11/11/2025: My fiancé and I visited here on our last night in Matera. A lively atmosphere & good selection of cocktails. Food was also delicious, Italian with a modern twist. Our waiter Casio was a great host, he spent time talking to us and made us feel extremely welcome!

06/01/2026: I had lunch at A Barraca and had an extremely positive experience, from every perspective. It's a restaurant that impresses not only with its traditional Brazilian cuisine, but also with the lively and authentic atmosphere it creates. The dishes are all excellent, rich in flavor and true to tradition: there wasn't a single course I didn't enjoy. Besides the food, the typical Brazilian drinks are also worth a mention, perfectly complementing the gastronomic experience. The prices are absolutely fair and consistent with what's offered, both in terms of quality and quantity. The restaurant is very large, spacious, and well-organized, making it ideal for families and groups. I was with my family, accompanied by a Brazilian who recommended this place to me: thanks to her, the experience was even more immersive, because I was able to speak Portuguese, both with her and directly with the owners, making everything even more authentic and engaging. The staff is cheerful, lively, and welcoming, and the presence of Angelo, the owner, a former Serie A and Serie B soccer player, is palpable: he's a charismatic figure, capable of conveying passion and energy. The restaurant is meticulously designed, with traditional Brazilian furnishings and music that constantly evoke Brazil and contribute to a festive atmosphere. A restaurant that stays with you, not only for the delicious food, but for the warmth, the joy, and the authenticity of the experience. Highly recommended. 🇧🇷 🍽️ 🎶

04/01/2026: We spent a wonderful day (there were 10 of us) at the A Barraca churrascaria. The Brazilian atmosphere captivated us, with its background music and the friendly owner Angelo, who made us feel like family. The food was delicious and plentiful, as we chose the all-you-can-eat option. We thoroughly enjoyed everything and will definitely return. Highly recommended for anyone in Matera looking for a fun-filled day of fun and good food.

22/09/2025: Spectacular food! Starting with the appetizers, featuring local, authentic Lucanian products, an endless variety that's already filling. The eggs with sausage and crusco peppers were an unforgettable dish! The first courses were also excellent, also prepared with local ingredients. Unfortunately, I was too full to try the meat-based main courses, but I'll definitely be back next time! The place is very cute, although a little hard to spot from the street because it's next to a gas station. Service was far too fast; I would have preferred a few minutes' pause between appetizers and first courses to better enjoy each course and prepare for another hearty meal.

01/02/2026: Despite our unreasonable delay, the owner and staff welcomed us with open arms and smiles. Rocco and the waitress were impeccable, the place is amazing, and the owner and his magical cuisine captivated us. It would have been a real shame if, because of our delay, we'd missed out on an experience like this, which earned us a top rating. Wonderful.

24/01/2026: A tasteful and courteous experience. A lunch that fully deserves five stars; my choice fell on spaghetti with fondue and truffle and lamb Satrianese-style. What can I say, everything was excellent, from the taste to the presentation, not to mention the courtesy of the staff, who welcomed us and our dog into a comfortable and well-kept environment. I will be back, and with pleasure ✌️

The dishes were very well presented; the first courses were good, but the second courses lacked a bit of flavor, in our opinion. The service was certainly helpful but inattentive, due to only one person in the dining room serving all the guests.

I loved the crispy and flavorful double-cooked artichoke, and the tempura cod with a foamy sauce flavored with lemon and basil. The eggplant pictured was beautiful and delicious. The desserts were delicious, especially the cannoli. All washed down with a Matera Riesling. Impeccable service with detailed explanations of the dishes. Highly recommended.
