13/01/2026: An average restaurant, but unfortunately, it didn't leave any particular impressions.
The tagliata didn't live up to expectations; it's hard to even classify it. Basic service, pleasant atmosphere, two rooms, one more welcoming, the other less so... overall, the experience was rather unimpressive.
It's a shame, because there are definitely better options in the Orvieto area.
07/01/2026: Great restaurant! The menu is consistent with the area and local traditions. The first courses were excellent, especially the tagliatelle. We really appreciated the quality of the pasta and its cooking. The service was fast and friendly. Reservations are recommended, as the place filled up quickly. Although the town is small and easy to navigate, the restaurant is conveniently located. A good choice considering the quality and price, even though ours was a quick and simple lunch.

01/02/2026: The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, especially the pizza chef, who was very good at Neapolitan pizza. We, traveling from Calabria, stopped for a quick pizza and were very pleased. I absolutely recommend it. 10+.

13/01/2026: The place is really nice because it basically has two rooms: the historic one and the former pastry shop. I have to say, the food was excellent, and I'd say the desserts were excellent, but the wait was incredibly long (two and a half hours for 9 people to have lunch). I don't know if it was a coincidence that it was a holiday.
06/01/2026: Incredible experience! We were looking for a traditional place and found a treasure. The place is breathtaking, with a visit to the underground cellars that left us speechless! The food is divine: local cuisine, with traditional dishes prepared with top-quality ingredients that amazed us with their quality and flavor.
Antonio made the difference: rarely have you found a waiter so knowledgeable, cheerful, super attentive, and so friendly. He recommended the best dishes, making us feel truly pampered. If you're looking for quality, impeccable service, and an extraordinary atmosphere, this is the place.

08/02/2026: A welcoming trattoria in Orvieto offering an increasingly rare quality-price ratio. The homemade pasta is delicious, and the carbonara and amatriciana deserve a special mention. The service is friendly and attentive. Definitely not a tourist trap!

28/02/2026: I had dinner here and tried the pizza al testo, which was good and the portions were just right.
But I have to point out that:
The place is chaotic, and if you're at a table near the door in the winter, you get all the air, since people are constantly passing by going in and out (the passageway looks like a catwalk for men and women 😂, except everyone here goes drinking and smoking). That said, the staff was rude. When I asked for room-temperature water, the woman seemed pissed off and thought it was a pain in the ass to change the bottle (she'd better change jobs) 🤭
They cleared the table and didn't even ask if we wanted dessert...
It's better this way, the profit isn't for them.
28/02/2026: I've been to CheTesto and can say it was a wonderful discovery. A welcoming place, with a casual yet refined atmosphere, perfect for both a dinner with friends and a romantic evening.
The meat is truly their strong point: top-quality, tender, and perfectly cooked. You can taste the carefully selected ingredients. The pizza al testo is also excellent, fragrant and generously topped, with tasty and never boring combinations. Generous portions and beautifully presented dishes.
The staff was friendly, cheerful, and helpful throughout the evening, which always makes a difference. The price-quality ratio is also absolutely fair for what they offer.

15/03/2026: We came across this place while traveling from Florence to Rome and planning to visit Orvieto. By chance we saw a sign, decided to check it out, and were absolutely delighted with the place.
It is a very well-maintained resort. The service from all the staff was excellent, and the rooms were beautifully cared for. The entire estate is stunning, with great facilities including a gym and swimming pools, and the view is unique.
We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant and tasted their own wines, which we even bought to take with us. But please be informed that kids under 12 years old are not allowed. Our stay there was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise.

The food is excellent, and the staff is very friendly and eager to please. Thanks to Michela for serving us so professionally and always ready to assist. We'll be back soon.

12/03/2026: Unfortunately we did not have a good experience in this place, my wife and I arrived and the restaurant is empty, but the waiter kept insisting to place the order at least 3 times came to ask if we were ready to order, my wife's plate was salty beyond normal, regrettable she did not finish the meal.
06/03/2026: The food was incredible. The waiter was incredibly kind to my boyfriend and I, and the service was prompt and attentive. The restaurant and restrooms were clean and well-kept.
When we return to Orvieto, we'll definitely stop by again 😁

Everything moves more slowly.
For quick, frenetic meals, or for those short on time, you'll have to choose elsewhere.
This Osteria is a kind of food sanctuary.
You eat while sampling dishes that seem starred due to the care the chef puts into them. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch.
I've posted a photo of the menu from the day I was there, but it changes constantly with new dishes.
If you want to treat yourself to a culinary experience, come to this place; you'll be amazed.

13/02/2026: I visited Orvieto during a traditional Irish music festival last year. All I can say is please please pay this place a visit. Anthony is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and Blue Bar will be the most welcoming place you will visit.
Drinks are plentiful, reasonable and lovely and sometimes even croissants/cornettos can appear in the wee hours. Also a huge highlight is that Anthony is a fabulous musician who will delight in seranading you with songs old and new.
I cannot praise and thank this man enough for his kindness, musicality, friendliness and making the whole trip that much better.
23/01/2026: A very friendly bar where everyone knows each other. Antony is very welcoming and funny. A little gem in Orvieto.
