28/02/2026: I had dinner here and tried the pizza al testo, which was good and the portions were just right. But I have to point out that: The place is chaotic, and if you're at a table near the door in the winter, you get all the air, since people are constantly passing by going in and out (the passageway looks like a catwalk for men and women 😂, except everyone here goes drinking and smoking). That said, the staff was rude. When I asked for room-temperature water, the woman seemed pissed off and thought it was a pain in the ass to change the bottle (she'd better change jobs) 🤭 They cleared the table and didn't even ask if we wanted dessert... It's better this way, the profit isn't for them.

28/02/2026: I've been to CheTesto and can say it was a wonderful discovery. A welcoming place, with a casual yet refined atmosphere, perfect for both a dinner with friends and a romantic evening. The meat is truly their strong point: top-quality, tender, and perfectly cooked. You can taste the carefully selected ingredients. The pizza al testo is also excellent, fragrant and generously topped, with tasty and never boring combinations. Generous portions and beautifully presented dishes. The staff was friendly, cheerful, and helpful throughout the evening, which always makes a difference. The price-quality ratio is also absolutely fair for what they offer.

03/04/2026: The truffle pasta at the restaurant recommended by the guide was delicious. However, ordering at an Italian restaurant felt a bit awkward. I clearly ordered just one pasta dish, but a fried egg came out with it, and the price was similar to the pasta. I was shocked. I don't know if I just mindlessly said okay, but it didn't feel good. I turned around thinking it was a relief since the food was good, but did they pull a trick on me for a moment? Anyway, make sure to check the box stating that you are only eating this when ordering.

03/04/2026: The dishes are both delicious and visually stunning, and truly exceptional. Some are even experimental, blending diverse culinary traditions with classic Italian cuisine. The interior is stylishly modern and very cozy, with chill jazz playing in the background. The staff is very friendly (especially with children)! Not overpriced! Update 2026 (8 years later): Nothing has changed! On the contrary, it might even be a touch better :)

30/03/2026: I found this restaurant by chance while wandering the alleys of Orvieto, trying to avoid falling into a tourist trap. Even though it wasn't open yet (it was a few minutes before 7:00 PM), they seated us. We had a delicious meal, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend it.

13/01/2026: The place is really nice because it basically has two rooms: the historic one and the former pastry shop. I have to say, the food was excellent, and I'd say the desserts were excellent, but the wait was incredibly long (two and a half hours for 9 people to have lunch). I don't know if it was a coincidence that it was a holiday.

06/01/2026: Incredible experience! We were looking for a traditional place and found a treasure. The place is breathtaking, with a visit to the underground cellars that left us speechless! The food is divine: local cuisine, with traditional dishes prepared with top-quality ingredients that amazed us with their quality and flavor. ​Antonio made the difference: rarely have you found a waiter so knowledgeable, cheerful, super attentive, and so friendly. He recommended the best dishes, making us feel truly pampered. If you're looking for quality, impeccable service, and an extraordinary atmosphere, this is the place.

14/04/2026: I had a good time. The place is simple and welcoming, a bit retro but in keeping with the name "osteria." I didn't give it five stars because of the coffee (undrinkable) and the slightly high prices (for an osteria), but that's understandable. Would I go back?! Yes, definitely.

13/04/2026: Easter lunch with a limited menu, but everything was delicious. We especially enjoyed the homemade tagliolini with pancetta and artichokes, the roasted rabbit with potatoes, and my daughter's tiramisu.

07/04/2026: We went there for Easter Monday with my wife and daughter. From the moment we arrived until we left, they treated us professionally. The food was delicious. We had a mixed antipasto and a tasting of the truly delicious olive oil. We had the fettuccine with wild boar, which was delicious, and the ravioli with Cintasenese beef were also excellent. The owner was very kind and attentive to our needs. I highly recommend it. The restaurant is beautiful because you eat inside a cave, immersed in history. If I ever return to Orvieto, I'll definitely stop by to eat again.

16/03/2026: We've had lunch at Tenuta several times. It's a beautiful place for any occasion, from family lunches or dinners to celebrations of any kind. 16/11/2025: In this place, time stands still. Everything moves more slowly. For quick, frenetic meals, or for those short on time, you'll have to choose elsewhere. This Osteria is a kind of food sanctuary. You eat while sampling dishes that seem starred due to the care the chef puts into them. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch. I've posted a photo of the menu from the day I was there, but it changes constantly with new dishes. If you want to treat yourself to a culinary experience, come to this place; you'll be amazed.

12/04/2026: We booked a double room at Altarocca Wine Resort for what was supposed to be a special night: the last of our honeymoon. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bitter experience, marked by frustration, disappointment, and utter disappointment with the way the situation was handled. As soon as we entered the room, we realized that the so-called "double bed" was actually two single mattresses pushed together, with a visible indentation in the middle. Sleeping was uncomfortable and frustrating, far from what one would expect for a €190 a night. The most serious issue wasn't just the problem itself, but the way it was handled. After immediately reporting the situation at check-in, we were told that to get a true double mattress, we would have to book a higher room category, paying an additional €50. And, rather casually, we were told that "it was still a double bed." Frankly, an unacceptable response for a property that should and does boast such standards. The next day, upon checkout, no one even bothered to ask us how our stay had gone (and I also consider this to be in poor taste). I was the one who had to raise the issue again, only to be met with a cold and indifferent attitude, as if the issue were irrelevant. Zero customer service, zero empathy, and zero professionalism. Making everything even more unpleasant was the fact that it was the last night of our honeymoon: a moment that should have been pleasant, relaxing, and memorable, but which was instead ruined by this experience. Finally, the organization of the wine tasting also left much to be desired, which is paradoxical for a property called a wine resort: I had asked for a wine tasting upon our arrival at 5:00 PM, but we were told they would have to check the sommelier's availability at that time. In essence, we would have had to start without even having time to settle into our room. An unreasonable proposal, which we obviously declined. In conclusion, a well-presented organization that, in reality, proved to be inattentive to customers, inflexible, and unprofessional in handling issues. For the price paid and for the occasion, I expected something completely different. Absolutely not worth it.

11/04/2026: A terrible experience, bordering on embarrassing. We chose this "resort" for the last night of our honeymoon, trusting the photos on Booking. Unfortunately, the reality was quite different: the common areas were beautiful, but the rooms were unworthy. Our €190 "double suite" was old, neglected, and had a noisy heater that ran pointlessly at 25°C, which—according to the staff—couldn't be turned off. The result: a night spent sweating and sleeping terribly. The so-called double bed? Two single beds pushed together. When I asked for clarification (remember: I was on my honeymoon and almost six months pregnant), the receptionist's response was arrogant: for that price, we had to "make do," and the real double bed was an upgrade, payable separately. Surreal. The restaurant was even worse. We had reported our pregnancy and dietary restrictions in advance, but once we were seated, there was practically nothing I could eat: only raw meats, cured meats, cheeses, and meat. No alternative. I left with a flan and still hungry. Kudos to the customer service. Breakfast was in line with the rest: 13 cakes (including an out-of-place cheesecake), but you have to pay extra for scrambled eggs. Absurd. In conclusion: resort prices, service like a makeshift guesthouse. They ruined the last night of our honeymoon, treating us superficially and unprofessionally. Definitely not recommended.
