04/12/2025: When we travel the Brenner Pass, we pass through it whenever possible. Just minutes from the Bressanone exit. Rustic beauty, both inside and out. Everything we've tried ranges from very good to excellent.
A must-try, when available, is the chestnut soup: it's a magical potion that transports you back in time (in fact, it's much richer and tastier today than it was 190 years ago). My only regret: I've never found mushrooms.
02/12/2025: An absolutely positive experience.
We started with a platter: the menu says it's for one person, but it was really generous, so two of us ate easily.
Then I finally got to try the famous dumplings with sauerkraut (I highly recommend the spinach ones).
I finished with soup, but given the amount of food on the platter, I could have done without it.
Very friendly staff.

03/04/2026: A real gem! Whether it's the pasta, the pizzas, or the meat, everything is absolutely delicious. The owner is exceptionally kind. A word to the wise: he's a big fan of French wines, so if you're passing through Burgundy before coming here, don't hesitate to slip him a good bottle; he'll appreciate it!

05/04/2026: Spectacularly rude service. The waiter was rude, argumentative and gave us an impression that he wanted to start a fight by insulting my wife on multiple occasions. He was talking to himself when clearing an empty table next to us. He was making unsolicited comments about some of our half eaten plates. No idea how this place has such a high rating on Google. Perhaps we were just very unlucky with our waiter and the rest of the staff are doing a professional job.

The view of Dorf Tirol and the Vinschgau Valley is phenomenal.
The adjoining restaurant is highly recommended.
A stay at this historic hotel is very pleasant.

We were there again. What can I say? The recent renovations are a complete success. The house offers even more opportunities to feel comfortable.
The inviting terrace is simply perfect for relaxing.
I highly recommend the newly offered sound bowl massage! Many thanks to Manuela for that!

02/05/2026: One of the best restaurants I've ever been to!
Everything is just perfect, from the service and food to the atmosphere and even the price. We had Schlutzkrapfen (filled pasta), trout tartare, Wiener Schnitzel, and the chocolate mascarpone tart.
The white wine from the hillside vineyard next door is also highly recommended! A huge compliment to all the waiters and chefs who work here!

18/03/2026: We were here on March 7, 2026, for this year's Burger Day. Great atmosphere with an ice bar, DJ, live music, and of course, plenty of delicious burgers. Part of the proceeds is donated to children's cancer charities, among other things. We hiked from the mountain station to the Mayrl-Alm via the alpine pasture trail in about 60 minutes.

19/02/2026: The "true summit" of the Stelvio Pass, a few precious meters away from the hustle and bustle of the main pass road. This short detour is rewarded with relative peace and an unbeatable view of the famous serpentine road on the northern side. Practically the perfect spot for a break before heading down into the valley.
