05/04/2024: This gelato shop in Matera is amazing! They have a variety of flavors, delicious ice cream, and reasonable prices. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in town!

Exclusivity, refinement and quality of the raw materials, combined with the variety of flavors closely related to the seasonality of the products, make this ice cream shop one of a kind, characteristics that confirm the craftsmanship of the product. The ice cream is produced daily by the owner inside the open artisan laboratory, in fact once all the ice cream produced has been finished, being a small family-run ice cream shop, it closes to reopen the next day with a new and fresh production. In short, an ice cream shop worth trying and worth waiting in long queues for, fully rewarded by the unique taste, goodness and quality.

23/08/2023: Mid-August 2023 or so. Beautiful and unexpected evening at the Antiche Volte di Laurenzana. An internal and external medieval setting worthy of a good arthouse film and an intensely engaging atmosphere that has nothing to envy of more noble situations and places. Another feature, which to define as excellent would be an understatement, is the choice of wines suggested by the owner, who manages to provide unexpected and exquisite combinations with creative and tasty dishes. And finally, and above all, the kindness of Pietro who accompanies you in a serene and relaxing break. We conclude with a positive (perhaps more prosaic but not secondary) reflection on good value for money, which has often become a mirage in this society of fugitives.

22/08/2023: Ci siamo stati per un aperitivo,c’è da dire che l’aperol spritz non è fatto con l’aperol,ma con un equivalente di basso valore,egualmente per una coca cola a mio figlio, ma credo si tratti di bevande da discount.Peccato perché il posto è davvero carino potrebbero dare lo slancio attirando turisti anche di paesi vicini.

06/04/2024: Dining at 1999 the restaurant in Maratea was truly a pleasant experience for me. The fantastic location overlooking the Port, the refined and very tasty dishes, with new combinations that make them unique. An appreciation also for the dining room staff ready to guide you in your choice, attentive to every customer request and to make you feel at home. I highly recommend it!

05/04/2024: This place was recommended to us by the manager of the camper area where we stopped: a beautiful, well-kept and above all clean environment. We were able to enjoy some excellent local food presented with a nice twist. The staff were very welcoming, competent, professional. Very satisfied with the experience. To be recommended.

02/04/2024: It was pleasant to have lunch at this place. A nice place, with friendly and efficient staff. We ate the Lucanian platter, the Materano bruschettone, meatballs with sauce, Matera lasagna and cannelloni with meat sauce, all very good. Compliments!

18/03/2024: Very good place to eat or have a snack. It is located in the historic center. The attention is very good. You can eat outdoors. At the end of the meal, the owner is kind enough to offer you portions of sweet bread as a gift, which is exquisite. Recommended.

14/02/2024: I will start by saying that the courtesy and helpfulness of the staff in the room was great. We booked shortly before going and there was room, even though it wasn't a weekend it must be said. Food: one of the best things about this place is that there are two pizza doughs 🍕: Petra 3 (semi wholemeal) and Petra 9 (wholemeal). I chose the latter (because forced by external factors), I didn't regret it but, it was still a wholemeal pizza, it didn't make me jump for joy. My girlfriend had a hamburger, which I couldn't try, but she told me it was ok. They have a lot of beer 🍺, there really is something for all tastes. The waitresses, and perhaps owners, were always attentive to our requests and always smiling. Atmosphere: inside it is very nice, very vintage style, like an English/Irish pub let's say. It's not much outside, it's almost dark. Price 💶: we spent €48 for a pizza, hamburger 🍔 with chips, salad and fried tomatoes 🍅, and two beers. It's a good price in my opinion. We will definitely be back to try more dishes and update the review!

04/01/2024: Cozy place, gentle and friendly staff with so many things to eat, place near the train and bus station and very close to the historic center... just the right break to continue the walk through the streets of beautiful Matera

06/04/2024: Absolutely perfect, from the friendly, attentive, and knowledgable waiter to the delicious food and amazing view! Classy, Lovely place to watch day turn to night over the sassi. I had the octopus with mint, a generous glass of red wine, and a vegetable dish with sausage, while husband had pasta and pork. Every bite was exceptional - even the bread was good. Trust the waiter’s recommendations! Priced very reasonably - paid 42 euros total, including service charge. Excellent deal for great quality food. Highly recommended!

19/03/2024: We expected more. It may be our fault. The viewpoint advertised was for two people. A place called Finestra sui Sassi, should have a good vantage point. We will treat ourselves to some typical Sant Josep fritters.
