11/06/2024: Located in the center of Stigliano, a delightful village in the heart of Basilicata. The rooms are spotless. Breakfast satisfies everyone, both those who love savory foods and those who love sweets. Lunch and dinner, for those who book full board, are a surprise: local products cooked with great skill (podolica cow meats and cheeses, bran peppers, porcini mushrooms, cold cuts and pasta and above all lamb). The owner and his collaborators are very kind and available to satisfy every request (such as the vegetarian menu). Truly a special place. We will definitely be back

The pizza was excellent, honestly one of the best I've ever eaten, the choice of very high quality ingredients certainly makes the difference. Absolutely highly recommended!

03/06/2024: Abbiamo soggiornato 5 giorni a Matera, dopo un giro nei paesi vicini al capoluogo ci siamo fermati qui a pranzo, ce l'aveva consigliato un amico. Abbiamo mangiato veramente molto bene, la pasta con i ceci e la salciccia era un'esplosione di sapori e consistenze diverse, una vera poesia. La ristorazione di Matera invece ci ha delusi, ci andiamo da 25 anni, quasi tutti gli anni, mio suocero nacque lì prima di emigrare al nord. Il turismo ha portato un peggioramento nella qualità della cucina e del servizio, per non parlare dei prezzi, che invece in questo ristorante abbiamo trovato onestissimi.

20/07/2024: We had dinner last night and everything was excellent! Impeccable service and very kind owner! Price quality normal! I highly recommend the starters and the schnitzel (my children ordered it) which we all loved! I hope to return to taste new delicacies and if you are in Matera pay them a visit 😉!

19/07/2024: 4 of us went for lunch. We had such a good time that we returned for dinner. Very good food. The owner is very friendly and kind, the staff are all friendly and competent, the prices are good. If we return to Matera, we will definitely go to eat at Van Gogh

21/06/2024: We stumbled upon it by chance but it was a pleasant discovery, the table outside was not possible, we stayed inside, a dated place... but the pizza was really excellent... with 72 hour leavening as it should be ...with yellow date and buffalo on top

16/07/2024: We went to this pizzeria after a web search as we were staying in a hotel in the area. We waited an extra half hour from THEIR time. I asked to arrive at 9.30pm, they told me at 10.30pm but they made us sit at 11pm on a small table set aside, it's Saturday. On the menu only the prices of the first courses and pizza and some drinks. I order a platter of cheeses and fried potatoes and they also bring us some cold cuts that were not ordered and included on the bill. I ask for a glass of white or rosé wine but they only had 75 cl bottles, they offer me a small bottled red without specifying the price or above all the type. I need a dusty heirloom from 2020 of almost 15 degrees. Probably not having specific skills, those wines, once they have passed the year, must be stored laid out in a suitable environment and served by allowing them to oxygenate for at least 15 minutes, in fact once uncorked I realized that they were undrinkable, bitter and had the smell of alcohol which had increased in volume over the years. I informed the operator but he pretended nothing happened. He left everyone there and went away. Put everything on the bill without even an apology. Never again for sure, keep going
