27/07/2025: I went there one evening in July with my two nephews. We found a table even though we hadn't booked, even though the rooms were already full. A little too crowded, in fact, the star I didn't give it is partly due to the excessive noise that can be heard in the large, crowded rooms, and also to the fact that the crowd of diners, perhaps a little excessive, caused a bit of chaos among the waiters towards the end of the dinner. The food is good, as I already knew from having been there before: the portions are quite generous and the dishes are well-cooked. Of course, it's a restaurant serving Abruzzese cuisine, which is a cuisine made up of relatively simple but always very flavorful dishes. I can't judge the inn because we didn't stay there.

04/08/2025: Review of Osteria del Castello – Ortona The first time we went to Osteria del Castello was on the recommendation of some friends: as always, recommendations are always a bit risky... but we were pleasantly surprised! We were a group of friends and colleagues, and the experience was excellent in every way. The service was impeccable, with friendly and helpful staff. The food was excellent, with authentic flavors and careful attention to detail. We were also impressed by the location, especially the outdoor space, truly pleasant for an al fresco dinner. We had such a great time that we will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

02/08/2025: Lors de notre séjour à Ortona, nous avons eu le plaisir de dîner en famille au restaurant Il Gambero. Ce fut une expérience culinaire des plus agréables. Chaque plat, préparé avec savoir-faire, a su ravir nos papilles par ses saveurs raffinées. Les produits utilisés, d’une grande fraîcheur et issus du terroir local, témoignent d’une qualité irréprochable. Le service, quant à lui, est à la fois attentionné et professionnel. Une adresse que je recommande sans hésitation.

18/07/2025: A classy restaurant, a relaxing and refined atmosphere, with excellent background music during dinner. The staff welcomes guests attentively and every need is professionally catered to. The dishes are excellent; the freshest fish is expertly prepared by the chef, with some original flavor combinations. We'll definitely return. Highly recommended.

31/07/2025: Ci ho portato un amico del Veneto su suggerimento di un amico di qui e tutto sommato siamo rimasti soddisfatti: location elegante in un palazzo d’epoca e arrosticini discreti, magari altrove se ne riescono a trovare anche di migliori ma questi non mi sono affatto dispiaciuti! Consigliato a chi vuole assaggiare il classico prodotto dell’area vestina senza allontanarsi troppo dalla costa.

05/08/2025: My partner and I, along with our dog, had a quick lunch of two sandwiches with exceptional local produce! The staff were welcoming and friendly.

19/07/2025: I had a focaccia with wild boar mortadella, burrata, and sun-dried tomatoes... AMAZING!!! It was delicious, and the olive oil on the focaccia gave it that extra touch. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

The professionalism and kindness of the staff is particularly noteworthy, and we're certainly grateful for them, and they're certainly one of the reasons we'll be back. 🌸

The description doesn't do it justice; it's worth trying! The owners and staff are professional and polite. The place is welcoming and bright, always clean and tidy.

06/07/2025: Grosse Portionen, gut gekocht, sehr preiswert. Klar, der Service ist nicht super-professionell, aber das sollte man in einer Osteria auf dem Land auch nicht unbedingt erwarten und in den Vordergrund stellen. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

07/08/2025: A fantastic dinner by the sea! Il Calamaro is a little gem on the Tortoreto seafront! We had an exceptional and very light fried fish dish. The owners were very kind, professional, and welcoming.
