosphere. The restaurant, carved into the Matera tuff rock, is an architectural spectacle: intimate, elegant, and authentic. Every detail exudes passion and respect for the land that hosts it. Donato's wine selection is an exciting journey through Basilicata and Europe, with perfect pairings that enhance each dish, showcasing the finest ingredients and creativity. An experience to be relived and re-lived many times in a lifetime, because in places like this, time stands still, and taste becomes pure emotion. We'll definitely be back!

04/10/2025: What a treasure in Matera. Beautiful delicious food, pretty setting, friendly and attentive service. Great value, too. Loved the wine pairings and the concept of being able to assemble your own tasting menu. Chef is in the kitchen himself. The Michelin star is well deserved.

The warm atmosphere and attention to detail make it feel like you're walking into an Old West saloon 🤠 Excellent food, generous portions, and fantastic beer 🍺 The owner is a wonderful person: he even welcomed my dogs with affection, offering them fresh water and even some prosciutto 🐶💛 A wonderful place to stay, both for us and our four-legged friends. Highly recommended!

29/11/2025: Excellent gelato shop, made with quality ingredients in rich, flavorful flavors. This is the bar on Viale Roma, which has always been there for decades. The breakfast pastries are also excellent.

05/11/2025: Like everything in Matera, the best thing about it is the atmosphere, which is fantastic. The locally sourced beef was cooked to perfection and tasted good, but it was quite fibrous. The selection of meats and cheeses is worthwhile. The sausage with potatoes is a kind of chorizo ​​criollo, but with an anise-flavored spice that overpowers the meat's flavor. The formaggie cheese was very good. As I said, the best thing about it all was the atmosphere.

02/11/2025: A pleasant lunch break at Osteria L’Arco. We opted for a simple meal of pasta. The “Troccoli con baccalà alla materana,” a regional specialty, was particularly enjoyable. Troccoli, typical of Puglia, are thick, slightly square pasta, perfect for holding sauce. Here, they were served with flavorful baccalà and a rich, tangy sauce. The service was attentive and the setting charming, especially on the terrace overlooking the narrow streets of Matera.
