10 WITH HIGH GRADE – An unforgettable experience at Agriturismo LA VILLA, run by the Sonnessa family in Melfi I have to be honest: at Agriturismo "LA VILLA," I ate like few other times in my life. The Sonnessa family has created something special, truly unique. From the first moment, you feel welcomed and at home. The food immediately makes you understand the true passion here: the freshest ingredients, many of which are homemade (like the extra virgin olive oil), authentic flavors that bring you back to the land, and preparation with attention to every detail. The plating is beautiful to look at, elegant but not ostentatious, each dish presented with obsessive care. The selection of dishes is extensive, and each course brings authentic flavors to the table, with that special touch that makes all the difference. But what really impressed me is the wine cellar. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's extraordinary: truly exceptional. Over 600 labels, nearly 9,000 bottles, a selection crafted with care and passion. The wine cellar, with its exclusive vault, has been renovated with class, elegance, and functionality, and is a charming place located just below the kitchen. Sommelier Gabriele Sonnessa expertly and kindly guides you in choosing the right wine for each dish, creating perfect pairings that enhance everything. The service is impeccable: the wait staff has a rare grace, they are kind, helpful without being intrusive. You can tell they love what they do and want their guests to enjoy themselves. There's class, professionalism, and above all, heart. The Sonnessa family deserves every compliment. They've built a place where rural tradition meets gastronomic excellence, and the Michelin recognition they've received confirms they're doing things right. If I had to sum it up: superb food, exceptional wine cellar, perfect service, family atmosphere. A total top score without hesitation. I will definitely return, and I recommend it to everyone.

The location is a bit dated, both in terms of decor and color scheme, but the wine cellar is beautiful. The food is good, well-presented, and the staff is friendly.

We went for lunch to celebrate an anniversary with some colleagues. It was a great choice, the restaurant was clean and welcoming, the outdoor terrace was pleasant, and the interior was well-maintained. The wine cellar was charming, and the bathrooms were spacious and clean, and equipped with a changing table for babies. The added value was the service, with the maître d' being very attentive and attentive in answering questions about the dishes. We requested changes to the tasting menus, and not a single order was wrong! Kudos also for your helpfulness! The food was well-presented and very good. The slow-cooked egg lacked a bit of a crispy note that would make it perfect, but the presentation was excellent. If I could make a comment, it would be the tiramisu at the end. Not finding ladyfingers and mascarpone, but just a lot of cream, was a bit disappointing when tasting, which, however, had been promising from the look of the dish. I agree with the final choice of moka pot. Quite unique these days. Ultimately, the quality/price ratio is excellent. Kudos, and as I always say in these cases, ad maiora 💪
