21/08/2024: Il gelato è buono, niente da dire: cremoso, gusti intensi e ben equilibrati. Però, francamente, la quantità lascia parecchio a desiderare. Non è possibile pagare un certo prezzo e ritrovarsi con due palline minuscole. Vengo spesso e non è la prima volta che succede, il tempo di uscire dal locale che è già finito. Posso apprezzare la qualità, ma un po' più di generosità non guasterebbe.

We took a sweet pastry with cream and berries where the mixture had an excellent balance with the sugar which, in other pastry shops, exceeds, hiding the true flavor of the sweet, a truly excellent savory croissant. Advise.

22/08/2024: All dishes cooked very well, from the local dish to the pizza, the sandwiches are excellent! Inclusive, familiar and cheerful environment. Excellent value for money. Lots of variety of choices, in short, a truly absurd place... in a good way!

21/08/2024: Excellent restaurant that courageously emerges from a chorus that always and only navigates between tradition (little) and tourism, without thinking too much about the quality of the dish and offering something new, different. A beautiful experience, a restaurant with attention to detail and the possibility of drinking excellent drinks as well as wines. There are small details that can be improved to adjust the aim a little but in the end they are of little importance and are not strictly necessary. All at one. acceptable price for the quality of both food and drink. Essenza is a virtuous initiative, with the right courage, to which I wish luck in the years to come. We will be back.

10/08/2024: Ambiente semplice ed elegante nella magica atmosfera di un sasso Materano. Servizio impeccabile sapientemente gestito da un Maitre/Sommelier a dir poco fantastico. Il menu' proposto dallo Chef riesce a farti viaggiare nel mondo del gusto facendoti vivere sensazioni piacevoli con una continua esaltazione del palato. Sara' un piacere ritornarci. Credo che consigliarlo a chiunque sia di passaggio a Matera sia il " minimo". Complimenti.

29/05/2024: Can you apply strokes of color in the kitchen, like a painter? I would say yes... In a location where light does not predominate, this comes from the color palette, which explodes in the dishes. A very welcome welcome with bruschetta, anchovies and cheese, then a shared bluefin tuna appetizer with warm bread (delight...). Followed by linguine with turnip top cream (the taste of which, for me, could also have been stronger), clams and mussels. A place in the heart of Matera that has its own precise identity, whose 'open' cuisine inspires and then hits the mark.

11/08/2024: We stayed this evening in this beautiful place. We were treated with kindness and professionalism.. Excellent food, we had the ravioli stuffed with exceptional pork not to mention the mixed platter of cheeses and cured meats.. Excellent fruit and dessert! We will return with pleasure 😍.. Highly recommended!!

24/08/2024: Oggi sono stata in questo ristorante, davvero carino e delizioso per pranzo con amici in una località suggestiva di oppido, nel cuore del paese, molto suggestivo, il cibo ottimo,l'accoglienza spettacolare del proprietario, lo consiglio se volete vivere un'esperienza unica nel suo genere.

01/09/2024: I give 5 stars because I went with my husband and my mother to spend a day in complete relaxation and I must say that everything went perfectly, friendly staff, present and attentive, room and clean bathrooms, we ate wonderful typical traditional and innovative Lucanian dishes, fair price for what we ate we will certainly return compliments to all the staff

26/08/2024: Farmhouse with zero km products and handmade pasta, noteworthy are the ricotta ravioli and above all the truly sublime lamb. Complete meal, from appetizers to dessert and coffee for just over 30 euros.
