I dined at this restaurant on a weekend in Matera on the recommendation of the B&B owner, and I must say it was an excellent experience. The same care and refinement in the dishes was also reflected in the attentive and friendly service. In short, a TOP restaurant!!! Congratulations!

04/05/2026: May 3, 2026 Wandering through the narrow streets of the Sassi district in search of a restaurant for dinner, we entered and were seated without a reservation. What can I say...a very intimate restaurant with a charming setting, partly inside a limestone cave. It offers an excellent selection of wines; we were expertly guided in selecting one that both suited our tastes and complemented our dishes. The dishes certainly deserve praise (I must say I had a delicious fava bean and chicory soup, the best...). Everything was truly delicious. I can't give the service 5 stars only because a few more smiles from some of the staff would have been appreciated, even though they were extremely polite and kind. Highly recommended.

10/04/2026: Beautiful place, it's in Matera, you'll find it walking along Via Buozzi. The only downside was that I got a table in the sun and it was a bit strong, but it's a highly recommended spot.

05/11/2025: Like everything in Matera, the best thing about it is the atmosphere, which is fantastic. The locally sourced beef was cooked to perfection and tasted good, but it was quite fibrous. The selection of meats and cheeses is worthwhile. The sausage with potatoes is a kind of chorizo ​​criollo, but with an anise-flavored spice that overpowers the meat's flavor. The formaggie cheese was very good. As I said, the best thing about it all was the atmosphere.

05/05/2026: A typical Lucanian trattoria with truly delicious dishes: we thoroughly enjoyed both the homemade soup and the soup with meatballs in tomato sauce, both flavorful and well-prepared. Unfortunately, however, the service wasn't up to par. The lady, presumably the owner, seemed rather haughty, while her daughter, who was taking orders, was even more so. We would have appreciated greater kindness, friendliness, and a modicum of savoir-faire. At various times, she was rude, even towards other customers: for example, with a table of undecided foreigners, she showed impatience, grumbling and huffing, turning away so as not to be noticed. Overall, a mixed experience: good food, but the welcome really makes the difference. Personally, I don't think I'll return, because a good restaurant should also offer empathetic and pleasant service, starting with the managers, who proved less friendly than the very kind waiters.

02/05/2026: Excellent local cuisine, with truly exceptional traditional dishes and a memorable mixed roast. The only downside is the commercial desserts (we recommend the homemade local desserts, in keeping with the rest of the dishes). The owner and his son are truly kind, hospitable, and attentive. Overall, we'll definitely be back!

01/05/2026: The location lacks amenities. The tables are poorly arranged, and one in particular, the one we were assigned to, was near the door. Consequently, every opening was a cold blast. Reservations are careless, and waiting lists are long. The menu is sparse, and hygiene is lacking.

08/04/2026: A unique experience, led by the owner who, in addition to explaining the dishes, also shares the history of the ingredients and the Lucanian region. Handmade pasta, seasonal vegetables from the garden. Everything, from the appetizers to the rosolio, is made with passion and authenticity. Cruschi peppers and yellow eggplant are some simple yet characteristic dishes of Basilicata.

09/05/2026: Doesn't live up to the hype. Average food paired with slow service. The waitress was apparently frustrated too. Disappointed.

03/05/2026: The place is quaint, the waiters are kind and hospitable. Everything else needs to be redone; the pasta e fagioli was completely uninspired. The orecchiette, cod, and turnip greens were mediocre. The bar was below the superficial threshold. During our lunch, the owner must have drunk at least four spritzes, perhaps that's why he couldn't cook. The price was incredibly high, unjustified for what we ate.
