26/08/2025: Unfortunately, my experience at this pizzeria was very disappointing. The place wasn't very clean, and the tables seemed sloppy. The service was slow and inattentive: we waited almost half an hour just for drinks and an hour and a half for three pizzas. The supplì looked well-breaded, but they were inedible with overcooked rice and no toppings. The pizza, which should be the highlight, arrived lukewarm and with a dough that tasted like shoe soles. The ingredients didn't seem fresh, and the toppings were sparse for the price. The cashier was rude and rude. Overall, the value for money was truly disappointing. I don't think I'll return, and I don't recommend it.

26/08/2025: I had dinner with my family this evening for pizza, and I have to say that in 50 years, I've never had such a bad meal. We had supplì as an appetizer, which looked good because they had a crispy panther filling, but unfortunately the rice inside was completely overcooked and lacked tomato. We ordered four pizzas at 8:30 PM, and they arrived at 10:05 PM. I think it's absurd to wait so long considering the place was half empty. Leaving this aside, we were hoping for at least a good pizza, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case: the pizzas tasted like cardboard and had very little topping, which made them even drier and more dry: believe me, it was INEDIBLE!!! All this was accompanied by a total lack of courtesy from the lady at the cash register who took our order. The young man who served us, however, was very kind. It was a terrible experience. An evening to forget, and I would never recommend this pizzeria to anyone.

28/09/2025: Terrible experience, never again. As soon as I entered, I was hit by a nauseating odor that already put me off staying. The beer glass was dirty, a clear sign of poor hygiene. I ordered a bacon hamburger: it smelled unpleasant and tasted so bad that I left it on my plate without being able to eat it. When paying, I pointed this out to the owner, who couldn't give me a response. To top it off, he didn't even bother saying goodbye when I left. A place like this shouldn't even be open.

24/09/2025: We chose to dine here because there wasn't much open. 10 arrosticini each (for 2 people) on one plate. Eventually, I noticed a fly. I pointed out to the two people at the table, and they replied, "Strange, there haven't been any flies in the past few months." Help! Are you telling me I brought it in my pocket? Plus, 2 plates of roast meat. The sausage smelled and tasted like it had been passed. Left on the plate... 1 sparkling water. Cost: 70 euros.

03/09/2025: Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience in every way. Plain croissants cost €1.80, table service costs extra: truly out of line prices, especially for Rocca di Mezzo. Any other bar offers the same quality at half the price. The place seems to thrive on its former glory, but the quality and customer service are noticeably declining. A real shame, because with a little more attention and more honest prices, it could be a benchmark.

30/08/2025: This gelateria was our home for the entire week we stayed in Rocca di Mezzo. The gelato is very good and very reasonably priced. €2.50 for a cone with two flavors and whipped cream. I recommend it!

13/09/2025: We happened to be passing by on our motorbike, and given the lunchtime, and attracted by the woods and the location, we stopped for a quick bite to eat before heading out (it was a Thursday in August). As soon as we got off the bike and saw the menu (prices not average for Abruzzo), we stopped because we were hungry. We started by looking for a seat outside (the place was empty) and immediately realized that their electricity is generated by a diesel generator, which essentially, perhaps because of the wind, was inundating you with its lovely smell! We found a table as best we could and asked for a sausage and scamorza cheese and some side dishes. The moral of the story was that we received half a sausage and a measly slice of scamorza (€12) and a mini plate of chicory (€5). In Abruzzo, which we love, there are many better places; avoid this place if you can; we paid €25 each!

17/10/2025: On a study holiday in Avezzano, I tried this place several times, both for takeout and as a diner. It's a beautiful place, run by incompetent and rude people. The prices are exorbitant compared to what I received at my table—basic products, undoubtedly purchased at discount stores and resold at gourmet levels! The staff is untrained, and there's zero courtesy. I don't recommend it.

20/08/2025: The manager refused the card payment because the amount was €5, which he deemed too low. The incident has already been reported to the competent authority.

23/11/2025: The experience at 'Bar Gelo' was, indeed, freezing in every sense. The name, unfortunately, was in keeping with the temperature inside: the place was very cold, with a heater present but turned off. After waiting at the counter for about 5 minutes without being acknowledged, I had to approach the cashier to order a coffee and a hot chocolate with cream and ask to be seated... We were told vaguely to sit if we could find a seat. So we sat at a table that was still dirty. The wait to order was unacceptable and unfair. Unlike the larger tables (of 8 and 6) that arrived after us, who were given menus immediately, we were given nothing. After the waitress took their orders, completely ignoring us, we had to wait a good half hour to order our two drinks. After we ordered, the items left on the table were only cleared away, but the table itself was not cleaned or disinfected with a cloth. The drinks arrived after another twenty minutes, seriously threatening to make us miss our train. To top off the negative experience, we were surprised by the bill: the hot chocolate was €6.00 ​​and the coffee €2.00, while the menu on the wall listed the hot chocolate (with cream) at €5.00 and the coffee at €1. In short: a cold atmosphere, dirty tables, extremely slow service, and unclear pricing practices. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the place.

The menu offers a selection of seasonal dishes, all carefully and creatively presented.
